Ready For War: Parks and Wildlife Officers Now Heavily Armed As Military Style Force Multipliers

You best not be a terrorist or homegrown radical extremist hiding out in the boonies of the Texas wilderness, because if you are you may well come face-to-face with the Parks and Wildlife Department’s newest rapid deployment “Scout Team.”

The unit is made up of 25 highly trained game wardens capable of deploying anywhere in the state of Texas within four hours. Armed with AR-15s, BDUs, and kevlar helmets, the team’s mission according to the TPWD website involves border operations, dignitary protection or any form of high-risk law enforcement, such as serving felony arrest warrants or hostage situations.

As The Dallas Observer’s Brantley Hargrove notes, “the militarization of every possible law enforcement entity in America is complete.”
[The team] is modeled after what military types call a “force multiplier,” which basically means that these guys can shoot a bunch of bullets.

“We’re steeped in tradition and very mindful of our past,” said special ops chief Grahame Jones. “It’s an important part of who we are, but we have to look to the future.”

And the future is a camo AR. Now, if Texas truly intends to secede, it’s got its own military force ready and waiting. We’ve even got a Navy! TPWD has 564 vessels, including a 65-foot gulf patrol ship, and gunboats mounted with .30 cal machine guns.

Maybe we’re a little paranoid here, but doesn’t it strike you as a bit odd that every possible government related entity in this country – be it federal, state or local – is being heavily armed with assault rifles, weaponized drones and battle wagons?

The Social Security Administration, the IRS, the Federal Reserve, property code enforcement teams, and now Parks and Wildlife are all putting Department of Homeland Security’s multi-billion dollar budget to good use.

What, exactly, are these organizations planning for?

Do they know something big is about to go down?

Or is the intention here to strike fear into the populace by instilling in us that America is now a battlefield and the government is ready to go to war with anyone who stands in its way?

McGrath Somebody In Government Is Afraid Of What Is Coming

Mac Slavo

October 9th, 2013

While the average American may have been convinced that the economy is recovering and happy days are dead ahead, few are talking about the reality of what’s going on behind the scenes. They act as if the crisis of 2008 has long passed, and whatever was responsible for it has now been solved through massive trillion dollar bailout injections.

Most fail to realize how serious of an issue we faced just five years ago, and even fewer understand how close we are to a collapse so incredibly horrific that it could change the very landscape of this country.

For those paying attention to the warning signs, it should be clear that something isn’t right.

Charlie McGrath, of Wide Awake News, weighs in and suggests that not only is the next stage of collapse rapidly approaching, but that our government is fully expecting it.

It was sold to the people of this country that bailouts had to happen, because if they did’t happen we would see pandemonium in the streets.

A recent biography by Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of England, showed just how worried he was if the banks shut down – people couldn’t get their food, they couldn’t get their fuel, they couldn’t get their medicine… there would be literally anarchy in the streets.

We know that never happened. We know that the people of the world were scared into that happening, yet we spent trillions of dollars to rescue these institutions, namely the ones who were not regulated in the first place who caused the problem, who are even larger [now] than they were before…

So what happens when the next crisis hits?

And it could be very, very soon.

If you want to know where we’re going, listen to the words of the President – ‘We’re never going to have another taxpayer supported bailout.

I beg to differ. The next bailout is going to come from the taxpayers. We’re not going to call it that. We’re going to call it a bail-in.

All we have to do is look at the Financial Stability Board inside Europe to see what they did and to see the stage that’s been set for the next round of collapse… The people who have their money in the banks are going to be the ones that lose.

This is the agenda going forward.

The Associated Press confirmed in February that the Department of Homeland Security has an open purchase order for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. Armored vehicles have been seen flowing through the streets, drones flying through the air, the expansion of the security industrial complex.

For what? For what?

Somebody in government is afraid of what is coming.

And you can’t believe the lies of this administration of the past or the agenda that’s been put forward to have us believe that this is all to protect us against terror.

Somebody knows what is coming… Is it all just coincidence?

(Watch at Youtube)

We know the U.S. government security apparatus has been simulating economic collapse scenarios and the fallout that would follow, and this is why they are actively implementing a multi-billion dollar control grid all over this country.

There can be no other explanation for the activities of the Department of Homeland Security, the military and governments on all levels – from local to federal.

In fact, the US Treasury Department just released a report indicating that the nation’s debt crisis could lead to a collapse so catastrophic that it could last more than a generation. Whether that happens on October 17, 2013, or five years from now, it’s only a matter of time.

