The libertarian publisher R.C. Hoiles insisted that the editorial page of his flagship California newspaper The Orange County Register was "a daily school room made available to its subscribers." In that schoolroom Hoiles taught what he called "voluntaryism." A November 1953 editorial, "Articles of Faith," distilled its essence: "[A] government is a good government that only does what each and every individual has the moral and ethical and just right to do." If it was not right for an individual to take money by force, then it was not right for a government to do so in the name of "taxation." Another of the "Articles" stated, "I have faith that our government would better protect every person's inalienable rights if it was supported on a voluntary basis rather than by taxes."
Perhaps no single issue better captured the libertarian spirit of Hoiles than his feisty stand on education. The "Articles" declared, "I have faith that we will be better educated by voluntary, competitive schools than by government schools." This statement must have startled conservatives who viewed the public schools as a success story. Indeed, a then-favored conservative strategy was to enter school board races. By contrast, Hoiles insisted he had no more right to vote for a school official than he did to vote for a trustee within a government-owned brothel. (Hoiles repeatedly compared public schooling to prostitution; he once declared, "A house of prostitution is voluntary, grade school is not.
Opposition to tax-supported schools became a dominant theme in Hoiles's writing; his last editorial in the Register dealt with "something-for-nothing schools that have had a great influence in conditioning pupils to believe in something for nothing." On occasion, Hoiles even found it necessary to defend the considerable amount of space school issues occupied in his paper. On October 15, 1945, he wrote, "The amount of space the Register is devoting to the junior college bond issue might cause some to think we are overestimating the importance of the issue. There is nothing more important than the principles in back of the issue."
Hoiles's Educational Background
Hoiles's evolution on education began in a "little red schoolhouse" across from his family's large farmhouse in Alliance, Ohio, where, he later explained, he learned "that the State, or a majority of citizens, had the right to use taxation to support the public school system." His school texts exposed the political "error" of the divine right of kings but "they never explained the error in the divine right of the majority.It simply substituted the divine right of the majority for the divine right of kings." Nor did his school books explain "the basic principle that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the individual; that the government had no right to do anything that each and every individual did not have the right to do. Instead, they had to teach that the government or the local school district, if the majority so willed, had a right to force a Catholic parent, or a childless person, or an old maid, or an old bachelor to help pay for government schools…."
At the same time as they legitimized taxation, however, Hoiles's teachers spoke of the Ten Commandments, including "Thou shalt not steal" and "Thou shalt not covet." He observed wryly, "[T]he government school I attended made no attempt to be consistent and teach me to recognize contradictions." The contradictions did not surprise Hoiles, who explained, "They cannot teach the single standard of rightness because they are practicing a double standard." They could not teach moral values "any more than a robber can teach honesty."
Hoiles's higher education must have also imbued him with skepticism about government education. The knowledge he valued most had been self-taught and it came directly from experience. While studying electrical engineering at the Methodist Mt. Union College (Alliance), Hoiles worked part time at his brother Frank's daily paper, the Alliance Review, and discovered what became a lifelong passion for the newspaper business. Hoiles must have wondered if his college education had been wasted. Later in life he complained of the common perception that "going through the public schools and colleges is education."
In 1932 Hoiles temporarily left the newspaper business and began to read insatiably. Even though he had shown little interest in philosophy to date, he acquired the background that allowed him to sprinkle his future writing with quotations from an amazing range of authors: from Frédéric Bastiat to Ayn Rand, from John Locke to Spinoza.
The most influential was Bastiat. In a 1955 editorial Hoiles wrote, "He was the first man who awakened me to the errors, taught in government schools and more Protestant colleges, that the state doing things that were immoral if done by an individual made these acts become moral. In other words, he was the first man that pointed out that there was only one standard of right and wrong."
In 1935, at 56, Hoiles arrived in Orange County, California where he had purchased an established newspaper. With him, Hoiles brought not only his family but also an evolved philosophy of freedom, which he aggressively applied, especially to public education.
A September 3, 1946 editorial in the Register entitled "Most Sacred of All Popular Idols, Government Education" typifies both Hoiles's style and content in approaching the issue. The editorial is clearly answering critics who argued that public education is a necessary good because it leads to a literate population.
Hoiles opened by quoting an anonymous "lover of freedom" (in truth it was his close friend and fellow libertarian publisher Leonard Read) who defined the proper role of government as a "restraining force rather than a force to compel people to do good." By "restraining," Read meant that government should prevent violence against people and property rather than advocate or impose agendas. Considering government education from this angle, the "lover of freedom" concluded "it has all the characteristics of other forms of socialism."
Some people, Hoiles continued, may see little difference between the earliest "red schoolhouses" that were voluntarily supported and the subsequent tax-funded ones. "True," he stated,
the socialism incident to the "little red school" was only a slight departure from the procedure of a few neighbors pooling their resources, voluntarily, to employ a teacher to instruct their children. But once the socialistic principle is admitted, once the idea is sanctioned of using government's powers of coercion to take the fruits of the individual's labor for the "collective good," there is no logical stopping point.
Hoiles went on to quote Isabel Paterson's The God of the Machine: "There can be no greater stretch of arbitrary power than is required to seize children from their parents, teach them whatever the authorities decree they shall be taught, and expropriate from the parents the funds to pay for the procedure." Thus, continuing the quote, "[n]eighborly, small-scale socialism in education has expanded and developed until today we are faced with the disaster of national socialism in education."
The "disaster" was partly economic. Hoiles cited statistics showing how the costs of educating one individual had increased more than ten times from 1880 to 1940, with no corresponding increase in quality.
Indeed, quality had declined — partly due to increased bureaucratization, partly to the severing of connection between a teacher's wages and his or her need to satisfy customers (the parents and children). Modern teachers needed only to satisfy the government, their new source of income.
"Government educators are becoming less and less servants of those from whom revenues are extracted or from whom their pupil raw material is conscripted," Hoiles wrote. "More and more they are becoming vested interests, concerned with their own employment and tenure. More and more they are allying themselves as a pressure group with other bureaucratic interests. More and more they are using their strategic position to turn the minds of the young towards statism and interventionism."
Attacking on yet another front, Hoiles explained the terrible impact that government teachers have on the character development of children.
I take the stand against tax-supported education because I believe … that the advantage of being able to read and write is far outweighed by the destruction of individual initiative, enterprise and responsibility brought about by government education's poison of statist psychology. Practically every youth in the land is a socialist at heart. How can he help but be unless he comes from a family that is steeped in the belief in true liberty and the dignity of man and recognizes that multiplying a robbery does not make it right?
The Context of R.C. Hoiles
It is not possible to understand the passion with which Hoiles addressed public education without establishing the historical context in which he developed. In the early twentieth century, education in America underwent a political revolution, becoming the lynch pin of the Progressive Era — a period of social reform, from the 1880s to the 1920s. A central tenet was that government needed to play a larger role in solving social problems and in promoting the "social good." "Popular," or public, education was viewed as a prerequisite and the key to reconstructing society by molding generations to come. In his watershed book, Democracy and Education (1916), John Dewey advocated using popular education as a conscious tool to remove social evil and promote social good. Slowly, the classical curricula that aimed at rigorous education — such as familiarity with Latin, a stress on history — were replaced by programs aimed at creating "good citizens."
Hoiles was outraged by his children's curriculum. In a 1961 editorial he reminisced about an incident involving his daughter Jane. After reviewing one of her school textbooks, he appeared before the directors of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce to protest against school books that "set forth the principles of Karl Marx." Hoiles's purpose was not to ban or censor but to assert a parent's right to guide his children's education. Nevertheless, the book was pulled. Why, then, did Hoiles's children attend public school? He told a Newsweek reporter, "There was no place else to send them."
He spelled out a particularly provocative strategy in a letter to Read. Hoiles explained, "I have repeatedly offered a member of the Board of Education in Santa Ana, who is a preacher, $100 if he would publicly attempt to harmonize tax-supported schools with quotations from Jesus.
He will not undertake it. I also made the offer to the superintendent of schools. He will not undertake it." Hoiles wondered if he should up the ante to $500 and construct the discussion as a debate, perhaps with Isabel Paterson, Rose Wilder Lane, or Read himself. Hoiles considered the offer a fail-proof maneuver. If the preacher accepted, the flaws in his argument would be exposed. If he refused, then the refusal would "cause the people of the community to wonder … whether tax-supported schools are doing what they think they are doing."
And that was his goal. To make people consider taxation as theft. To make neighbors refrain from stealing money from each other under the guise of government.

For the longest time, local communities have been able to develop their own school curriculum based on the individual needs of the students. This made sense because school curriculum in a farming community would naturally have to be different than urban schools’ lesson plans.
Yet, over time, the Federal government (specifically the Department of Education) has attempted to standardize the educational materials used across the entire country. This transformation of education policy has been gradual, taking place over a number of years and different Presidential administrations.
However, under President Barack Obama, the push for a national and standardized “common core” has accelerated more than ever before!
Obama’s common core policies only serve to hurt our children, and they must be stopped before it is too late! Our children’s education belongs in the hands of our parents, local officials, and states, not some liberal bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.!
We cannot afford to have schools teach our children using a cookie-cutter educational approach designed by some liberal sitting high up in his or her ivory tower!
Barack Hussein Obama has waged an all-out war on OUR right to choose the education best suited for OUR children.
Today, federal common core is at work in 45 states and the District of Columbia. Unfortunately, many states were coerced or blackmailed into adopting a standardized curriculum, often by the Obama administration threatening to withhold federal grant money if states refuse to comply.
The Obama administration has made the adoption of blanket education standards a prerequisite for receiving federal grants and waivers. Only in Obama’s America can a President bully and blackmail states into adopting a subpar education program and get away with it!
Luckily, Republicans in Congress are starting to take notice of this unjust overreach and have mobilized in opposition to the President’s heavy-handed education agenda.
A resolution was introduced yesterday by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) denouncing the President’s coercive common core agenda and moving to put an end to the standardization of American school curricula.
“This is simply not the way the Obama administration should be handling education police,” Graham said in a statement. “Our resolution affirms that education belongs in the hands of our parents, local officials and states.”
The “common core” is just another way that Washington, D.C. is trying to control all aspects of our lives. The Obama administration has moved on to trying to control the education and indoctrination of our children!
How can we just sit back and allow the liberal Obama administration to dictate what our children learn?
The “common core” was designed to expand on the Progressive principles of uniformity and equity. Progressives want to treat every child equally, all the way up to what he or she is taught in school.
This is an absolute abomination! At some point, we have to put aside this ridiculous notion that all students are the same. They are not! Each student is unique and requires a personalized educational approach in order to reach their full potential!
Every individual student has a unique set of needs and personal experiences that determine how to best educate him or her. Curriculum design is the responsibility of the teachers and parents who know the student the best. Yet today, Obama’s liberal appointees in the Department of Education are force-feeding our children with one-size-fits-all educational materials.
Barack Hussein Obama and the Department of Education are so full of themselves that they actually believe that career bureaucrats know the best way to educate your children, without ever even meeting them!
Currently, 45 states (plus the District of Columbia) have adopted a common curriculum for Math and English. These standards were supposed to be developed by each individual state; however, the Obama administration has abused its authority by blackmailing states into adopting federal standards. The progressives’ next step is to implement a nation-wide social studies and civics curriculum to “teach” your children what it means to be an American, but more importantly, what it means to be a “Citizen of the World”
This isn’t a joke. Crack open your child’s history or social studies textbook and you will see that the indoctrination of our children has already begun…
Do you know what happens if Obama’s common core agenda is allowed to succeed? You’re going to see American school children being taught a Progressive curriculum glorifying Obama and his socialist policies!
Our children deserve better than this… Our children deserve more than just a cookie cutter approach to their education…
It is time to reclaim our right to choose what is best for our children! It is time to STOP the Obama administration from strong-arming states into complying with the President’s socialistic education agenda!

Dominant Social Theme: Whatever is happening is fully justified and in the best interests of the "American people."
Free-Market Analysis: This is a very disturbing article, but one that could surely be accurate. It is apparently based on a report from the AP that puts Scalia's comments in a more speculative – hypothetical – light, as follows:
Avi Soifer, the law school's dean, said he believed Scalia was suggesting people always have to be vigilant and that the law alone can't be trusted to provide protection.
But regardless of the imminence – or lack thereof – implied by Scalia, the implications of his remarks logically extend the trend that the "War on Terror" has already begun. Hyper-security (Homeland Security, etc.) along with travel and financial restrictions and censorship could – almost inevitably – include the potential for increased draconian measures up to and including camps of various sorts.
Also, we have a feeling – just a feeling – that Scalia is sounding a warning based on what's being discussed at high levels around him. In other words, he is not just speculating but has decided to broach a subject of considerable speculation within the military, Intel agencies, etc.
Here's part of the AP report:
Scalia was responding to a question about the court's 1944 decision in Korematsu v. United States, which upheld the convictions of Gordon Hirabayashi and Fred Korematsu for violating an order to report to an internment camp.
"Well, of course, Korematsu was wrong. And I think we have repudiated in a later case. But you are kidding yourself if you think the same thing will not happen again," Scalia told students and faculty during a lunchtime question-and-answer session.
Scalia cited a Latin expression meaning "In times of war, the laws fall silent."
"That's what was going on — the panic about the war and the invasion of the Pacific and whatnot. That's what happens. It was wrong, but I would not be surprised to see it happen again, in time of war. It's no justification but it is the reality," he said.
No doubt, the Japanese camps in the USA were part of a larger, calculated provocation designed to further polarize US citizens when it came to the war with the Japanese. In other words, the camps served as a kind of propaganda campaign.
Surely modern internment camps, if they come, will also be used for propaganda purposes. But the propaganda will be different, as the war being waged is different as well. It is a "war on terror" – with all the ambiguity that includes.
Of course, while there is ambiguity, there is also a good bit of certainty as to whom the targets are. Homeland Security on various occasions has not been shy about identifying certain groups. These include "Constitutionalists," "Preppers," "Truthers," etc. … in fact, almost anyone who has a gripe with the current direction of the US and its ever-eroding freedoms and civil rights.
Why would the US government pursue such interments? The obvious answer is that those running the government are doing so at the behest of a larger globalist crowd that wants to break US exceptionalism once and for all.
The US – like Switzerland – has a culture of freedom that is most hard to eradicate. Religious freedom, the right to bear arms and to write and believe what one chooses are elements that many millions – tens of millions – believe are embedded in US society. They are hard to eradicate.
But look to England to see what's in store. David Cameron's Tories are attacking the Internet, the media and basically making it clear that "security" trumps the "right to know."
Good news? This approach will work better in Britain than the US, where various rights are enshrined in the Constitution. England – Britain – has no written constitution and in times of social stress it is easier in some ways for British authorities to abrogate even longstanding civil rights.
Is Scalia sounding the alarm? The post-9/11 environment has been clearly one of ever-increasing government activism that has expanded civil and military police actions and Western Intel operations as well.
The NSA abuses are merely a small part of what is taking place. The FBI, CIA, MI5 and MI6, the Mossad, NATO and other facilities of Western power – including myriad other intelligence agencies that no one has heard much about – have all expanded their activities and technology. It seems the US – the West – is not being run by organized political entities anymore (if ever it was).
More and more obviously, the EU, Britain and US are run to benefit internationalist agendas that seek an ever-closer global union, both politically and economically. Military, Intel and civilian entities act as the enforcement arm for these agendas. They are as much an occupying force as they are entities of "democracy."
It is for this reason that Scalia is doubtless correct when he predicts the possibility of these camps – or at least their potential functionality. The framework is already in place, the motive is clear and the reality may not be far off if the determination to re-establish this sad chapter in US history exists …
By now everyone should be aware of how surreptitious by omission the Daily Bell can be at times, and nothing but a lack of courage has stopped them from concluding it’s not just possible, it is a fact that our elected representatives are going to send the patriots packing, and by that I mean they will pack them in like sardines. Believe it folks the powers that be are very determined to crush the spirit of freedom in America. Most of who, will meekly go without objection.