We’re talking scenarios much more severe than the Great Depression.

But this isn’t just happening in America. Switzerland recently engaged in war games that simulated an economic collapse scenario, as well as an invasion by bankrupted nations and millions of refugees. In 2011, the British government developed plans to evacuate their citizens from European countries in expectation of monetary and economic crisis.

The exercises and drills may be compartmentalized so that most who are partaking in them don’t really know why, but there are those in the higher echelons of power that know very well what the end game is going to be.

None of this is a coincidence.

If you aren’t taking steps to prepare for a new paradigm – one plagued with destitution, riots, starvation and bloodshed – then you are going to be a victim of what’s coming.

Gordon Brown is right. When the economic system breaks down or the dollar collapses food, fuel, and medicine will be nearly impossible to acquire. The experience of Greeks, who saw this first hand, is a perfect example.

The only option for the government at that point will be to control the looting and violence that follows by declaring Martial Law and locking this country down.

You can work your butt off providing water for your Mule, but just try and make it drink; good luck! The same scenario applies to warning the people of the coming disaster in America. They are intellectually comatose, and worthless, as far as accepting something bad is coming. All one has to do is try and initiate a friendly conversation with these wantabee soldiers, and you will understand what’s being prepared for. Pick up the phone folks, the house is on fire!

No Jobs For Americans

January 11th, 2014 by

http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2014/01/10/jobs-americans-paul-craig-roberts/

By Paul Craig Roberts

The alleged recovery took a direct hit from Friday’s payroll jobs report. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy created 74,000 net new jobs in December.

Wholesale and retail trade accounted for 70,700 of these jobs or 95.5%. It is likely that the December wholesale and retail hires were temporary for the Christmas shopping season, which doesn’t seem to have been very exuberant, especially in light of Macy’s decision to close five stores and lay off 2,500 employees. It is a good bet that these December hires have already been laid off.

A job gain of 74,000, even if it is real, is about half of what is needed to keep the unemployment rate even with population growth. Yet the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the unemployment rate fell from 7.0% to 6.7%. Clearly, this decline in unemployment was not caused by the reported 74,000 jobs gain. The unemployment rate fell, because Americans unable to find jobs ceased looking for employment and, thereby, ceased to be counted as unemployed.

In America the unemployment rate is a deception just like everything else. The rate of American unemployment fell, because people can’t find jobs. The fewer the jobs, the lower the unemployment rate.

I noticed today that the financial media presstitutes were a bit hesitant to hype the drop in the rate of unemployment when there was no jobs growth to account for it. The Wall Street and bank economists did their best to disbelieve the jobs report as did some of the bought-and-paid-for academic economists. Too many interests have a stake in the non-existent recovery declared 4.5 years ago to be able to admit that it is not really there.

I have been examining the monthly jobs reports for a decade or longer. I must say that I am struck by the December report. Normally, a mainstay of jobs gain is the category “education and health services,” with “ambulatory health care services” adding thousands of jobs. In December the net contribution of “education and health services” was zero, with “ambulatory health care services” losing 4,100 jobs and health care losing 6,000 jobs. If memory serves, this is a first. Perhaps it reflects adverse impacts of the ripoff known as Obamacare, possibly the worst piece of domestic legislation passed in decades.

I was also struck by the report that the gain in employment of waitresses and bartenders, normally a large percentage of the job gain, was down to 9,400 jobs, which were offset by declines elsewhere, such as the layoff of local school teachers.

Aren’t Washington’s priorities wonderful? $1,000 billion per year in Quantitative Easing, essentially subsidies for 6 banks “too big to fail,” and nothing for school teachers. It should warm every Republican’s heart.

A tiny bright spot in the payroll jobs report is 9,000 new manufacturing jobs. The US manufacturing workforce has declined so dramatically since jobs offshoring became the policy of American corporations that 9,000 jobs hardly register on the scale. Fabricated metal products, which I think is roofing metal, accounted for 56% of the manufacturing jobs. Roofing metal is not an export. Employment in the production of manufactured products that could be exported, such as “computer and electronic equipment,” and “electronic instruments” declined by 2,400 and 3,500 respectively.

Clearly, this is not a payroll jobs report that provides cover for the looting of the prospects of ordinary Americans by the financial and offshoring elites. One can wonder how the BLS civil servants who produced it can avoid retribution. It will be interesting to see what occurs in the January payroll jobs report.

No Brainer Course In Derailing The Trans Pacific Partnership

January 10th, 2014 by

The smallest action is bigger than the greatest intention.

1-10-2014 11-54-55 AM

http://www.activistpost.com/2014/01/no-brainer-course-in-derailing-tpp.html

By Heather Callaghan

If you don't know what it is yet – that means it's working. The secrecy, that is. But once Pandora's Box is opened, there's no putting anything back. It will go down in history as one of the worst, oppressive plagues to saturate the planet.

Like Spider Man trying to stop a train from going over with nothing but his strength and shooting threads; we are going to need all the Web we can get to stop the fast-tracking Trans-Pacific Partnership from running over us. Perhaps more aptly, it is a tangled web we'll be left trapped in as prey if we do nothing.

Here's a crash-course and the easiest approach – all guesswork removed. But first, here's a sampling of what you can kiss goodbye if this mammoth piece of legislation goes through…

What's left of our jobs, food safety, Internet freedom, natural medicine, small farming, choice in medicine, financial regulation, privacy and more. Basically, all your rights. It permeates every area of your life, it's been ramrodded through the Senate, and the media is not saying anything. It grants the likes of Monsanto, Wall Street and other huge entities full reign with immunity.

Kiss any last American sovereignty goodbye and say hello to your new global crypto-corpocracy complete with international tribunals and the end of domestic law – from your newly refurbished prison cell, of course. After all, you clicked on the wrong Internet link! And your ISP was watching and reported you. In the near future, this article could be enough to jail me, ban my whole family from the Internet, have computers seized and delete the website. No more videos that piece other clips together, or anything that hints at "infringement," no more fair use, so no more non-corporate news.

It's been shrouded in secrecy, especially from the People and Congress, planned behind closed doors for years, and proponents are searching for sponsors to have the President push it through now that Congress is back from recess.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership n. 1. A "free trade" agreement that would set rules on non-trade matters such as food safety, internet freedom, medicine costs, financial regulation, and the environment. 2. A binding international governance system that would require the United States, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, and any other country that signs on to conform their domestic policies to its rules. 3. A secret trade negotiation that has included over 600 official corporate "trade advisors" while hiding the text from Members of Congress, governors, state legislators, the press, civil society, and the public.

Here's your crash course link on the TPP. You'll be ready for take-off in no time. They've made it that simple:

Expose the TPP

After being mind-blown and catching your breath, you can do the absolute easiest thing there is to do by using Twitter with the hashtag #NOFastTrackTPP (but wait, there's more).

Don't use social media? No problem, scroll down. For social media users, here are the easiest things you can do, besides sharing memes and links on Facebook. Share things to Reddit andStumbleUpon. Everyone should call their reps (below).

See the Twitter storm event – still going. Pull any memes – share. Only use this hashtag for social media:  #NOFastTrackTPP. Using other hashtags and adding more will split the trends.

Next, Tweet your little heart out to your reps and others. Easily find them by clicking the "Discover" button and typing "congressman" in the search. All their Twitter names appear. Find celebrities, they often re-tweet. Example: @repfitzpatrick or @RepBera

Example Tweet:

@RepBera NO to Fast Track Authority and TPP, or we will not re-elect!! ‪#‎NoFastTrackTPP

Here's another: "Do NOT sponsor FastTrack! Vote NO on TPP! ‪#‎NoFastTrackTPP"

Some reps have stood against the TPP, so first you might want to see this:

Spank or Thank?

– OR –

Use a general message for everyone: "I will NEVER support the Trans-Pacific Partnership#NOFastTrackTPP"

Want to jump into the Twitter storm? Easy. Sign up at Twitter, it runs you through a few-second tour and you can figure out the rest, see Help, or ask friends. Use the hashtag #NOFastTrackTPP on Facebook statuses.

Non-Social Media Users:

Find all your representatives' info/forms in one-click. Just click on your state:
Contacting the Congress

Or use this:
Call President Obama: 202-456-6213
Call your Representative: 202-225-3121
or Toll Free (877) 762-8762

E A S Y  S C R I P T:

(Breathe and talk slowly. You will do just fine. Be polite and confident.)

“Hi, this is (your full name). I am a constituent of Rep/Senator (name). I live in (name of city). I am calling to request that Rep/Sen (name) vote NO on Fast Track Authority. It is important to me that Congress follows the Constitutional directive to negotiate international trade and that all trade agreements are given full consideration, debate and amendments as needed.