The US-NATO-Israel alliance realizes that Iran has significant capabilities to respond and retaliate. With the onset of the US-NATO led war in North Africa, Washington and its allies have chosen to wage war on countries with lesser military capabilities. This factor in itself has been crucial in the decision by the US and its allies to put “the Iran operation” on hold, while launching a “humanitarian war” on Libya.

Apparently, the President had ingested some kind of weird drug, because when he stepped to the podium he didn’t look at the teleprompter. He just started talking.
“…like every other recent President, when I take to this platform I’m expected to tell a certain number of lies dressed up as the truth. And believe me, folks, I had a few whoppers ready to go.
“But now I feel like doing something else. I’m not going to delve into the many scandals of my administration, because examining them and taking them apart and exposing the lies would keep us here all night and into tomorrow.
“Instead, I just want to explain my overarching agenda. It’s the same agenda every modern President has fronted for. I’m not really doing anything new. That’s a myth.
“You see, in order to become President in the first place, I had to sign on to the scheme to debase, throttle, and weaken this country. I have my methods. Every President has his own.
“Weakening America is part and parcel of Globalism. Ultimately, America will not lead the way into what has been called the New World Order. International heavy hitters, bankers, and corporations will carry that ball. America will go along, with its population of sleeping masses.
“So-called Pax Americanus, or imperial American empire, has been shelved, in favor of a much larger operation.
“My basic job is allowing all this to happen, so we end up with a global management system, in which the individual is enmeshed.
“With some degree of accuracy, you could say that everything I’ve been doing is a smokescreen to obscure the march of Globalism.
“We politicians view humans at large as dangerous and badly programmed biological machines. Until new programming can be inserted universally, we keep things in check. We hold the fort.
“For the next two years, I’ll continue clamping down on rights and freedoms. I’ll support the Surveillance State. I’ll take away guns. I’ll step up psychiatric intervention. I’ll increase debt. I’ll keep unemployment high. I’ll probably launch a few more military interventions. Expect more mass shootings, which are covert actions, with appointed patsies to take the fall.
“I’ll allow the expanded militarization of local police forces. I’ll intercede, wherever possible, to stop individuals from living off the grid. I’ll try to mangle the spirit of self-sufficiency in whatever form it occurs.
“I’ll assist mega-corporations. I’ll keep as many doors open for Monsanto as I can.
“You get my drift. It’s business as usual. In my case, I’ll try to up the ante and intensify the collapse of America.
“Did someone put something in my cigarette or coffee? I’m telling the truth. It feels strange, very strange.

The first of the job and sovereignty killing treaties so innocently called an agreement was NAFTA. Official title: North American Free Trade Agreement. In reality: No American Factories Taking Applications. That unconstitutional tool of the global elite was pushed through by globalist Newt Gingrich with enormous help from Rush Limbaugh. Marxist Bill Clinton signed it into "law" in December 1993. Then began the massive destruction of the three job sectors that made America the most prosperous nation on the face of this earth: manufacturing, industrial and agriculture.
A bill was introduced in 2011 to finally get us out. It got zero attention from the old media. Forget FOX. Too many Americans pay little to no attention to bills sitting in the biggest whore house on the planet- except for hot button issues like abortion; it went no where. There were too few of us to make it happen.

“NAFTA has done way too much damage, and we need to repeal it. NAFTA has cost too many jobs, eroded our industrial base and decimated towns and communities,” he said in a statement. “Enough is enough – we need to focus on creating jobs right here in the United States – not in foreign countries.”
"The bill currently has just 10 co-sponsors: Democratic Reps. Joe Baca, Lynn Woolsey and Bob Filner of California; Michael Capuano (MA), Peter DeFazio (OR), Marcy Kaptur (OH), Larry Kissell (NC) and Michael Michaud (ME). Two Republicans are also backing the legislation: Texas’ Ron Paul and North Carolina’s Walter Jones. The bill has been referred to the House Ways and Means Committee, but no action has been taken on it since that time.
"Prior to the implementation of NAFTA, the U.S. held a small trade surplus with Mexico of approximately $10 million. By 2007, that surplus had turned into an astounding $91 billion trade deficit. With Canada and Mexico combined, the U.S. has taken a $24 billion trade deficit prior to NAFTA and turned it into a $190 billion deficit – a 691 percent increase.
"NAFTA was also supposed to usher in a new age of prosperity among the American people as thousands upon thousands of good-paying jobs were to be created through the increase in trade surplus that never quite came to fruition. As you can imagine, just the opposite happened. Each and every year more and more jobs are outsourced to Mexico where labor is incredibly cheap and environmental concerns are a mere afterthought. The raft of jobs outsourced to Mexico forced American workers into direct competition with one another and drove down wages for all.
"Now Americans are forced to compete, not only with one another, but also with Mexican workers who are willing to work for much less than the average American. In the U.S., the average factory worker makes roughly $18 per hour while his Mexican counterpart earns just $3 per hour. This has encouraged a “race to the bottom” in which American companies are frequently relocating production facilities across the border. Iconic American companies such as Coca Cola, Ford, RCA, General Motors, General Electric and Nokia have all opened up assembly plants in Mexico. In fact, GE employs 30,000 Mexicans in 35 factories in the country.
"This race to the bottom has had a devastating effect on America’s manufacturing base. Pre-NAFTA, the U.S. had 16.8 million people employed in the manufacturing field. By 2007, that number was down to just 13.9 million. That accounts for over 20 percent of America’s manufacturing jobs over the past 14 years. Those good-paying manufacturing jobs have been replaced by low-paying service sector jobs with little or no benefits."

So many of us across this country warned what would happen, who and what was behind it:
"What Congress will have before it is not a conventional trade agreement but the architecture of a new international system…a first step toward a new world order." July 18, 1993, CFR/Trilateralist Henry Kissinger, LA Times on NAFTA. There's no question in my mind Kissinger was a Soviet spy; a dirty traitor. I would like you to take a look at this map published in the Denver [Com]Post, August 30, 1992: A New North America. While that "agreement" was being pushed by the hands that own and direct the WH and the Outlaw Congress, many of us tried to warn, but few paid any attention. It is a blue print to break up our country in favor of regions comprising a world government. Right there for the whole country to see but who did not see because NAFTA was being sold as a way to bring "cheap" goods to America.
Twenty years ago. Twenty year olds today were infants when it was passed. Thirty year olds were age 10. I feel very few to this day have any understanding about just how momentous it was and what it would do to this country. I knew because I was running for Congress at the time and did a crash course on trade and tariffs. I also read an outstanding book, The Pooring of America: Competition & The Myth of Free Trade by Dr. Ravi Batra. Today, those adults don't have a clue; their grand parents and parents driven out of long time, secure, good paying jobs, losing everything and forced into big urban cities infested with crime and violence looking for new jobs.
My opponent, incumbent Wally the Waffle Herger, wrote a letter to the Farm Bureau in that district two weeks before the vote outlining how bad NAFTA would be for farmers and ranchers. Two weeks later he voted for it anyway. The people in that district went on to reelect him after he voted to destroy their livelihoods; I've already written many times about how vote fraud won Wally reelection, so I won't waste time here. The Waffle spent most of his life on the public dime, first as a school board honcho in 1976, then on to the California State Legislature for eight years and then the Outlaw Congress for 26 years. He's now retired with full pension benefits paid for by the sweat of your labor for the rest of his life. (With service of 20-25 years, a Member of Congress could retire with up to 80 percent of his or her final salary replaced.) The Waffle just made the 25 year mark.
Next came the grand daddy: The WTO/GATT. The World Trade Organization/ General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The original one was signed in 1947. The big and final one signed into "law" in Marrakesh in 1994, by Marxist Bill Clinton. Full page ad, NY Times, April 15, 1994:1944. Bretton Woods: The IMF and the World Bank. 1945. San Francisco: The United Nations. 1994, Marrakech: The World Trade Organization. History knows where it's going. The final act of the Uruguay Round….to the WTO, the third pillar of the New World Order, along with the UN and the IMF."
We the people are forced to fund our own destruction by thugs in the IRS courtesy of your incumbent and mine. The Outlaw Congress has been unconstitutionally stealing the fruits of our labor in dues for the communist UN and another cabal of evil thieves, the IMF, International Monetary Fund longer than I've been alive. No where in Art. 1, Sec. 8, does it give the U.S. Congress any authority to steal from us to give to those private organizations out to destroy our sovereignty. Yet, do the people demand candidates running for Congress, challengers or incumbents, get us out of those destructive entities draining the life blood of America? Oh, a few of us "extremists".
During the hearings on that monster GATT/WTO, French financier, the late Sir James Goldsmith, testified in front of Ernest Hollings committee. He demonstrated that GATT would gut the American textile market. The following are some quotes from the Washington Times, Dec. 6, 1993, which accurately reflect Sir Goldsmith's statements during the hearings:
"Global free trade will force the poor of the rich countries to subsidize the rich in poor countries. What GATT means is that our national wealth, accumulated over centuries, will be transferred from a developed country like Britain to developing countries like Communist China, now building its first oceangoing navy in 500 years. China, with its 1.2 billion people, three Indochinese states with 900 million, the former Soviet republics with some 300 million, and many more can supply skilled labor for a fraction of Western costs. Five dollars in Communist China is the equivalent of a $100 wage in Europe.
"It is quite amazing that GATT is sowing the seeds for global social upheaval and that it is not even the subject of debate in America … If the masses understood the truth about GATT, there would be blood in the streets of many capitals. A healthy national economy has to produce a large part of its own needs. It cannot simply import what it needs and use its labor force to provide services for other countries. We have to rethink from top to bottom why we have elevated global free trade to the status of sacred cow, or moral dogma. It is a fatally flawed concept that will impoverish and destabilize the industrialized world while cruelly ravaging the Third World."
There were riots in a few locations around the country over the WTO; up to 100,000 people in Seattle. Huge ones in Europe. The late Sir Goldsmith told America what would happen and it did on a massive scale.
In 2000, the Outlaw Congress had the chance to get us out of GATT/WTO. The effort was killed by John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi. Since the impostor president has been squatting in the White House, John Boehner has given Barry Soetoro aka Obama every damn "free" trade treaty or "agreement" he's pushed for; sleeping with America's enemy, Johnny boy. Do have another glass of the red wine you're so fond of.
On June 9, 2005, the House voted 338-86 to reject a motion to withdraw congressional approval of the 1994 agreement establishing the WTO and governing body, GATT. George Bush, Jr., following in his father's steps to destroy our sovereignty and American jobs in favor of a new world order signed another job killing treaty: CAFTA – the Central America Free Trade Agreement. While the globalists in the Outlaw Congress were working to get CAFTA shoved down our throats, I was driving around the country doing my work. At every hotel and restaurant I ask clerks, waiters/waitresses: What do you think of the new "free" trade treaty being proposed, CAFTA? Not one American knew what I was talking about. Not a single working American knew anything about it; all I got is blank stares.
Once NAFTA got going, corporations that used to support American workers took MILLIONS of good paying, steady career jobs – particularly the steel and textile industry – and shipped them to Mexico. Suddenly, THOUSANDS of factories closed. Cities and towns that flourished for more than a century providing jobs for your grand parents generation they stayed in for their entire lives until retirement became little more than ghost towns. I know because I traveled extensively through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. I saw with my own eyes what NAFTA did; it has been a complete and total disaster, as has our participation in the WTO.
One book that stands out on this issue is America's Projectionist Takeoff 1815- 1914: The Neglected American School of Political Economy by Michael Hudson. I invite you to read the comments about Hudson's book; it really is a must read. What made us a power house has been destroyed since 1994 and yet, every two years the American people who have suffered so badly because of all those treaties continue to reelect the same scum bags back to the House of Representatives and Senate who have taken us to poverty with more in the works.
Patrick Buchanan explains it perfectly:
"It seems that, despite the academic consensus that free trade is a win-win for all, free trade is not free. Great nations that have risen to global power by protecting their manufacturing, like Britain in the early 19th century, have begun their relative decline when they embraced free trade. Between 1870 and 1914, projectionist America and Germany both shoved Britain aside.
"Since Y2K, China, which protects its industrial base by keeping its currency artificially cheap, has surged past Italy, Britain, France, Germany and Japan to become the world's second largest economy. And they are gaining steadily on us. Free trade appears to be the policy of fading nations.
"Perhaps it is time for a profit and loss statement of its costs and benefits. Undeniably, free trade has been a bonanza for the top 1 percent and many among our top 10 percent. As U.S. manufacturers shut down scores of thousands of U.S. factories to finance new plants in Asia, their production costs plummeted. Wages and benefits for Asians were, and are still, but a fraction of those of American workers.
"Health, safety and environmental standards were in some cases almost nonexistent. The eight-story garment factory in Bangladesh that collapsed in April, killing 1,100 workers, mostly women, and injuring another 2,500, would never have passed a U.S. building inspection.
"After having shifted production overseas and dramatically lowered costs, U.S. transnational’s saw a surge in profits. These were used to push corporate salaries into the stratosphere, increase dividends to shareholders, and keep the Washington lobbyists working the Hill day and night for fast track and free trade. And the lifestyle of our corporate elites changed. Where their fathers walked sooty factory floors in smokestack towns in World War II, these masters of the universe fly Gulfstream Vs to Davos and Dubai to dine with titled Europeans, Saudi princes and Chinese billionaires.
"These are America's winners from free trade. The losers? Middle Americans. The average U.S. family has not seen a rise in real wages in 40 years. This is directly traceable to the loss of more than one-third of all U.S. manufacturing jobs. And that loss, that deindustrialization of America, is directly tied to the $10 trillion in trade deficits since Bush I.
"Writers who celebrate how U.S. imports have risen in this month or that year almost never mention the trade deficit for this month or that year. Perhaps that is because the United States has not run a trade surplus in four decades, whereas, in the first 70 years of the 20th century, we never ran a trade deficit. Trade surpluses add to GDP; trade deficits subtract from GDP.
"And when in a company town the company closes the factory, the town often dies. And all the little satellite businesses — bars, diners, food stores, pharmacies — that rose around the factory, they die, too. "The tombstones of countless dead towns across America should read: Killed by Free Trade. Tenured economists on college campuses call this "creative destruction." End of excerpt.
If you think it doesn't or won't affect you, it has and will continue through trickle down economics, one of the few things I agreed with Reagan. I live in a small town in W. Texas. Last week three businesses that were here when I arrived in June 2006, closed their doors. The Permian Basin where I live is oil country. Good wages and fairly low unemployment. But, something is making people hold on to their money.
Now comes two more threats, which will bring even more job losses. More jobs for people in foreign countries while Americans live on food stamps and unemployment for years. More loss of OUR sovereignty.
Don't listen to those promoting the TPP & Transatlantic Free Trade Area. While I am not against corporations (I think Hobby Lobby is a fine example of good, God fearing Americans running a highly successful private sector business), I am against what they've become, all for more money. Greed long ago took over love of country and decency.
Yes, I do fully understand the reality of what "free" trade did. It pitted American workers at double digit dollars per hour against workers in foreign countries making the equivalent of US $5.00 a day. Yes, I fully understand the problems all those "free" trade treaties created for companies and corporations here in America. Instead of throwing the rats out of the Outlaw Congress who caused this collapse of our job market, mega corporations put big money into their coffers to get them reelected. Uninformed Americans followed in the true sense of the herding technique because of blind loyalty to their party by reelecting the same incumbents whose votes contributed to killing our most important job markets. In reality, American workers fired themselves by supporting the same incumbents who destroyed their jobs.
But, it isn't just the "free" trade and cheap overseas wages; it's also about the purchasing power of the dollar, fiat currency and the "Federal" Reserve. Until one understands the devastation caused by our debauched currency along with heavy, progressive taxation, they won't get the full picture.
The TPP & TAFTA must be stopped because it is a job and sovereignty killing tool for world government advocates.

Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA):
"Some call it the Transatlantic Free Trade Area (TAFTA) and others call it the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). They're both names for the same thing, a dangerous proposal that will have disastrous effects on the economy, health, safety, freedom, and sovereignty of the United States and her citizens.
"Closed-door meetings started earlier this year on the proposed TAFTA/TTIP. Corporate interests in the United States and Europe have been pushing for an agreement for decades, but only now is it beginning to materialize. These moneyed interests now have more power than ever over our politicians and are using it to their advantage. These corporations are the ones really writing this agreement. Just like with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), there are over 600 corporate “advisers” with access to the text of the agreement, while even our elected congressional representatives cannot read the entire agreement. These corporations will be fine tuning the agreements to maximize their profits, with no regard to what this will do to the United States.
"Unlike many of the previous agreements the United States has signed onto, TAFTA/TTIP is not an agreement with a low-wage, low-regulation country. Wages in the EU are comparable to those in the United States, and European labor and environmental standards are often more stringent than those we have here. We are unlikely to see this agreement have the same direct negative impact on U.S. jobs that previous agreements have had, with scores of U.S. jobs sent overseas due to agreements like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Of the 29 chapters in TAFTA/TTIP, only 5 directly deal with trade.
"So if this agreement is not about trade, what is it about? Inevitably this will be about gutting the ability of our government to do its job. This agreement is likely to further entrench the power of corporations to shape the laws of sovereign nations to fit their needs. If this agreement is passed we will be giving up more of our sovereignty, not to Europe, but to corporations who care only about their bottom lines." More at the link.
The TPP and TAFTA are poison. Both are being negotiated behind closed doors. Not even the Outlaw Congress is allowed to see the text in those "agreements":
"U.S. Senator Ron Wyden has introduced S. 3225, legislation that would require the Office of the United States Trade Representative to disclose its TPP documents to all members of Congress. Wyden asserted. “The majority of Congress is being kept in the dark as to the substance of the TPP negotiations, while representatives of U.S. corporations — like Halliburton, Chevron, PHRMA, Comcast, and the Motion Picture Association of America — are being consulted and made privy to details of the agreement.”

"As the federal government shutdown continues, Secretary of State John Kerry heads to Asia for secret talks on a sweeping new trade deal, the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The TPP is often referred to by critics as "NAFTA on steroids," and would establish a free trade zone that would stretch from Vietnam to Chile, encompassing 800 million people — about a third of world trade and nearly 40 percent of the global economy. While the text of the treaty has been largely negotiated behind closed doors and, until June, kept secret from Congress, more than 600 corporate advisers reportedly have access to the measure, including employees of Halliburton and Monsanto.
"This is not mainly about trade," says Lori Wallach, director of Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch. "It is a corporate Trojan horse. The agreement has 29 chapters, and only five of them have to do with trade. The other 24 chapters either handcuff our domestic governments, limiting food safety, environmental standards, financial regulation, energy and climate policy, or establishing new powers for corporations."
Only one member of the Outlaw Congress read all 28,000 pages of the WTO/GATT nightmare, former Senator Hank Brown [R-UT] who refused to vote for it. He left after one term. Not one member of the Outlaw Congress including favorites like Steve King [R-Iowa], Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio nd Mike Lee [R-UT] read the $1.1 TRILLION borrowed dollars, another more debt budget agreement pushed through a few weeks ago. Stealing us blind for hundreds of billions of unconstitutional rape: "All told, the bill would provide $1.012 trillion to the Pentagon and other federal agencies. An additional $92 billion would be set aside for overseas operations, including military activity in Afghanistan and assistance for the growing flow of refugees fleeing the war in Syria. "A bill they didn't even bother to read.
Now, we have two more "agreements" that will tighten the noose around our necks and the very body who has the authority to pass such agreements aren't even allowed to know what's in them except what has been leaked. Who is leading the pack in the GOP to sell us out, again? GOP set to fast-track 'New World Order' pact.
NEW YORK – "Republicans in the House are preparing to follow the lead of the White House and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to rubber-stamp the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, the most sweeping free-trade agreement since NAFTA.
"The White House seeks to pass it with a simple majority vote, without so much as introducing a single amendment to modify the language of the agreement it has negotiated behind closed doors. On Jan. 9, 2013, in a little-noticed press release, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., together with ranking member Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich, announced they were introducing “fast track” trade promotion authority legislation as a prelude to bringing up the TPP for expected passage in the near future.
"With House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, already deciding to vote with Senate Democrats to grant fast track authority for congressional consideration of the TPP, the only remaining opposition to the bill seems to be coming from House Democrats."
That sleeze ball does have challengers against him in the upcoming primary. But, the party machine will throw all their money and support to reelect Johnny. Because, after all, John Boehner serves his global masters, not the people of his district for the past 23 years. However, there is a tea party candidate who could beat him IF the people in his district get out the vote to toss Boehner out on his butt. If Boehner allegedly wins, the alleged loser closest to his vote total must demand a full hand recount and cross check the voting rolls. Otherwise, Boehner will walk right back to Congress to continue defecating on the Constitutution and selling us out to the global elite.
Please, take the time today to write a short letter – no email – and send it to the district office (where the votes are; DC is where the lobbyists operate) for your U.S. House member and Senator and tell them: NO on the TPP and TAFTA. Remind them the primaries are looming. Stop killing more jobs and destroying our sovereignty.
Also, if you haven't written a snail mail letter to the district office to the thief who represents you in the U.S. House, please do it. NO amnesty in any form for liars, cheats and thieves; illegal aliens. Deport not reward.. This is urgent; see bullet points at the bottom of my recent column.

I am not against fair trade, but prior to NAFTA 97% of all shoes were made here by American workers. Today it's less than 3%; all those good paying, permanent full time jobs gone to COMMUNIST China and countries like Brazil. Our textile industry the same; destroyed. Our steel industry the same; destroyed. Nearly 10 MILLION full time career long jobs gone. Some of the nation’s most respected legal teams are asking the Supreme Court to take up a challenge to the indefinite-detention provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act, charging the law has created the framework for a police state.
The controversial provision authorizes the military, under presidential authority, to arrest, kidnap, detain without trial and hold indefinitely American citizens thought to “represent an enduring security threat to the United States.”

Journalist Chris Hedges is among the plaintiffs charging the law could be used to target journalists who report on terror-related issues.
A friend-of-the-court brief submitted in the case states: “The central question now before this court is whether the federal judiciary will stand idly by while Congress and the president establish the legal framework for the establishment of a police state and the subjugation of the American citizenry through the threat of indefinite military arrest and detention, without the right to counsel, the right to confront one’s accusers, or the right to trial.”
The bried was submitted to the Supreme Court by attorneys with the U.S. Justice Foundation of Ramona, Calif., Friedman Harfenist Kraut & Perlstein of Lake Success, N.Y., and William J. Olson, P.C. of Vienna, Va.
The attorneys are Michael Connelly, Steven J. Harfenist, William J. Olson, Herbert W. Titus, John S. Miles, Jeremiah L. Morgan and Robert J. Olson.
They are adding their voices to the chorus asking the Supreme Court to overturn the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which said the plaintiffs didn’t have standing to challenge the law adopted by Congress.
The brief is on behalf of U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman, Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall, Virginia Sen. Dick Black, the U.S. Justice Foundation, Gun Owners Foundation, Gun Owners of America, Center for Media & Democracy, Downsize DC Foundation, Downsize DC.org, Free Speech Defense & Education Fund, Free Speech Coalition, Western Journalism Center, The Lincoln Institute, Institute on the Constitution, Abraham Lincoln Foundation and Conservative Legal Defense & Education Fund.
The 2014 NDAA was fast-tracked through the U.S. Senate, with no time for discussion or amendments, while most Americans were distracted by the scandal surrounding A&E’s troubles with “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson.
Eighty-five of 100 senators voted in favor of the new version of the NDAA, which had already been quietly passed by the House of Representatives.
Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and others filed a lawsuit in 2012 against the Obama administration to challenge the legality of an earlier version of the NDAA.
It’s Section 1021 of the 2012 NDAA, and its successors, that drew a lawsuit by Hedges, Daniel Ellsberg, Jennifer Bolen, Noam Chomsky, Alex O’Brien, Kai Warg All, Brigitta Jonsottir and the group U.S. Day of Rage. Many of the plaintiffs are authors or reporters who stated that the threat of indefinite detention by the U.S. military already had altered their activities.
“It’s clearly unconstitutional,” Hedges says of the bill. “It is a huge and egregious assault against our democracy. It overturns over 200 years of law, which has kept the military out of domestic policing.”
Hedges is a former foreign correspondent for the New York Times and was part of a team of reporters awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for the paper’s coverage of global terrorism.
The friend-of-the-court brief warns the precedent “leaves American citizens vulnerable to arrest and detention, without the protection of the Bill of Rights, under either the plaintiff’s or the government’s theory of the case.
“The judiciary must not await subsequent litigation to resolve this issue, as the nature of military detention is that American citizens then would have no adequate legal remedy,” the brief explains.

Section 1021 allows the detention of anyone, including American citizens, by the military, if the president considers that person to have help with terror. It’s different from the Authorization for the Use of Military Force, which was adopted immediately after the 9/11 terror attacks, because while that law allows detention, there must be something linking them to the 9/11 attacks.
“Section 1021 authorizes detention, potentially forever, and even rendition of American citizens to foreign nations,” the brief points out. “If this court refuses to hear the Hedges challenge, it will leave American citizens subject to unconstitutional military arrest and detention.
“If this court does not grant the petition, there is no reason to believe the U.S. presidents would cease to assert ‘the right to place certain individuals [including American citizens] in military detention, without trial.’ There would continue to be no statutory constraint on an arrest being authorized by a military officer of unspecified rank. There would be no protection provided by the requirement of a grand jury indictment. There would be no requirement of an arrest arrant issued by an Article II judge supported by a sworn affidavit showing probable cause of the commission of a specific crime. Neither would there be any protection against use of compelled testimony, or against an violation of due process of law. There would be no civilian proceedings whatsoever against the person detained. Indeed, there is no requirement that the individual being detained has committed any federal crime, and military detentions could be used to circumvent the protections afforded American citizens by the treason clause of the U.S. Constitution.”
It describes a scary scenario.
“After the string of black Suburbans pulls away, it is difficult to believe that the military would provide relatives or lawyers with any information whatsoever as to where the person being detained was being held.”
After all, it explains, Congress specifically expressed its desire for the detention provision to apply to American citizens even on American soil by rejecting multiple amendments that would have exempted them.
And Obama, also, affirmed the detention authority, stating, “I want to clarify that my administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens … My administration will interpret Section 1021 in a manner that ensures that any detention it authorizes complies with the Constitution, the laws of war, and all other applicable law.”
Simply stating that means it could be interpreted in a contrary manner.
At the trial court level, U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest issued a Memorandum Opinion and Order that struck the provision as unconstitutional.
Multiple states have passed state laws banning its enforcement inside those states. Herb Titus, a constitutional expert, previously told WND Forrest’s ruling underscored “the arrogance of the current regime, in that they will not answer questions that they ought to answer to a judge because they don’t think they have to.”
The judge explained that the plaintiffs alleged paragraph 1021 is “constitutionally infirm, violating both their free speech and associational rights guaranteed by the 1st Amendment as well due process rights guaranteed by the 5th Amendment.”
She noted the government “did not call any witnesses, submit any documentary evidence or file any declarations.”
“It must be said that it would have been a rather simple matter for the government to have stated that as to these plaintiffs and the conduct as to which they would testify, that [paragraph] 1021 did not and would not apply, if indeed it did or would not,” she wrote.
Instead, the administration only responded with, “I’m not authorized to make specific representations regarding specific people.”
“The court’s attempt to avoid having to deal with the constitutional aspects of the challenge was by providing the government with prompt notice in the form of declarations and depositions of the … conduct in which plaintiffs are involved and which they claim places them in fear of military detention,” she wrote. “To put it bluntly, to eliminate these plaintiffs’ standing simply by representing that their conduct does not fall within the scope of 1021 would have been simple. The government chose not to do so – thereby ensuring standing and requiring this court to reach the merits of the instant motion.
“Plaintiffs have stated a more than plausible claim that the statute inappropriately encroaches on their rights under the 1st Amendment,” she wrote.
Experts have expressed concern that even a journalist who has interviewed a member of a terror group may be considered to have rendered aid to that group.
The government appealed the trial judge’s ruling to the 2nd Circuit, which abruptly ruled that the plaintiffs had no right to challenge the law.

There is one rule to citizen defiance that, in my opinion, surpasses all others in strategic importance; and it is a rule that I have tried to drive home for many years. I would call it the “non-participation principle” and would summarize it as follows:
When facing a corrupt system, provide for yourself and your community those necessities that the system cannot or will not. Become independent from establishment-controlled paradigms. If you and your community do this, the system will have one of two choices:
1) Admit that you do not need them anymore and fade into the fog of history, OR…
2) Reveal its tyrannical nature in full and attempt to force you back into dependence.
In either case, the citizenry gains the upper hand. Even in the event of government retaliation or a full-blown shooting war, dissenting movements maintain the moral high ground, which is absolutely vital to legitimate victory. No revolutionary movement for freedom can succeed without honoring this rule. All independent solutions to social destabilization and despotism rely on it. Any solutions that ignore it are destined for failure.
I am hard-pressed to think of a better recent example of the non-participation principle in action than the rise of Mexican citizen militias in the Western state of Michoacan.
Michoacan, like most of Mexico, has long been overrun with violent drug cartels that terrorized private citizens while Mexican authorities did little to nothing in response. I could easily cite the abject corruption of the Mexican government as the primary culprit in the continued dominance of cartel culture. I could also point out the longtime involvement of the CIA in drug trafficking in Mexico and its negative effects on the overall social development of the nation. This is not conspiracy theory, but openly recognized fact.
The Mexican people have nowhere to turn; and this, in my view, has always been by design. Disarmed and suppressed while government-aided cartels bleed the public dry, it is no wonder that many Mexicans have turned to illegal immigration as a means of escape. The Mexican government, in turn, has always fought for a more porous border with the U.S. exactly because it WANTS dissenting and dissatisfied citizens to run to the United States instead of staying and fighting back. My personal distaste for illegal immigration has always been predicated on the fact that it allows the criminal oligarchy within Mexico to continue unabated without opposition. Unhappy Mexicans can simply run away from their problems to America and feed off our wide-open welfare system. They are not forced to confront the tyranny within their own country. Under this paradigm, Mexico would never change for the better.
Some in the Mexican public, however, have been courageous enough to stay and fight back against rampant theft, kidnapping and murder.
The people of Michoacan, fed up with the fear and subjugation of the cartels and the inaction of the government, have taken a page from the American Revolution, organizing citizen militias that have now driven cartels from the region almost entirely. These militias have decided to no longer rely upon government intervention and have taken independent action outside of the forced authoritarian structure.
The fantastic measure of this accomplishment is not appreciated by many people in America. Though many cartels are populated by well-trained former Mexican military special ops and even covert operations agents, the citizens of Michoacan have proven that the cartels are a paper tiger. They can be defeated through guerrilla tactics and force of will, which many nihilists often deny is even possible.
Joel Gutierrez, a militia member of the Michoacan region, says residents were “sick of the cartel kidnapping, murdering and stealing.”
“That’s why we took up arms,” says Gutierrez, 19. “The local and state police did nothing to protect us.”
The militia men have been patrolling their towns and inspecting cars at checkpoints like this one for nearly a year. All that time, federal police did little to stop them, and at times seemed to encourage the movement.
But that tacit approval appeared to end last weekend, when the number of the militias mushroomed and surrounded Apatzingan, a town of 100,000 people and the Knights Templar’s stronghold. A major battle between the militias and the cartel seemed imminent.
The federal government sent in thousands of police and troops to disarm the civilian patrols. A deadly confrontation ensued. Federal soldiers fired into a crowd of civilian militia supporters, killing two.
Militia leader Estanislao Beltran says the government should have gone after the real criminals, the Knights Templar, and not those defending themselves. He vehemently denies rumors that he takes funds from a rival group.
“The cartels have been terrorizing us for more than a decade,” Beltran says. “Why would we side with any of them?”
Initially, local authorities encouraged the militias, or stayed out of their way. The citizens armed themselves with semi-automatic weapons, risking government reprisal, in order to defend their homes; and so far, they have been victorious. One would think that the federal government of Mexico would be enthusiastic about such victories against the cartels they claim to have been fighting against for decades; but when common citizens take control of their own destinies, this often incurs the wrath of the establishment as well.
The Mexican government has decided to reward the brave people of Michoacan with the threat of military invasion and disarmament.
In some cases, government forces have indeed fired upon militia supporters, killing innocents while exposing the true intentions of the Mexican political structure.
Mainstream media coverage of the situation in the western states of Mexico has been minimal at best; and I find the more I learn about the movement in the region, the more I find a kinship with them. Whether we realize it or not, we are fighting the same fight. We are working toward the same goal of liberty, though we speak different languages and herald from different cultures. Recent government propaganda accusing Michoacan militias of “working with rival cartels” should ring familiar with those of us in the American liberty movement. We are the new “terrorists,” the new bogeymen of the faltering American epoch. We are painted as the villains; and in this, strangely, I find a considerable amount of solace.
If the liberty movement were not effective in its activism, if we did not present a legitimate threat to the criminal establishment, they would simply ignore us rather than seek to vilify us.
The militias of Michoacan have taken a stand. They have drawn their line in the sand, and I wish I could fight alongside them. Of course, we have our own fight and our own enemies to contend with here in the United States. As this fight develops, we have much to learn from the events in Western Mexico. Government retaliation has been met with widespread anger from coast to coast. And despite the general mainstream media mitigation of coverage, the American public is beginning to rally around the people of Michoacan as well. The non-participation principle prevails yet again.
The liberty movement in the U.S. must begin providing mutual aid and self-defense measures in a localized fashion if we have any hope of supplanting the effects of globalization and centralized Federal totalitarianism. We must begin constructing our own neighborhood watches, our own emergency response teams, our own food and medical supply stores, and our own alternative economies and trade markets that do not rely on controlled networks. We must break from the system and, in the process, break the system entirely.
Even now, we are beginning to understand the subversive transformation of our own law enforcement structure, and find a system designed to protect the criminal establishment, not the people. The FBI, for example, has recently changed the language of its primary mission statement, claiming that their goal is "national security", not law enforcement.
Police department across the U.S. are also changing how they interpret their mandate. U.S. courts have ruled that police departments do not have a constitutional duty to protect citizens from harm, rather, they simply exist to enforce legal code after a crime has already been perpetrated. This means that local police are no longer considered "peace officers", but agents of bureaucracy who are not necessarily required to defend the citizenry from violent action. The terrors Mexican citizens face in Michoacan are coming to America, and if disarmament proponents have their way, we will have no means to stop it.
I am growing increasingly exhausted with the incessant rationalizations of frightened activists posing as non-aggression proponents; the same kinds of people who refuse to even entertain the probability that physical self defense will be needed against corrupt government. The pungent smog of cowardice that follows them curls the nostrils, and the obvious transparency of their fear is a bit sickening. I wish I could convey how refreshing it is to witness a group of common people, regardless of nationality, with a set of brass ball bearings large enough to face off against government supported drug cartels notorious for mass murder and decapitation.
If you want see into the future, into the destiny of America, I suggest you examine carefully the developments of the Michoacan region. It is no mistake that good men and women are being disarmed around the world, and America is certainly not exempt. Look at what happens when we are not helpless! We can crush cold and calculating drug cartels as easily as we can crush psychopathic government entities. We are capable of superhuman feats. We are capable of globalist overthrow. We are capable of unthinkable greatness, as long as we are not distracted by false solutions and false leaders who lure us away from localized action towards centralized non-events.
The rise of Mexican non-participation groups gives me much hope for the future. For if the most corrupt and criminally saturated of societies can find it within themselves to fight, to truly fight, regardless of the obstacles and regardless of the supposed consequences, then there is a chance for us all. We must look beyond the odds of success and become men — real men — once again. We must face down evil, without reservation and without apprehension first by separating from the system, and then by standing our ground. We must be willing to risk everything; otherwise, there is absolutely nothing to gain.

The 13th Amendment to the Constitution abolished slavery. This means that if you are a slave today, it’s either illegal, or you have voluntarily accepted your servitude.
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
You have a Constitutionally protected right to be free. If you aren’t free, then revolution is your duty.
Many people believe that revolution requires that they lead a march, stand in front of a crowd with a bullhorn, or form a militia. They feel like it’s a job for the Alex Joneses, the Adam Kokeshes, the James Wesley Rawleses, and the Bradley Mannings of the world.
They’re wrong. You don’t have to be a person with thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook . You don’t have to be a person with a military leadership position on your resume. You need not get yourself arrested on the steps of the White House, got to prison forever for telling the truth about your unit in the army, or stare down a bunch of scary-looking thugs in jack boots.
But you do have to do something.
You can’t just sit there and complain unless you are really just another armchair Rambo.
The way you lead your life every single day can be an act of revolution. By refusing to concede your natural rights, quietly and resolutely, you are performing an act of revolution. Walking the walk doesn’t always require civil disobedience or militia membership (although those actions definitely have their places). It requires your consistent determination not to be infringed upon.
It doesn’t matter if you are a soccer mom from the suburbs, a college student in a dormitory, a church-going dad and husband, or a person who has found themselves homeless through the ongoing economic crisis – by living resolutely, you are performing an act of revolution.
Don’t get me wrong – we need the Alexes, the Adams, the militias, the Bradleys, and the JWRs. We need the people who stand in protest. We need those who expose wrongdoing. We need the organizers, the shouters, the big personalities, the quiet strong types, and the leaders. But these are not the only ways to revolt. If every single person was off organizing their own rally, there’d be no one left to march in it.
What it is imperative upon us to do is to find our compass and follow it. We must make ourselves immune to control by not needing what “they” hand out. We have to be armored against the way everyone else lives and choose our own paths. We must stubbornly refuse to participate in the hoop-jumping that is everyday life in North America. By all of us who believe in liberty doing this, we form an army of stubborn non-participants in the status quo.
Here’s an example. It’s a small thing, a battle that today only affected my daughter and me. My daughter is not vaccinated. She attends a public school where the kids must be vaccinated, or hoops must be jumped through. I filled out the initial forms stating that I had an objection of conscience to vaccines. I was contacted by a representative of the school system who suggested that I sign instead the form that stated a religious objection, because that was “easier”. I refused, because my objection is NOT one of religion, and I felt like that was a cop-out. I knew that I was within my rights to have an objection of conscience, and I felt that it was important to make a point that might make it easier for the next parent. I was then told that I’d have to pay $25 and get a statement notarized to allow her exemption on my basis. I said I’d be happy to get a statement notarized, but not at my expense. I pointed out that nowhere does our local law state that I should have to pay any money for my child to NOT do something. Lo and behold, after 5 months of politely going back and forth, being escalated through numerous different superiors of superiors in the school board and public health system, my daughter is still unvaccinated, I have not spent $25, and she was not suspended from school. The point I’m making is not about vaccines, but about not stepping back from your rights, for your convenience or for the convenience of others. This requires that you read the relevant laws and understand them. It requires a certain degree of persistence and a willingness to be a pain in the butt.
There are valid reasons for revolution.
One of the benchmarks of tyranny is the dizzying arrays of laws on the books, with more and more added every single day. It is humanly impossible not to break multiple laws every single day. Regulations are revenue builders and/or control mechanisms. If the “authorities” can ALWAYS find a law that you’ve broken, then they can ALWAYS give a “reason” for punishing you. Punishment might include incarceration, hefty fines, or the removal of some privilege (like taking away your driver’s license or not allowing your child to go to school).
If the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?