Do you know Rep/Sen (name) position on Fast Track Authority? Will he/she vote Yes or No? (wait for an answer)

Do you know Rep/Sen (name) position on the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement? Will he/she vote Yes or No? (wait for an answer)

(regardless of their response, just continue)

Once again, I am requesting that Rep/Sen (name) vote NO on Fast Track Authority and NO on the TPP! Please be sure he/she gets my message. Thank you.”

Go to the Crash-Course site and print off PDFs to share. Actually, that whole website is designed to help you take action, online and off. You can still share the hashtag in any way you choose – it gets the point across fast.

URGENT:

If you can target these two reps, you could stop the fast-track today:

Negotiated behind closed doors by the governments of a dozen countries (including ours) colluding with corporate interests, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a massive corporate power grab.

Under the TPP, more American jobs would be offshored. Internet freedom would be a joke. Developing countries would lose access to lifesaving medicines. Unsafe foods and products could pour into our country. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The first step in corporate plan to pass the TPP is something called "fast track trade authority."

Join me in telling Congress to say NO to fast-track track authority. Click the link below to sign the petition:

Stop this massive corporate power grab.

The petition reads:

"Congress: Say NO to fast-track trade authority and other undemocratic attempts to prevent Congress from fully vetting secret trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership. It’s your job to ensure trade deals work for everyone, not just giant corporations, and it would be deeply irresponsible for you to ignore that responsibility by supporting fast-track trade authority."

Bottom of Form

1-10-2014 11-54-55 AM

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a terrible "trade" deal being negotiated in secret by the governments of a dozen countries (including ours) colluding with corporate interests.

Under the TPP, more American jobs would be offshored. Internet freedom would be a joke. Developing countries would lose access to lifesaving medicines. Unsafe foods and products could pour into our country. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Our best shot to stop the TPP is right now.

The enactment of the TPP will hinge upon the passage of so-called “fast-track trade authority,” which would allow the president to sign off on the TPP before the American people or Congress ever have a chance to read it.

A fast-track bill was introduced in Congress yesterday. So we need to speak out today.

Tell Congress: Say NO to fast-track trade authority.

You might think such a far-reaching proposal as the TPP would be subject to intense public debate. But the text of the proposed deal is considered classified by our government and even members of Congress have been given extremely limited access to it.

Yet, while the government has kept the public and Congress largely in the dark about the TPP, it has given 600 corporate advisers access to the full text of the proposal.

We know the little we do know about the deal because drafts of some of its chapters have been leaked. And what we know isn't pretty.

A draft of the "intellectual property rights" chapter of the TPP was leaked recently, and according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, it "reflects a terrible but unsurprising truth: an agreement negotiated in near-total secrecy, including corporations but excluding the public, comes out as an anti-user wish list of industry-friendly policies."1

That's only one chapter, when there are many other chapters that haven't been leaked.

The first stage in the plan to pass the TPP is a big push for Congress to pass fast-track trade authority, which would short-circuit the typical legislative process when trade deals like the TPP come up for a vote.

Pressured by giant corporate interests that stand to make huge amounts of money on the deal, and faced with a public that has purposefully been kept ignorant about this deal, it’s not hard to see how the TPP could be rammed through Congress if fast-track trade authority is in place.

Tell Congress: Say NO to fast-track trade authority.

Fast-track trade authority would allow the president to sign a trade deal before Congress has an opportunity to approve it. Then the president could send it to Congress with the guarantee that it would get an up-or-down vote within 90 day.

Fast track would mean there would be no meaningful hearings, limited debate and absolutely no amendments to the deal. And there would be tremendous pressure on Congress to rubberstamp anything the president signs.

The recently leaked drafter chapter is a huge red flag about the kind of terrible policies the Obama administration wants to include in the TPP.

The Constitution gives Congress exclusive authority over trade. And it would be a deeply irresponsible abdication of responsibility for Congress to pass fast track when we know the TPP is coming down the pike, especially when we know the consequences of the TPP could be disastrous.

It's the job of Congress to fully vet trade deals and ensure they work for everyone, not just giant corporations.

Tell Congress: Say NO to fast-track trade authority.

Thank you for speaking out. Your activism matters.