The police state is growing at a dizzying rate, and often the news makes it look like we live in Nazi Germany. It is now or never. Like cockroaches, “they” – the thugs in jackboots and their masters – multiply in the dark, and will soon overtake us if we don’t put a stop to it right now. They want to take our guns because that would make our resistance more difficult. They keep buying up ammo and now have more than enough to kill every man, woman, and child in America multiple times. The NDAA means that any person can be indefinitely detained. There has been a sustained attack on the Bill of Rights and one by one our rights are being submerged beneath the desires of those who would demand our submission.
How can you be an everyday revolutionary?
The most revolutionary act is to be self-sufficient and in need of nothing that the government can provide for you in exchange for some small liberty. When there is nothing that you require enough to submit, then bullying you becomes much more difficult.
This list of suggestions is by no means comprehensive. Please, add your own random acts of resistance in the comments below.
Question absolutely everything you hear on the news. Always be a skeptic. All major media goes back to just a few conglomerates. The “news” is now all a propaganda ploy to help the rich get richer and the powerful remain in power. The media can make or break a candidate with unholy zeal in less than a week. These people and others like them are the ones that decide what “we the people” get to see. If they feel like a candidate or a news item might upset the status quo, they black it out by refusing to cover it.
Call out the media. Let everyone know that the mainstream media is the enemy of the people. When you see coverage that is clearly biased, take a moment to call out the media about it. Take the time to comment on mainstream media websites and point out the unbalanced coverage. If you use social media, share this information and post on the media outlet’s social media pages as well.
Get out of the banking system. By opting to “unbank” or “underbank” there is a limit to what can be easily stolen from you. When you have physical control of your financial assets, you are not at as high a risk of losing those assets, and therefore, less likely to be dependent on “the system.”
Turn your savings into precious metals or tangible assets. On the same note as unbanking, you definitely don’t want to rely on a 401K or savings account to provide for you in your old age. Ask the people of Cyprus how well that worked out for them. Diversify with assets you can touch. Purchase tangible goods like land, food, ammo, and seeds. Once you are well supplied, move on to precious metals to preserve your wealth.
Educate others. At the (very high) risk of people thinking you’re crazy, it’s important to let people know WHY you do what you do. If you are an anti-Monsanto activist, teach others about the dangers of GMOs. If you object to a municipal policy, speak at a town meeting or send a letter to the editor of your local paper. By ranting incoherently or by keeping your mouth shut, you influence no one. By providing provable facts, you can open minds and awaken others to tyranny.
Get others involved in the fight. For example, if you are fighting with the city council that wants to rip out the vegetables growing in your front yard, let your friends and neighbors know, post a notice at the grocery store, and write a letter to the editor. When injustice occurs, use the power of social media to spread awareness. Often a public outcry is what is necessary to get the “authorities” to back down. Look at the case of Brandon Raub, the veteran who was kidnapped and taken to a mental hospital for things he posted on Facebook. Raub was not charged, but he was detained in the psych ward involuntarily. His friends and family immediately mobilized and spread the videos of his arrest all over the internet. It snowballed and alternative media picked it up – soon Raub was released, and all because of a grass roots and social media campaign to bring the injustice to light.
Grow your own food. Every single seed that you plant is a revolutionary act. Every bit of food that you don’t have to purchase from the grocery store is a battle cry for your personal independence. When you educate yourself (and others) about Big Food, Big Agri, and the food safety sell-outs at the FDA, you will clearly see that we are alone in our fight for healthy, nutritious foods. Refuse to tolerate these attacks on our health and our lifestyles. Refuse to be held subject to Agenda 21′s version of “sustainability”.
Take control of your health. It is imperative that you not blindly trust in the medical establishment. Many members of this establishment are merely prostitutes for their pimp, Big Pharma. Millions of children are given powerful psychotropic drugs to help them fit into the neat little classroom boxes, and the numbers are growing every day. Americans spent 34.2 BILLION dollars on psychiatric drugs in 2010. (Source) Big Pharma is an enormously profitable industry that only pays off if they can convince you that you’re sick. Learn about the toxic injections and medications, weight the risks and benefits, and always look for second and third opinions before making a medical decision. Maintain your health by avoiding toxins, exercising, and ditching your bad habits to reduce the number of doctor’s visits that are necessary.
Refuse to comply. If you know your natural rights, which are guaranteed under the Constitution and its Amendments, then it makes it much harder for “authorities” to bully you. You don’t have to let them search your home without a warrant, you don’t have to answer questions, and you don’t have to comply with laws that are in conflict with the Constitution.
Learn. Every day, spend time learning. This shouldn’t stop once our formal education ends. Fill your mind with history, with current events, with constitutional law, and information about the natural world. Learn about health, study economics, research things that interest you, and unravel the complicated conspiracies that are afoot. To pursue unbiased knowledge is to free your mind from the prison of propaganda and indoctrination.
Don’t consume chemicals that cause you to be dumbed down. Avoid chemical-laden food with brain-killing neurotoxins like MSG and aspartame. Don’t drink fluoridated water.
Embrace your right to bear arms. Be responsible for your own safety and security.
Don’t be in debt. No one can be free if they are in debt. If you are in debt, you are forced to work in whatever conditions are present, for whatever amount is offered, complying with whatever criteria is necessary to keep your job. in order to either pay your debt or face penalties. As well, the high interest rates that you pay only serve to make the bankers more wealthy. Instead of borrowing, save until you can afford something or realize that if you could actually afford it, you wouldn’t need to borrow money to have it.
Be prepared for disaster. Have enough food, water, and supplies to take care of your family in the event of a natural disaster. Don’t expect FEMA to take care of you.
Be involved in your children’s education. For some, this means homeschooling or unschooling, and for others this means being on top of what they are learning in a formal school setting. Join the PTA and actively volunteer if your child goes to school. Be an advocate for your child and insist that the teachers teach. If your child goes to school, supplement this at home with discourse about current events and outings that help them learn about the world around them.
Be the squeaky wheel. If you see something wrong, don’t just ignore it. Say something about it, and keep saying something until it changes. Whether this is some process that infringes on your privacy, a job requirement that impedes your health, or another injustice, pursue it relentlessly. Ask questions publically, write letters, and use social media to bring pressure to encourage a change.
Reduce your consumer spending. Spending less helps to starve the beast by reducing the sales taxes you pay and withdrawing your financial support to big conglomerates. If we vote with our dollars, eventually there will, of a necessity, be a paradigm shift that returns us to simpler days, when families that were willing to work hard could make a living without selling their souls to the corporate monoliths. A low-consumption lifestyle reduces your financial dependency, which allows for more freedom.
Ditch popular culture. If reality TV isn’t a tool for dumbing people down, I don’t know what it is. My daughter recently begged to watch an episode of a popular reality TV show that “everyone” was watching. She managed about 15 minutes of it and then said, “This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.” She decided to read a book instead. Popular entertainment is a media tool used to change our perspectives about our personal values, and to tell us how to think and feel about issues.
Buy locally. Support local small businesses to help others who are fighting for independence from the system. You might pay a little bit more than you would at your big box store, but the only people benefiting from your purchases made at the corporate stores are those with the 7 figure annual bonuses.
Develop multiple streams of income. Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Figure out several ways to bring in income. Not only does this free you from being a wage slave, but it allows you to hire friends or family members. You are less entangled in the system and not subject to corporate whims. If one business fails, or becomes subject to regulations that make it no longer worthwhile, you are not forced to comply just to keep a roof over your head.
Say thanks, but no thanks. There is no such thing as a benevolent hand out. Nearly anything offered for free (particularly by a government entity) has strings attached. Maybe there is a handy-dandy registration form that you need to fill out. You might be influenced to vote a certain way just to keep the freebies coming. You might have to pee in a cup every two weeks. Perhaps one day you’ll need to have a microchip embedded in your hand. Either way, by accepting handouts from those in “authority”, you become beholden to them or you need them, and someone who is free is neither beholden nor needy.
Don’t take the easy road. The PTB like to seduce people with simplicity. ”If you just sign this paper, it will be much easier,” they say. ”This chip is for your convenience,” they tell you. ”By giving up this, it lets us take care of you and you will be much safer.” The easy road only gets you to Slave Street a whole lot faster. Take the difficult road and be responsible for yourself. Don’t take shortcuts that compromise your beliefs. Go to court to fight a ticket, read the laws and defend yourself, and know that anything you give up, you will never get back.
According to the Declaration of Independence, ”Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
That means that you don’t have to accept the unjust laws. That means you don’t have to quietly take it, muttering under your breath that it isn’t right, but not daring to raise your voice. That means that “they” are only in control of you if you allow it.

Did you know that financial institutions all over the world are warning that we could see a "mega default" on a very prominent high-yield investment product in China on January 31st? We are being told that this could lead to a cascading collapse of the shadow banking system in China which could potentially result in "sky-high interest rates" and "a precipitous plunge in credit". In other words, it could be a "Lehman Brothers moment" for Asia. And since the global financial system is more interconnected today than ever before, that would be very bad news for the United States as well. Since Lehman Brothers collapsed in 2008, the level of private domestic credit in China has risen from $9 trillion to an astounding $23 trillion. That is an increase of $14 trillion in just a little bit more than 5 years. Much of that "hot money" has flowed into stocks, bonds and real estate in the United States. So what do you think is going to happen when that bubble collapses?
The bubble of private debt that we have seen inflate in China since the Lehman crisis is unlike anything that the world has ever seen. Never before has so much private debt been accumulated in such a short period of time. All of this debt has helped fuel tremendous economic growth in China, but now a whole bunch of Chinese companies are realizing that they have gotten in way, way over their heads. In fact, it is being projected that Chinese companies will pay out the equivalent of approximately a trillion dollars in interest payments this year alone. That is more than twice the amount that the U.S. government will pay in interest in 2014.
Over the past several years, the U.S. Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England have all been criticized for creating too much money. But the truth is that what has been happening in China surpasses all of their efforts combined. You can see an incredible chart which graphically illustrates this point right here. As the Telegraph pointed out a while back, the Chinese have essentially "replicated the entire U.S. commercial banking system" in just five years…
Overall credit has jumped from $9 trillion to $23 trillion since the Lehman crisis. "They have replicated the entire U.S. commercial banking system in five years," she said.
The ratio of credit to GDP has jumped by 75 percentage points to 200pc of GDP, compared to roughly 40 points in the US over five years leading up to the subprime bubble, or in Japan before the Nikkei bubble burst in 1990. "This is beyond anything we have ever seen before in a large economy. We don't know how this will play out. The next six months will be crucial," she said.
As with all other things in the financial world, what goes up must eventually come down.
And right now January 31st is shaping up to be a particularly important day for the Chinese financial system. The following is from a Reuters article…
The trust firm responsible for a troubled high-yield investment product sold through China's largest banks has warned investors they may not be repaid when the 3 billion-yuan ($496 million)product matures on Jan. 31, state media reported on Friday.
Investors are closely watching the case to see if it will shatter assumptions that the government and state-owned banks will always protect investors from losses on risky off-balance-sheet investment products sold through a murky shadow banking system.
If there is a major default on January 31st, the effects could ripple throughout the entire Chinese financial system very rapidly. A recent Forbes article explained why this is the case…
A WMP default, whether relating to Liansheng or Zhenfu, could devastate the Chinese banking system and the larger economy as well. In short, China’s growth since the end of 2008 has been dependent on ultra-loose credit first channeled through state banks, like ICBC and Construction Bank, and then through the WMPs, which permitted the state banks to avoid credit risk. Any disruption in the flow of cash from investors to dodgy borrowers through WMPs would rock China with sky-high interest rates or a precipitous plunge in credit, probably both. The result? The best outcome would be decades of misery, what we saw in Japan after its bubble burst in the early 1990s.
The big underlying problem is the fact that private debt and the money supply have both been growing far too rapidly in China. According to Forbes, M2 in China increased by 13.6 percent last year…
And at the same time China’s money supply and credit are still expanding. Last year, the closely watched M2 increased by only 13.6%, down from 2012’s 13.8% growth. Optimists say China is getting its credit addiction under control, but that’s not correct. In fact, credit expanded by at least 20% last year as money poured into new channels not measured by traditional statistics.
Overall, M2 in China is up by about 1000 percentsince 1999. That is absolutely insane.
And of course China is not the only place in the world where financial trouble signs are erupting. Things in Europe just keep getting worse, and we have just learned that the largest bank in Germany just suffered " a surprise fourth-quarter loss"…
Deutsche Bank shares tumbled on Monday following a surprise fourth-quarter loss due to a steep drop in debt trading revenues and heavy litigation and restructuring costs that prompted the bank to warn of a challenging 2014.
Germany's biggest bank said revenue at its important debt-trading division, fell 31 percent in the quarter, a much bigger drop than at U.S. rivals, which have also suffered from sluggish fixed-income trading.
If current trends continue, many other big banks will soon be experiencing a "bond headache" as well. At this point, Treasury Bond sentiment is about the lowest that it has been in about 20 years. Investors overwhelmingly believe that yields are heading higher.
If that does indeed turn out to be the case, interest rates throughout our economy are going to be rising, economic activity will start slowing down significantly and it could set up the "nightmare scenario" that I keep talking about.
But I am not the only one talking about it.
In fact, the World Economic Forum is warning about the exact same thing…
Fiscal crises triggered by ballooning debt levels in advanced economies pose the biggest threat to the global economy in 2014, a report by the World Economic Forum has warned.
Ahead of next week's WEF annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, the forum's annual assessment of global dangers said high levels of debt in advanced economies, including Japan and America, could lead to an investor backlash.
This would create a "vicious cycle" of ballooning interest payments, rising debt piles and investor doubt that would force interest rates up further.
So will a default event in China on January 31st be the next "Lehman Brothers moment" or will it be something else?
In the end, it doesn't really matter. The truth is that what has been going on in the global financial system is completely and totally unsustainable, and it is inevitable that it is all going to come horribly crashing down at some point during the next few years.
It is just a matter of time.

Harry Reid has spoken; his words praising Obama create new drama. Nancy Pelosi’s a dirt ball dressed like a beach ball. Like the first cow pie, on the first grass, she’s more a weed in our garden; more like Astroturf passing for grass. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid don’t want us calling the Affordable Care Act (ACA) ObamaCare anymore. They feel it’s a pejorative or uncomplimentary. I suggest we use it every chance we get. The visual forming in my mind of both of them going Scanners while pontificating before the press is awesome. (To explain: “Scanners” (1981) was a movie where people with psychic powers could cause others’ head to explode at will. A nifty talent don’t you think?)
When Obama was campaigning it was okay to call the ACA ObamaCare. He was proud of it. Pelosi was proud of it before it was propelled to the forefront of the ridiculous. Remember when we were told: “… we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it away from the fog of the controversy” we must ask; why couldn’t we read it before you asses passed it? For that matter, why the hell didn’t YOU read it before you passed it? The ACA has been proven to be so badly flawed from a political standpoint it’s the poster child for any and all legislation should never get passed out of committees. This piece of crap legislation has already been proven so full of loopholes, rat-holes and black holes it’s become a constellation of self-serving stupidity in action.
The bad part of it all is it WAS NOT written by your representatives and senators. It was written by non-governmental special interests specially qualified to write in “legalese”, then sent to legislative assistants, along with synopses and basic explanations of what the writing said and means and then given to the representatives and senators for sponsorship before their specific legislative houses. The problem comes where the senator or representative has to justify what’s in the legislation. They read from the synopsis. They have no greater understanding of what SPECIFICALLY is in the body of the legislation than the restroom attendant has to give them a towel because they’re too stupid to operate a hand-blower.
For those of you who are being disabused of your understanding as to how the government works it’s to be understood this has always been this way. Money talks-B.S. walks. You pay a miniscule amount of their paycheck in the form of taxes. Because that amount of money is so small as an individual, legislators feel NO need to listen to you, the taxpayer. You’re another sheep in the herd. The big money comes from industries and wealthy individuals with axes to grind and profit margins to expand. They have special interests needing legislative action to make the issue legal. The days of envelopes passed across the dinner table hasn’t changed much, having been displaced by covert insider trading. It’s only covert now because everybody howled about the special privileges congress votes itself while seeing to it the average citizen is prosecuted for the same acts. It’s similar to Ponzi being the progenitor of a “scheme” and Roosevelt enacted Social Security, or Obama pushing the ACA where the younger subsidize the elderly. When the scheme is hidden in a legislative fog it becomes unrecognizable and acceptable. Nobody noticed people 25 years old and younger could stay on parental coverage. This removes them from the pool expected to carry the load for the program. It’s stuff like this needs to be read before you pass it to remove the stupid, duplicative and duplicitous garbage saddles the middle-class with the bill. But that would be too much like being representative of the needs of the people. It would also remove the congress from their grafting, illegal benefits and their comfy, lordly positions over us they peon (sic).
Now, they’ve passed a 1 Trillion dollar budget we’re expected to shoulder into the future and place in our children’s wagons for them to carry. Let’s circle the wagons and get rid of these people: NOW! Re-elect nobody! Thanks for listening.

What is most striking about the American police state is not the mega-corporations running amok in the halls of Congress, the militarized police crashing through doors and shooting unarmed citizens, or the invasive surveillance regime which has come to dominate every aspect of our lives. No, what has been most disconcerting about the emergence of the American police state is the extent to which the citizenry appears content to passively wait for someone else to solve our nation’s many problems. Unless Americans are prepared to engage in militant nonviolent resistance in the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi, true reform, if any, will be a long time coming.
Yet as I detail in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, if we don’t act soon, all that is in need of fixing will soon be unfixable, especially as it relates to the police state that becomes more entrenched with each passing day. By “police state,” I am referring to more than a society overrun by the long arm of the police. I am referring to a society in which all aspects of a person’s life are policed by government agents, one in which all citizens are suspects, their activities monitored and regulated, their movements tracked, their communications spied upon, and their lives, liberties and pursuit of happiness dependent on the government’s say-so.
That said, how can anyone be expected to “fix” what is broken unless they first understand the lengths to which the government with its arsenal of technology is going in order to accustom the American people to life in a police state and why being spied on by government agents, both state and federal, as well as their partners in the corporate world, is a problem, even if you’ve done nothing wrong.
Indeed, as the trend towards over criminalization makes clear, it won’t be long before the average law-abiding American is breaking laws she didn’t even know existed during the course of a routine day. The point, of course, is that while you may be oblivious to your so-called law-breaking—whether it was collecting rainwater to water your lawn, lighting a cigarette in the privacy of your home, or gathering with friends in your backyard for a Sunday evening Bible study—the government will know each and every transgression and use them against you.
As noted by the Brookings Institution, “For the first time ever, it will become technologically and financially feasible for authoritarian governments to record nearly everything that is said or done within their borders — every phone conversation, electronic message, social media interaction, the movements of nearly every person and vehicle, and video from every street corner.”
As the following will show, the electronic concentration camp, as I have dubbed the surveillance state, is perhaps the most insidious of the police state’s many tentacles, impacting almost every aspect of our lives and making it that much easier for the government to encroach on our most vital freedoms, ranging from free speech, assembly and the press to due process, privacy, and property, by eavesdropping on our communications, tracking our movements and spying on our activities.
Tracking you based on your consumer activities: Fusion centers, federal-state law enforcement partnerships which attempt to aggregate a variety of data on so-called “suspicious persons,” have actually collected reports on people buying pallets of bottled water, photographing government buildings, and applying for a pilot’s license as “suspicious activity.” Retailers are getting in on the surveillance game as well. Large corporations such as Target have been tracking and assessing the behavior of their customers, particularly their purchasing patterns, for years. In 2015, mega-food corporations will be rolling out high-tech shelving outfitted with cameras in order to track the shopping behavior of customers, as well as information like the age and sex of shoppers.
Tracking you based on your public activities: Sensing a booming industry, private corporations are jumping on the surveillance state bandwagon, negotiating lucrative contracts with police agencies throughout the country in order to create a web of surveillance that encompasses all major urban centers. Companies such as NICE and Bright Planet are selling equipment and services to police departments with the promise of monitoring large groups of people seamlessly, as in the case of protests and rallies. They are also engaging in extensive online surveillance, looking for any hints of “large public events, social unrest, gang communications, and criminally predicated individuals.” Defense contractors are attempting to take a bite out of this lucrative market as well. Raytheon has recently developed a software package known as Riot, which promises to predict the future behavior of an individual based upon his social media posts.
Tracking you based on your phone activities: The CIA has been paying AT&T over $10 million per year in order to gain access to data on Americans’ phone calls abroad. This is in addition to telecommunications employees being embedded in government facilities to assist with quick analysis of call records and respond to government requests for customer location data. They receive hundreds of thousands of such requests per year.
Tracking you based on your computer activities: Federal agents now employ a number of hacking methods in order to gain access to your computer activities and “see” whatever you’re seeing on your monitor. Malicious hacking software can be installed via a number of inconspicuous methods, including USB, or via an email attachment or software update. It can then be used to search through files stored on a hard drive, log keystrokes, or take real time screenshots of whatever a person is looking at on their computer, whether personal files, web pages, or email messages. It can also be used to remotely activate cameras and microphones, offering another means of glimpsing into the personal business of a target.
Tracking you based on your behavior: Thanks to a torrent of federal grants, police departments across the country are able to fund outrageous new surveillance systems that turn the most basic human behaviors into suspicious situations to be studied and analyzed. Police in California, Massachusetts, and New York have all received federal funds to create systems like that operated by the New York Police Department, which “links 3,000 surveillance cameras with license plate readers, radiation sensors, criminal databases and terror suspect lists.” Police all across the country are also now engaging in big data mining operations, often with the help of private companies, in order to develop city-wide nets of surveillance. For example, police in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, now work with IBM in order to “integrate new data and analytics tools into everyday crime fighting.”
Tracking you based on your face: Facial recognition software promises to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. The goal is for government agents to be able to scan a crowd of people and instantaneously identify all of the individuals present. Facial recognition programs are being rolled out in states all across the country (only twelve states do not use facial recognition software). For example, in Ohio, 30,000 police officers and court employees are able to access the driver’s license images of people in the state, without any form of oversight to track their views or why they’re accessing them. The FBI is developing a $1 billion program, Next Generation Identification, which involves creating a massive database of mugshots for police all across the country.
Tracking you based on your car: License plate readers, which can identify the owner of any car that comes within its sights, are growing in popularity among police agencies. Affixed to overpasses or cop cars, these devices give police a clear idea of where your car was at a specific date and time, whether the doctor’s office, the bar, the mosque, or at a political rally. State police in Virginia used license plate readers to record every single vehicle that arrived to President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009 from Virginia. They also recorded the license plates of attendees at rallies prior to the election, including for then-candidate Obama and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. This data collection came at the request of the U.S. Secret Service. Incredibly, Virginia police stored data on some 8 million license plates, some for up to three years.
Tracking you based on your social media activities: The obsession with social media as a form of surveillance will have some frightening consequences in coming years. As Helen A.S. Popkin, writing for NBC News, has astutely observed, “We may very well face a future where algorithms bust people en masse for referencing illegal ‘Game of Thrones’ downloads, or run sweeps for insurance companies seeking non-smokers confessing to lapsing back into the habit. Instead of that one guy getting busted for a lame joke misinterpreted as a real threat, the new software has the potential to roll, Terminator-style, targeting every social media user with a shameful confession or questionable sense of humor.”
Tracking you based on your metadata: Metadata is an incredibly invasive set of data to have on a person. Indeed, with access to one’s metadata, one can “identify people’s friends and associates, detect where they were at a certain time, acquire clues to religious or political affiliations, and pick up sensitive information like regular calls to a psychiatrist’s office, late-night messages to an extramarital partner or exchanges with a fellow plotter.” The National Security Agency (NSA) has been particularly interested in metadata, compiling information on Americans’ social connections “that can identify their associates, their locations at certain times, their traveling companions and other personal information.” Mainway, the main NSA tool used to connect the dots on American social connections, collected 700 million phone records per day in 2011. That number increased by 1.1 billion in August 2011. The NSA is now working on creating “a metadata repository capable of taking in 20 billion ‘record events’ daily and making them available to N.S.A. analysts within 60 minutes.”
Tracking you from the skies: Nothing, and I mean nothing, will escape government eyes, especially when drones take to the skies in 2015. These gadgets, ranging from the colossal to the miniature, will have the capability of seeing through the walls of your home and tracking your every movement.
To put it bluntly, we are living in an electronic concentration camp. Through a series of imperceptible steps, we have willingly allowed ourselves to become enmeshed in a system that knows the most intimate details of our lives, analyzes them, and treats us accordingly. Whether via fear of terrorism, narcissistic pleasure, or lazy materialism, we have slowly handed over our information to all sorts of entities, corporate and governmental, public and private, who are now using that information to cow and control us for their profit. As George Orwell warned, “You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct—in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.”
Thus, we have arrived in Orwell’s world. The question now is: will we take a stand and fight to remain free or will we go gently into the concentration camp?

Next phase of dictatorship proposed to save children and workers
Obama has officially announced plans to trash the Constitution and move forward with a socialist-corporatist dictatorship without input from Congress or the American people. He made the announcement Tuesday during a cabinet meeting.
“We’re not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we’re providing Americans the kind of help they need. I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone,” Obama said.
“And I can use that pen to sign executive orders (ILLEGALLY) and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, (COMMON CORE?) making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance, (BAILOUTS) to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating.”(BURGER-FLIPPERS)
Article I Section I of the Constitution clearly states all legislative powers reside with Congress. The founders were inspired by the writings of Montesquieu and insisted on three separate branches of government and instituted a system of checks and balances to prevent tyranny. “There can be no liberty where the legislative and executive powers are united in the same person,” Montesquieu wrote.
James Madison, writing in Federalist 46, warned that consolidated power at the executive level is the very definition of tyranny. “The accumulation of all power, legislative, executive, and judiciary in the same hands… may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”
George Washington signed the first executive order proclaiming a national day of thanksgiving in 1789. Since that time, the Supreme Court has ruled executive orders may not be used to make law, only execute laws passed by Congress. From Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt onward, however, presidents have signed a large number of increasingly audacious and unconstitutional executive orders. (DUH)
“Obama, lacking the charm of Franklin Roosevelt, nevertheless seeks to follow his path in growing executive power,” writes David Davenport. “Starting with President Woodrow Wilson, and culminating in Roosevelt’s New Deal, progressives sought to undermine the power of the legislature in favor of consolidating power in the executive branch. From passing the sweeping healthcare reform bill on a party-line vote, to the largest use of executive czars in our history, to initiating new policies on things like immigration and gun control by executive order, Obama seeks to leave 225 years of constitutional separation of powers behind. This needs to be exposed for what it is: a series of constitutional end-runs and a power grab by a frustrated and legacy-driven president.”
Republicans, looking for partisan ammo to attack a Democrat president, will undoubtedly criticize Obama’s latest constitutional affront. Executive orders and the gradual evolvement of the imperial presidency is not limited to Democrats, however.
“Both Republicans and Democrats are fond of referring to the ‘imperial presidency’ when someone from the opposite party is in the White House,” explains William L. Anderson. “Yet both parties have acted to protect and strengthen the presidency when it was to their advantage.”

This relegation of the American experiment to an irrelevant footnote is precisely what the global elite with a stranglehold on government have in mind.
The globalist intelligentsia continue to argue in favor of trashing the Constitution. In 2011, CNN contributor Fareed Zakaria argued that the Constitution is outdated and its principles should be “debated and fixed” to conform with the modern era. He suggested “a set of amendments to modernize the Constitution for the 21st Century.”
Adherence to the Constitution is now portrayed as a form of mental illness. “Indeed, there is something infantile in the belief of the constitution-worshipers that the complex political arguments of today can be settled by simple fidelity to a document written in the 18th century,” the editors the Economist wrote in late 2010. “When history is turned into scripture and men into deities, truth is the victim.”
The Constitution stands between the global elite and their plan to reduce America to an economic and cultural ruin. Natural rights and individual sovereignty are intractable obstacles and must be destroyed if a one world totalitarian government is to be realized.
Obama’s latest comments on the plan to impose executive decrees – as usual, for the sake of the children– sets the stage for the next phase of dictatorial government and the dismantlement of the Constitution and its relegation to the dustbin of history.

Yet they will now deny the wounded veteran his pension COLA increases which he or she earned and depends on while struggling to survive day to day, some are in wheel chairs and without arms and legs. Mr. Politician you are now going to be held accountable.
This vote, to first deny and then block the able bodied and disabled veterans their earned pension COLA raises is unacceptable and an act of treason against the Republic from the Marxists in the government. They must want a war against 25 million veterans. Mr. Communist, Mr. RINO, Mr.. Democrat, Mr. Republican. So be it. You got it.