For Police, Murder is a Time-Saving Device

January 9th, 2014 by

http://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/for-police-murder-is-a-time-saving-device/

1-9-2014 7-41-25 AM

By William Norman Grigg

“We don’t have time for this!” exclaimed a police officer as he shot and killed a psychologically troubled, 90-pound teenage boy who had already been tasered and was pinned down beneath two other officers. The victim, 18-year-old Keith Vidal, was “armed” with a screwdriver at the time of his death.

Vidal’s father, Mark Wilsey, had called the police for help when the boy suffered what was described as a psychotic episode on the afternoon of January 5. When the police arrived at the family’s home in Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina, they rendered the kind of “help” for which they have become so notorious – repeatedly tasering the troubled young man until one of them simply shot him as a time-saving measure.

“There was no reason to shoot this kid,” Wilsey told the local NBC affiliate. “We called for help and they killed my son.” During a press conference today (January 6), Wilsey recalled that he was helping the police try to calm down his son when one of the officers fired the fatal gunshot. In addition to killing Vidal, the officer imperiled the lives of several other people – including two of his comrades at risk. He later pointed his gun at Wilsey when the father reacted with predictable pain and outrage over the murder of his son.

There was “no reason” for deadly force, Wilsey points out. “They had Tasers on them, and they didn’t have to even tase him, they could have just talked to him, talked to him another ten minutes.”

Speaking during the press conference, Vidal’s mother urged parents of emotionally troubled children not to place the lives of their loved ones at risk by inviting the intervention of armed strangers clothed in the supposed authority to kill: “Do not call the police department for help – because your son will probably be killed, like mine was.”

This is not the first documented instance in which a police officer has murdered somebody simply because he was in a hurry. During a 2009 incident in a restaurant parking lot, Everett, Washington Police Officer Troy Meade shot and killed Niles Meservey, an intoxicated man whose Corvette had been boxed in by three cars and a chain-link fence.

For about a half-hour, Meade attempted to get Meservey to leave the car. After a taser was used on the 51-year-old man, the driver started his car, which lurched forward into the fence. Although Meservey was able to inflict property damage, he was no threat to anyone. But his intractable non-compliance infuriated Meade to the point of murderous rage.

“Time to end this – enough is enough!” bellowed Meade as he pulled the trigger seven times. Those words were heard by a fellow officer, Steve Klocker, who repeated them in sworn courtroom testimony. Klocker’s defiance of the “Blue Wall of Silence” prompted the political clique afflicting Everett to attempt undermining Klocker’s reliability as a witness – something it wouldn’t have done if the officer had been testifying against a Mundane.

Meade was indicted for second-degree murderer and first-degree manslaughter. The jury that heard the case dismissed the officer’s self-defense claim, which means that the killing was unlawful. Despite the fact that there was no significant material dispute regarding the details of the incident, the jury also acquitted the killer on both counts, owing to the fact that at the time of the killing he was decked out in a costume that confers the right to kill, and immunizes its wearer against legal liability for criminal actions. Meade was set free to resume his career as a dispenser of violence on behalf of the State.

The murder of Niles Meservey, like that of Keith Vidal, began with a helpful phone call from someone concerned about a person not fully in control of his faculties, either because of intoxication or an emotional disturbance. If you believe the best way to help people in such a condition is to kill them, by all means, call the police.

UPDATE:

Although the killer has not been identified, Detective Byron Vassey of the neighboring Southport Police Department has been put on “administrative leave” (that is, paid vacation). Vassey arrived on the scene about fourteen minutes after the first officers had responded to the family’s improvident call to the police. Those officers from the Boiling Spring Lakes PD had already informed dispatch that the situation was under control. Seventy seconds after Vassey’s arrival, he radioed dispatch to inform them that “he had to fire shots at the subject in order to defend himself,” summarizes NBC affiliate WECT.

America’s Second Coup D’état

January 8th, 2014 by

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/americas-second-coup-dtat?f=must_reads

by LAWRENCE SELLIN, PHD January 7, 2014

1-8-2014 10-12-09 AMIn response to those who criticized the conclusions of the "The President's Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy," Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Earl Warren wrote the following in his memoirs (p. 367):

"Practically all the Cabinet members of President Kennedy's administration, along with Director J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI and Chief James Rowley of the Secret Service, whose duty it was to protect the life of the President, testified that to their knowledge there was no sign of any conspiracy. To say now that these people, as well as the Commission, suppressed, neglected to unearth, or overlooked evidence of a conspiracy would be an indictment of the entire government of the United States. It would mean the whole structure was absolutely corrupt from top to bottom, with not one person of high or low rank willing to come forward to expose the villainy…"

Contrary to Warren's protestations, the government of the United States was corrupt then and remains corrupt now, because it was unwilling to expose "villainy" and is still reluctant to do so; not to guard national security or protect the American people, but to maintain the power of a privileged ruling class.

Authority is the trump card used by the powerful to suppress truth and eliminate opposition. It is an effective tactic whenever a government becomes separate from and unaccountable to the people. Citizens, who question authority in their search for truth, are deemed deranged because of their weakness and, as Earl Warren's quote implies, government is presumed correct because of its power.

As New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison noted, the assassination of President Kennedy demonstrated that many people will believe the most unlikely inventions rather than confront the fact that their government is lying to them. Kennedy's assassination and the subsequent concealment of the facts also proved that there is virtually nothing government officials and journalists will not do to protect those lies once it becomes clear that their deeds have governmental sanction.

The Warren Commission unequivocally stated that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin, who fired a total of three shots in 6.8 seconds from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building using a 6.5 mm Italian Mannlicher-Carcano rifle, even though, for example, the paraffin test of Oswald's face indicated that he had not fired a rifle.

The flaws in the Warren Commission report are far too numerous to enumerate and the evidence is far too flimsy to have resulted in a conviction. Nevertheless, the government and the mainstream media have persisted in granting it credence.

None of that matters, however, because the Warren Commission was not intended to conduct a serious investigation of the Kennedy assassination, but to prevent one, in order to conceal a coup d'état.

Many people believe that Lyndon B. Johnson was installed as President of the United States at the behest of powerful politically- and financially-motivated people; that John F. Kennedy and the patsy Lee Harvey Oswald were executed under the supervision of members of the Central Intelligence Agency who were facilitated by organized crime and officials in Texas; and that Johnson and federal law enforcement, in particular J. Edgar Hoover, orchestrated a cover-up in which the mainstream media willingly participated, all of which continues to this day.

As Garrison stated in his closing arguments in the 1969 prosecution of alleged conspirator Clay Shaw:

"In this particular case, massive power was brought to bear to prevent justice from ever coming into this courtroom. The power to make authoritative pronouncements, the power to manipulate the news media by the release of false information, the power to interfere with an honest inquiry and the power to provide an endless variety of experts to testify in behalf of power, repeatedly was demonstrated in this case. "

It is then only a small step to America's second coup d'état – the conspiracy of silence, disinformation and lies that has descended upon the public discourse regarding all questions related to Barack Obama's eligibility for the Presidency, his personal history, the manner in which he attained high office and the extent to which he is held accountable for his un-Constitutional conduct. Despite the truly enormous historic implications, the politicians and the media actively suppress legitimate inquiry.

The Kennedy assassination and the installation of Barack Obama as President illustrate the conflict between power and truth and demonstrate the capability of government and the media to murder the truth, which could also, ultimately, murder our freedom.

While some “journalists” would have you believe the biggest stories of 2013 were about twerking celebrities and over-hyped real-life courtroom sagas, much bigger events were happening with far more lasting national significance.  The foundation of an American police state is already laid and making its existence known, while most of the country remains blissfully focused on sports, reality shows, establishment pseudo-news, and other distractions.

It would require an encyclopedia to cover all of the injustices, scandals, and brutality that took place in 2013.  This list is designed to illustrate certain trends and significant stories from the past year.  If Americans don’t fix their apathy and disengagement toward causes that matter, we can expect these trends to continue toward their logical conclusions: an increasingly repressive police state dominating the lives people inside these borders and beyond.

The state of the 4th amendment is in truly bad shape, given the prevalence of warrantless checkpoints and warrantless bag searches being used all around the country for various reasons. No longer restricted to airport terminals, the unconstitutional tactics are now being used in subways, bus stations, on bridges, at parades, and anywhere else the government can get away with them. This is facilitated by the palpable fear of terrorism and with financial incentives from the federal government.

In what was dubbed “Operation Independence,” the federal government along with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department staged a high-visibility terror drill in the LA subway this July. Deputies dressed in paramilitary garb teamed up with agents from the TSA and DHS to require travelers to open up their bags and prove their innocence before being allowed to commute. These tactics have sadly become commonplace in many major cities.