We now live in a two-tiered system of governance. There are two sets of laws: one set for the government and its corporate allies, and another set for you and me.
The laws which apply to the majority of the population allow the government to do things like sending SWAT teams crashing through your door in the middle of the night, rectally probing you during a roadside stop, or listening in on your phone calls and reading all of your email messages, confiscating your property, or indefinitely detaining you in a military holding cell. These are the laws which are executed every single day against a population which has up until now been blissfully ignorant of the radical shift taking place in American government.
Then there are the laws constructed for the elite, which allow bankers who crash the economy to walk free. They’re the laws which allow police officers to avoid prosecution when they shoot unarmed citizens, strip search non-violent criminals, or taser pregnant women on the side of the road, or pepper spray peaceful protestors. These are the laws of the new age we are entering, an age of neo-feudalism, in which corporate-state rulers dominate the rest of us, where the elite create the laws which can result in a person being jailed for possessing a small amount of marijuana while bankers that launder money for drug cartels walk free. In other words, we have moved into an age where we are the slaves and they are the rulers.
Unfortunately, this two-tiered system of government has been a long time coming. As I detail in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, the march toward an imperial presidency, to congressional intransigence and impotence, to a corporate takeover of the mechanisms of government, and the division of America into haves and have not’s has been building for years.
Thus we now find ourselves at a point where, for the first time in history, Congress is dominated by a majority of millionaires who are, on average, 14 times wealthier than the average American. Making matters worse, as the Center for Responsive Politics reports, “at a time when lawmakers are debating issues like unemployment benefits, food stamps and the minimum wage, which affect people with far fewer resources, as well as considering an overhaul of the tax code,” our so-called representatives are completely out of touch with the daily struggles of most Americans–those who live from paycheck to paycheck and are caught in the exhausting struggle to survive on a day-to-day basis.
Indeed, although America is supposed to be a representative republic, these people– who earn six-figure salaries and inhabit a world exempt from parking tickets, where gym membership is free and health care is second-to-none, where you only have to work two, maybe three days a week and get 32 fully reimbursed road trips home a year, travel to foreign lands, discounts in Capitol Hill tax-free shops and restaurants, free reserved parking at Washington National Airport, free fresh-cut flowers from the Botanic Gardens, and free assistance in the preparation of income taxes–neither represent nor serve the American people. They have instead appointed themselves our masters.
While Congress should be America's representative body, too many of its members bear little resemblance to those they have been elected to represent. As Dan Eggen reports for The Washington Post: "The new figures underscore a long-standing trend of wealth accumulation in Congress, which is populated overwhelmingly with millionaires and near-millionaires who often own multiple homes and other assets out of reach for most of the voters they represent."
Many of our politicians live like kings. Chauffeured around in limousines, flying in private jets and eating gourmet meals, all paid for by the American taxpayer, they are far removed from those they are supposed to represent. Such a luxurious lifestyle makes it difficult to identify with the "little guy"–the roofers, plumbers and blue-collar workers who live from paycheck to paycheck and keep the country running with their hard-earned dollars and the sweat of their brows.
The unfortunate but simple fact is that the rich sit perched at the top of the government. As Joseph Stiglitz writes for Vanity Fair:
Virtually all U.S. senators, and most of the representatives in the House, are members of the top 1 percent when they arrive, are kept in office by money from the top 1 percent, and know that if they serve the top 1 percent well they will be rewarded by the top 1 percent when they leave office. By and large, the key executive-branch policymakers on trade and economic policy also come from the top 1 percent. When pharmaceutical companies receive a trillion-dollar gift–through legislation prohibiting the government, the largest buyer of drugs, from bargaining over price–it should not come as cause for wonder. It should not make jaws drop that a tax bill cannot emerge from Congress unless big tax cuts are put in place for the wealthy. Given the power of the top 1 percent, this is the way you would expect the system to work.
Sadly, electoral politics have been so thoroughly corrupted by corporate money that there is little chance, even for a well-meaning person, to affect any real change through Congress. Whether it be the Oval Office or the halls of Congress, the road to the ballot box is an expensive one, and only the wealthy, or those supported by the wealthy, are even able to get to the starting line.
Just consider the 2012 presidential election cycle. Both parties spent $1 billion each attempting to get their candidate elected to the presidency. This money came from rich donors and corporate sponsors, intent on getting their candidate in office. Once in office, these already privileged wealthy bureaucrats enter into a life of even greater privilege, unfortunately at the expense of the American taxpayer. It doesn't even seem to matter whether they're Democrats or Republicans–they all take full advantage of what one news report described as "a mountain of perks that most Fortune 500 companies couldn't begin to rival."
Even President Obama's closest advisers are millionaires, including those on his 15-member cabinet. It is not unusual for some of them to own vacation homes, such as Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, who owns a "summer home worth more than a million dollars."
And then there are the lobbyists, the source of much corruption and exchanging of money in Washington. With an estimated 26 lobbyists per congressman, it should come as no surprise that once elected, even those with the best of intentions seem to find it hard to resist the lure of lobbyist dollars, of which there are plenty to go around.
This lobbying is in turn buoyed by a congressional lifestyle which demands that our representatives spend the majority of their time fund raising for campaigns, rather than responding to the needs of their constituents. In November 2012, the Democratic House leadership offered a model daily schedule to newly elected Democrats which suggests a ten-hour day, five hours of which are dominated by “call time” and “strategic outreach,” including fund raisers and correspondence with potential donors. Three or four hours are for actually doing the job they were elected to do, such as attending committee meetings, voting on legislation, and interacting with constituents.
When half of one’s time is devoted to asking for money from rich individuals and special interests, there is no way that he can respond to the problems, which pervade the country. Even well-meaning Congressmen face a Catch-22 where they are pushed to fundraise to secure their seats, but then once in office, it is basically impossible for them to do their jobs. The full ramifications of this are laid out by Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC):
Any member who follows that schedule will be completely controlled by their staff, handed statements that their staff prepared, speaking from talking points they get emailed from leadership… It really does affect how members of Congress behave if the most important thing they think about is fundraising. You end up being nice to people that probably somebody needs to be questioning skeptically… You won’t ask tough questions in hearings that might displease potential contributors, won’t support amendments that might anger them, will tend to vote the way contributors want you to vote.
What we are faced with is a government by oligarchy–in other words, one that is of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. Yet the Constitution's Preamble states that it is "we the people" who are supposed to be running things. If our so-called "representative government" is to survive, we must first wrest control of our government from the wealthy elite who run it. That is a problem with no easy solutions, and voting is the least of what we should be doing.
"What they don't want," noted comedian George Carlin, is "a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They're not interested in that. That doesn't help them. That's against their interests."
A population of citizens capable of critical thinking? That's a good place to start, and it's a sure-fire way to jumpstart a revolution. As Abraham Lincoln said, "Wise men established these great self-evident truths, that when in the distant future some man, some faction, some interest, should set up the doctrine that none but rich men, or none but white men, were entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, their posterity should look up again at the Declaration of Independence and take courage to renew the battle which their fathers began."
Inspiring words, but what do they really mean for those of us laboring under the weight of an overreaching, militarized, corrupt government that grows increasingly so with each passing day?
How can we change this state of affairs? The government is too big, too powerful, and its overlords too entrenched to willingly give up any of its power or wealth. The wisest option is to employ the tactics of past protest movements such as the Bonus Army, the Civil Rights Movement, and the 1960s anti-war movement, all of which used sleep-ins, sit-ins and marches to oppose government policies, counter injustice and bring about meaningful change.
For example, in May of 1932, more than 43,000 people, dubbed the Bonus Army—World War I veterans and their families—marched on Washington. Out of work, destitute and with families to feed, more than 10,000 veterans set up tent cities in the nation's capital and refused to leave until the government agreed to pay the bonuses they had been promised as a reward for their services. The Senate voted against paying them immediately, but the protesters didn't budge. Congress adjourned for the summer, and still the protesters remained encamped. Finally, on July 28, under orders from President Herbert Hoover, the military descended with tanks and cavalry, beating some protesters senseless and setting their makeshift camps on fire. Still, the protesters returned the following year, and eventually their efforts not only succeeded in securing payment of the bonuses but contributed to the passage of the G.I. Bill of Rights.
Similarly, the Civil Rights Movement mobilized hundreds of thousands of people to strike at the core of an unjust and discriminatory society. Likewise, while the 1960s anti-war movement began with a few thousand perceived radicals, it ended with hundreds of thousands of protesters, spanning all walks of life, demanding the end of American military aggression abroad.
What these movements had was a coherent message, the mass mobilization of a large cross section of American society, what Martin Luther King Jr. called a philosophy of “militant nonviolent resistance” and an eventual convergence on the nation’s seat of power—Washington, DC—the staging ground for the corporate coup, where the shady deals are cut, where lobbyists and politicians meet, and where corporate interests are considered above all else.
It is no coincidence that just prior to his assassination in April 1968, King was plotting “to build a shantytown in Washington, patterned after the bonus marches of the thirties, to dramatize how many people have to live in slums in our nation.”
King’s advice still rings true: “We need to put pressure on Congress to get things done. We will do this with First Amendment activity. If Congress is unresponsive, we’ll have to escalate in order to keep the issue alive and before it. This action may take on disruptive dimensions, but not violent in the sense of destroying life or property: it will be militant nonviolence.”
The balance of power that was once a hallmark of our republic no longer exists. James Madison’s warning that “the accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elected, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny” has, regrettably come to pass.
Clearly, it’s time for a mass movement dedicated to change through “militant nonviolence.” If not, the shadow of tyranny that now hangs over us will eventually destroy every last semblance of freedom.
“We know through painful experience that freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor,” Martin Luther King Jr. warned in his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” “It must be demanded by the oppressed.”
Human nature being what it is, the next Stud Duck in America is bound to be the Top Dog in the NSA. Seriously folks, you don’t really think the scum bags in government are going to be good boys & girls even when they know everything they do and say is being recorded, do you?
Since we already know that video recorded improprieties have been a main tool to control establishment minions for nearly 40 years, and is the reason for the origin of child prostitution and sex slave rings in D.C. and around the country, how long do you think it will take the Top Dog in the NSA to start calling the shots in DC?
Considering that nothing could possibly stop the putrid lifestyles of our leaders from changing, it stands to reason that they will soon acquire a Yahsa-Massa attitude toward the Top Dog, and he will soon have the entire three branches of the UNITED STATES CORPORATION by the short hairs. This will make the International Investment Banksters paranoid, and may cause them to dispatch their assassins if he is foolish enough to collect data on them.
Lesson learned: Even Stud Ducks don’t mess with vultures.
For the one millionth time, I repeat, unless some patriotic military Commander initiates a covert strike on all of the International Investment Banking Cartel, America, and all other Nations’ of free people will be toast! They have already demonstrated their resolve to kill millions, if not billions of us, so someone please make a suggestion on how else we can stop them from assuming totalitarian control of planet earth.
Now, concerning Mr. Whiteheads call to a “Militant Nonviolent Resistance”, if by that he expects us low class citizens to sit passively and let a bunch of traitorous, scumbag, wanatabe killers beat us bloody, or shoot us if we raise a hand in self defense, he is invited to sit on the front row- – – – ALONE! We have had enough of that shit! From now on we will have a back-up armed force ready to protect us from that kind of treatment. A peaceful demonstration does not mean one side gets beat to death while the other gets paid to beat us to death. America needs to wake the hell up and admit, we have been beguiled from the get go, and there is no such thing in America as a Lawful Federal Government, and damn few State governments. By all that’s holy, we should do everything possible to avoid war with these people, but that DOES NOT ENCLUDE PASSIVELY ACCEPTING SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. I am not calling for war on the government or anyone else, but I am telling the world I will not let someone beat me without fighting back, badges and uniforms be damned, and anyone who expects me too can go piss up a rope. If the people in power will not even listen to our petitions, the games over.

You best not be a terrorist or homegrown radical extremist hiding out in the boonies of the Texas wilderness, because if you are you may well come face-to-face with the Parks and Wildlife Department’s newest rapid deployment “Scout Team.”
The unit is made up of 25 highly trained game wardens capable of deploying anywhere in the state of Texas within four hours. Armed with AR-15s, BDUs, and kevlar helmets, the team’s mission according to the TPWD website involves border operations, dignitary protection or any form of high-risk law enforcement, such as serving felony arrest warrants or hostage situations.
As The Dallas Observer’s Brantley Hargrove notes, “the militarization of every possible law enforcement entity in America is complete.”
[The team] is modeled after what military types call a “force multiplier,” which basically means that these guys can shoot a bunch of bullets.
“We’re steeped in tradition and very mindful of our past,” said special ops chief Grahame Jones. “It’s an important part of who we are, but we have to look to the future.”
And the future is a camo AR. Now, if Texas truly intends to secede, it’s got its own military force ready and waiting. We’ve even got a Navy! TPWD has 564 vessels, including a 65-foot gulf patrol ship, and gunboats mounted with .30 cal machine guns.
Maybe we’re a little paranoid here, but doesn’t it strike you as a bit odd that every possible government related entity in this country – be it federal, state or local – is being heavily armed with assault rifles, weaponized drones and battle wagons?
The Social Security Administration, the IRS, the Federal Reserve, property code enforcement teams, and now Parks and Wildlife are all putting Department of Homeland Security’s multi-billion dollar budget to good use.
What, exactly, are these organizations planning for?
Do they know something big is about to go down?
Or is the intention here to strike fear into the populace by instilling in us that America is now a battlefield and the government is ready to go to war with anyone who stands in its way?

McGrath Somebody In Government Is Afraid Of What Is Coming

While the average American may have been convinced that the economy is recovering and happy days are dead ahead, few are talking about the reality of what’s going on behind the scenes. They act as if the crisis of 2008 has long passed, and whatever was responsible for it has now been solved through massive trillion dollar bailout injections.
Most fail to realize how serious of an issue we faced just five years ago, and even fewer understand how close we are to a collapse so incredibly horrific that it could change the very landscape of this country.
For those paying attention to the warning signs, it should be clear that something isn’t right.
Charlie McGrath, of Wide Awake News, weighs in and suggests that not only is the next stage of collapse rapidly approaching, but that our government is fully expecting it.
It was sold to the people of this country that bailouts had to happen, because if they did’t happen we would see pandemonium in the streets.
A recent biography by Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of England, showed just how worried he was if the banks shut down – people couldn’t get their food, they couldn’t get their fuel, they couldn’t get their medicine… there would be literally anarchy in the streets.
We know that never happened. We know that the people of the world were scared into that happening, yet we spent trillions of dollars to rescue these institutions, namely the ones who were not regulated in the first place who caused the problem, who are even larger [now] than they were before…
So what happens when the next crisis hits?
And it could be very, very soon.
If you want to know where we’re going, listen to the words of the President – ‘We’re never going to have another taxpayer supported bailout.‘
I beg to differ. The next bailout is going to come from the taxpayers. We’re not going to call it that. We’re going to call it a bail-in.
All we have to do is look at the Financial Stability Board inside Europe to see what they did and to see the stage that’s been set for the next round of collapse… The people who have their money in the banks are going to be the ones that lose.
This is the agenda going forward.
The Associated Press confirmed in February that the Department of Homeland Security has an open purchase order for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. Armored vehicles have been seen flowing through the streets, drones flying through the air, the expansion of the security industrial complex.
For what? For what?
Somebody in government is afraid of what is coming.
And you can’t believe the lies of this administration of the past or the agenda that’s been put forward to have us believe that this is all to protect us against terror.
Somebody knows what is coming… Is it all just coincidence?

We know the U.S. government security apparatus has been simulating economic collapse scenarios and the fallout that would follow, and this is why they are actively implementing a multi-billion dollar control grid all over this country.
There can be no other explanation for the activities of the Department of Homeland Security, the military and governments on all levels – from local to federal.
In fact, the US Treasury Department just released a report indicating that the nation’s debt crisis could lead to a collapse so catastrophic that it could last more than a generation. Whether that happens on October 17, 2013, or five years from now, it’s only a matter of time.
We’re talking scenarios much more severe than the Great Depression.
But this isn’t just happening in America. Switzerland recently engaged in war games that simulated an economic collapse scenario, as well as an invasion by bankrupted nations and millions of refugees. In 2011, the British government developed plans to evacuate their citizens from European countries in expectation of monetary and economic crisis.
The exercises and drills may be compartmentalized so that most who are partaking in them don’t really know why, but there are those in the higher echelons of power that know very well what the end game is going to be.
None of this is a coincidence.
If you aren’t taking steps to prepare for a new paradigm – one plagued with destitution, riots, starvation and bloodshed – then you are going to be a victim of what’s coming.
Gordon Brown is right. When the economic system breaks down or the dollar collapses food, fuel, and medicine will be nearly impossible to acquire. The experience of Greeks, who saw this first hand, is a perfect example.
The only option for the government at that point will be to control the looting and violence that follows by declaring Martial Law and locking this country down.

The alleged recovery took a direct hit from Friday’s payroll jobs report. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy created 74,000 net new jobs in December.
Wholesale and retail trade accounted for 70,700 of these jobs or 95.5%. It is likely that the December wholesale and retail hires were temporary for the Christmas shopping season, which doesn’t seem to have been very exuberant, especially in light of Macy’s decision to close five stores and lay off 2,500 employees. It is a good bet that these December hires have already been laid off.
A job gain of 74,000, even if it is real, is about half of what is needed to keep the unemployment rate even with population growth. Yet the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the unemployment rate fell from 7.0% to 6.7%. Clearly, this decline in unemployment was not caused by the reported 74,000 jobs gain. The unemployment rate fell, because Americans unable to find jobs ceased looking for employment and, thereby, ceased to be counted as unemployed.
In America the unemployment rate is a deception just like everything else. The rate of American unemployment fell, because people can’t find jobs. The fewer the jobs, the lower the unemployment rate.
I noticed today that the financial media presstitutes were a bit hesitant to hype the drop in the rate of unemployment when there was no jobs growth to account for it. The Wall Street and bank economists did their best to disbelieve the jobs report as did some of the bought-and-paid-for academic economists. Too many interests have a stake in the non-existent recovery declared 4.5 years ago to be able to admit that it is not really there.
I have been examining the monthly jobs reports for a decade or longer. I must say that I am struck by the December report. Normally, a mainstay of jobs gain is the category “education and health services,” with “ambulatory health care services” adding thousands of jobs. In December the net contribution of “education and health services” was zero, with “ambulatory health care services” losing 4,100 jobs and health care losing 6,000 jobs. If memory serves, this is a first. Perhaps it reflects adverse impacts of the ripoff known as Obamacare, possibly the worst piece of domestic legislation passed in decades.
I was also struck by the report that the gain in employment of waitresses and bartenders, normally a large percentage of the job gain, was down to 9,400 jobs, which were offset by declines elsewhere, such as the layoff of local school teachers.
Aren’t Washington’s priorities wonderful? $1,000 billion per year in Quantitative Easing, essentially subsidies for 6 banks “too big to fail,” and nothing for school teachers. It should warm every Republican’s heart.
A tiny bright spot in the payroll jobs report is 9,000 new manufacturing jobs. The US manufacturing workforce has declined so dramatically since jobs offshoring became the policy of American corporations that 9,000 jobs hardly register on the scale. Fabricated metal products, which I think is roofing metal, accounted for 56% of the manufacturing jobs. Roofing metal is not an export. Employment in the production of manufactured products that could be exported, such as “computer and electronic equipment,” and “electronic instruments” declined by 2,400 and 3,500 respectively.
Clearly, this is not a payroll jobs report that provides cover for the looting of the prospects of ordinary Americans by the financial and offshoring elites. One can wonder how the BLS civil servants who produced it can avoid retribution. It will be interesting to see what occurs in the January payroll jobs report.

Perhaps more aptly, it is a tangled web we'll be left trapped in as prey if we do nothing.

What's left of our jobs, food safety, Internet freedom, natural medicine, small farming, choice in medicine, financial regulation, privacy and more. Basically, all your rights. It grants the likes of Monsanto, Wall Street and other huge entities full reign with immunity.
Kiss any last American sovereignty goodbye and say hello to your new global crypto-corpocracy complete with international tribunals and the end of domestic law – from your newly refurbished prison cell, of course. After all, you clicked on the wrong Internet link! And your ISP was watching and reported you. In the near future, this article could be enough to jail me, ban my whole family from the Internet, have computers seized and delete the website. No more videos that piece other clips together, or anything that hints at "infringement," no more fair use, so no more non-corporate news.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a terrible "trade" deal being negotiated in secret by the governments of a dozen countries (including ours) colluding with corporate interests.
Under the TPP, more American jobs would be offshored. Internet freedom would be a joke. Developing countries would lose access to lifesaving medicines. Unsafe foods and products could pour into our country. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The enactment of the TPP will hinge upon the passage of so-called “fast-track trade authority,” which would allow the president to sign off on the TPP before the American people or Congress ever have a chance to read it.
A fast-track bill was introduced in Congress yesterday. So we need to speak out today.

You might think such a far-reaching proposal as the TPP would be subject to intense public debate. But the text of the proposed deal is considered classified by our government and even members of Congress have been given extremely limited access to it.
Yet, while the government has kept the public and Congress largely in the dark about the TPP, it has given 600 corporate advisers access to the full text of the proposal.
We know the little we do know about the deal because drafts of some of its chapters have been leaked. And what we know isn't pretty.
A draft of the "intellectual property rights" chapter of the TPP was leaked recently, and according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, it "reflects a terrible but unsurprising truth: an agreement negotiated in near-total secrecy, including corporations but excluding the public, comes out as an anti-user wish list of industry-friendly policies."1
That's only one chapter, when there are many other chapters that haven't been leaked.
The first stage in the plan to pass the TPP is a big push for Congress to pass fast-track trade authority, which would short-circuit the typical legislative process when trade deals like the TPP come up for a vote.
Pressured by giant corporate interests that stand to make huge amounts of money on the deal, and faced with a public that has purposefully been kept ignorant about this deal, it’s not hard to see how the TPP could be rammed through Congress if fast-track trade authority is in place.
Tell Congress: Say NO to fast-track trade authority.
Fast-track trade authority would allow the president to sign a trade deal before Congress has an opportunity to approve it. Then the president could send it to Congress with the guarantee that it would get an up-or-down vote within 90 day.
Fast track would mean there would be no meaningful hearings, limited debate and absolutely no amendments to the deal. And there would be tremendous pressure on Congress to rubberstamp anything the president signs.
The recently leaked drafter chapter is a huge red flag about the kind of terrible policies the Obama administration wants to include in the TPP.
The Constitution gives Congress exclusive authority over trade. And it would be a deeply irresponsible abdication of responsibility for Congress to pass fast track when we know the TPP is coming down the pike, especially when we know the consequences of the TPP could be disastrous.
It's the job of Congress to fully vet trade deals and ensure they work for everyone, not just giant corporations.

“We don’t have time for this!” exclaimed a police officer as he shot and killed a psychologically troubled, 90-pound teenage boy who had already been tasered and was pinned down beneath two other officers. The victim, 18-year-old Keith Vidal, was “armed” with a screwdriver at the time of his death.
Vidal’s father, Mark Wilsey, had called the police for help when the boy suffered what was described as a psychotic episode on the afternoon of January 5. When the police arrived at the family’s home in Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina, they rendered the kind of “help” for which they have become so notorious – repeatedly tasering the troubled young man until one of them simply shot him as a time-saving measure.
“There was no reason to shoot this kid,” Wilsey told the local NBC affiliate. “We called for help and they killed my son.” During a press conference today (January 6), Wilsey recalled that he was helping the police try to calm down his son when one of the officers fired the fatal gunshot. In addition to killing Vidal, the officer imperiled the lives of several other people – including two of his comrades at risk. He later pointed his gun at Wilsey when the father reacted with predictable pain and outrage over the murder of his son.
There was “no reason” for deadly force, Wilsey points out. “They had Tasers on them, and they didn’t have to even tase him, they could have just talked to him, talked to him another ten minutes.”
Speaking during the press conference, Vidal’s mother urged parents of emotionally troubled children not to place the lives of their loved ones at risk by inviting the intervention of armed strangers clothed in the supposed authority to kill: “Do not call the police department for help – because your son will probably be killed, like mine was.”
This is not the first documented instance in which a police officer has murdered somebody simply because he was in a hurry. During a 2009 incident in a restaurant parking lot, Everett, Washington Police Officer Troy Meade shot and killed Niles Meservey, an intoxicated man whose Corvette had been boxed in by three cars and a chain-link fence.
For about a half-hour, Meade attempted to get Meservey to leave the car. After a taser was used on the 51-year-old man, the driver started his car, which lurched forward into the fence. Although Meservey was able to inflict property damage, he was no threat to anyone. But his intractable non-compliance infuriated Meade to the point of murderous rage.
“Time to end this – enough is enough!” bellowed Meade as he pulled the trigger seven times. Those words were heard by a fellow officer, Steve Klocker, who repeated them in sworn courtroom testimony. Klocker’s defiance of the “Blue Wall of Silence” prompted the political clique afflicting Everett to attempt undermining Klocker’s reliability as a witness – something it wouldn’t have done if the officer had been testifying against a Mundane.
Meade was indicted for second-degree murderer and first-degree manslaughter. The jury that heard the case dismissed the officer’s self-defense claim, which means that the killing was unlawful. Despite the fact that there was no significant material dispute regarding the details of the incident, the jury also acquitted the killer on both counts, owing to the fact that at the time of the killing he was decked out in a costume that confers the right to kill, and immunizes its wearer against legal liability for criminal actions. Meade was set free to resume his career as a dispenser of violence on behalf of the State.
The murder of Niles Meservey, like that of Keith Vidal, began with a helpful phone call from someone concerned about a person not fully in control of his faculties, either because of intoxication or an emotional disturbance. If you believe the best way to help people in such a condition is to kill them, by all means, call the police.
Although the killer has not been identified, Detective Byron Vassey of the neighboring Southport Police Department has been put on “administrative leave” (that is, paid vacation). Vassey arrived on the scene about fourteen minutes after the first officers had responded to the family’s improvident call to the police. Those officers from the Boiling Spring Lakes PD had already informed dispatch that the situation was under control. Seventy seconds after Vassey’s arrival, he radioed dispatch to inform them that “he had to fire shots at the subject in order to defend himself,” summarizes NBC affiliate WECT.

In response to those who criticized the conclusions of the "The President's Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy," Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Earl Warren wrote the following in his memoirs (p. 367):
"Practically all the Cabinet members of President Kennedy's administration, along with Director J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI and Chief James Rowley of the Secret Service, whose duty it was to protect the life of the President, testified that to their knowledge there was no sign of any conspiracy. To say now that these people, as well as the Commission, suppressed, neglected to unearth, or overlooked evidence of a conspiracy would be an indictment of the entire government of the United States. It would mean the whole structure was absolutely corrupt from top to bottom, with not one person of high or low rank willing to come forward to expose the villainy…"
Contrary to Warren's protestations, the government of the United States was corrupt then and remains corrupt now, because it was unwilling to expose "villainy" and is still reluctant to do so; not to guard national security or protect the American people, but to maintain the power of a privileged ruling class.
Authority is the trump card used by the powerful to suppress truth and eliminate opposition. It is an effective tactic whenever a government becomes separate from and unaccountable to the people. Citizens, who question authority in their search for truth, are deemed deranged because of their weakness and, as Earl Warren's quote implies, government is presumed correct because of its power.
As New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison noted, the assassination of President Kennedy demonstrated that many people will believe the most unlikely inventions rather than confront the fact that their government is lying to them. Kennedy's assassination and the subsequent concealment of the facts also proved that there is virtually nothing government officials and journalists will not do to protect those lies once it becomes clear that their deeds have governmental sanction.
The Warren Commission unequivocally stated that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin, who fired a total of three shots in 6.8 seconds from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building using a 6.5 mm Italian Mannlicher-Carcano rifle, even though, for example, the paraffin test of Oswald's face indicated that he had not fired a rifle.
The flaws in the Warren Commission report are far too numerous to enumerate and the evidence is far too flimsy to have resulted in a conviction. Nevertheless, the government and the mainstream media have persisted in granting it credence.
None of that matters, however, because the Warren Commission was not intended to conduct a serious investigation of the Kennedy assassination, but to prevent one, in order to conceal a coup d'état.
Many people believe that Lyndon B. Johnson was installed as President of the United States at the behest of powerful politically- and financially-motivated people; that John F. Kennedy and the patsy Lee Harvey Oswald were executed under the supervision of members of the Central Intelligence Agency who were facilitated by organized crime and officials in Texas; and that Johnson and federal law enforcement, in particular J. Edgar Hoover, orchestrated a cover-up in which the mainstream media willingly participated, all of which continues to this day.
As Garrison stated in his closing arguments in the 1969 prosecution of alleged conspirator Clay Shaw:
"In this particular case, massive power was brought to bear to prevent justice from ever coming into this courtroom. The power to make authoritative pronouncements, the power to manipulate the news media by the release of false information, the power to interfere with an honest inquiry and the power to provide an endless variety of experts to testify in behalf of power, repeatedly was demonstrated in this case. "
It is then only a small step to America's second coup d'état – the conspiracy of silence, disinformation and lies that has descended upon the public discourse regarding all questions related to Barack Obama's eligibility for the Presidency, his personal history, the manner in which he attained high office and the extent to which he is held accountable for his un-Constitutional conduct. Despite the truly enormous historic implications, the politicians and the media actively suppress legitimate inquiry.
The Kennedy assassination and the installation of Barack Obama as President illustrate the conflict between power and truth and demonstrate the capability of government and the media to murder the truth, which could also, ultimately, murder our freedom.