Security measures at major events have gotten increasingly invasive. At the annual ‘Mackinac Bridge Walk’ in St. Ignace, Michigan, up to 40,000 walkers were subjected to warrantless bag searches in the interest of event security. In Chicago, warrantless bag searches were performed on public sidewalks during a celebratory parade for the Blackhawks’ hockey championship, and were again performed along the 26-mile track of theChicago Marathon. A famous parade in Pasadena, California, is used as an excuse to search the interiors of hundreds of vehicles who wish to park on public streets.

The “stop and frisk” phenomenon was alive and well in 2013. The appalling practice involves police stopping pedestrians, usually pushing them up against a wall and then patting them down, searching their pockets, and opening up their purses and bags. The practice has been notorious in New York City, which not only has aggressive enforcement on the streets but also allows cops to roam around inside private apartment buildings and search tenants. Stop and frisk is also work in Philadelphia,Detroitnorthwest Indiana, and other areas.

Sobriety checkpoints have been around a long time, but are increasing in offensiveness. Checks for sobriety have turned into opportunities tosearch people’s vehicles. People are sometimes being forced off the roads into parking lots and sniffed with dogs in order to be permitted to continue driving down public streets. Some sobriety checkpoints are being dubbed “no refusal” because anyone who refuses to prove their innocence through a breath test will be strapped down to a table and have their blood forcibly taken from them. New saliva swab analyzers now allows police to detect and arrest people based on on them having things like marijuana and prescription drugs in their systems while driving.

Not to be outdone by local cops, the federal government is setting up checkpoints in reportedly 60 communities to take blood and saliva samples from drivers in a multi-million dollar “survey.”

The reasons for warrantless searches is only limited by the imaginations of the police. There are now regular license and vehicle inspectioncheckpoints, fruit possession checkpoints, firework possessioncheckpoints, tampon possession searches, searches for canned beverages, roadside smog checkpoints, and more.

DoD Program 1033 Militarizing Local Police Departments

1-6-2014 12-45-55 PM

MRAP vehicles

Those who are paying attention are seeing the constant notices of military equipment from overseas war-zones being dispersed to domestic police departments.   These giveaways are usually in the form of armored vehicles (as far as the public knows).  This is all made possible by the Defense Department’s Program 1033.  In place since 1997, the program allows the DOD to give away the equipment — often free of charge — to local police departments who apply for the equipment grants.

This year has been the year of the MRAP, or Mine Resistant Armor Protected vehicle.  For the first time these fighting vehicles, costing an upwards of $600,000 each, are being sent out to American cops, and in rapid fashion.  The hulking trucks, which come with armor plating, gun ports, bullet-proof glass, and a gun turret on top, end up being used on SWAT raids in residential America.

The program dispersed more than half a billion dollars worth of equipment in 2012, and 2013 is expected to keep that pace, if not exceed it.  There is no oversight over Program 1033 and the Department of Defense has never been audited, meaning there is overwhelming room for fraud and abuse.  The U.S. taxpayers have been burdened with purchasing this equipment and now it is being given away without compensation; without auction.  And no one really knows the full scope of the project.

One does not have to look far for examples of local departments becoming militarized.   MRAP acquisitions have taken place in every state, the latest including AlabamaIndiana,  TexasIdahoCaliforniaNew York,North CarolinaSouth CarolinaMinnesotaMichiganIllinois, and Nevada.

To understand the implications of what a militarized police force is capable of, consider the extravagant anti-terror drill performed by LAPD this year at the National Homeland Security Association’s conference in June.  Gunfire echoed through downtown Los Angeles, bombs exploded, and helicopters swooped low among tall office buildings in a demonstrated response to two terrorists in a pickup truck.  Paramilitary police pulled up in a bomb-dropping armored vehicle, and engaged in a mock firefight.  Guests from around the nation and world attended the conference to marvel at militarized law enforcement in action.  The performance was funded by the federal government and was designed to inspire more departments to become militarized.   Footage from the drill is available below:

The TSA Continues to Expand Its Reach

1-6-2014 12-49-04 PM

The Transportation Security Administration had another year characterized by abuse, theft, and violations of civil rights.  There was a steady stream of children being tormentedproperty being stolen, andgenitals being grabbed this year, as usual.  Americans are being searched without probable cause or warrants while being threatened with arrest over loudspeakers if they talk back to the checkpoint agents.  There are too many of these stories to count and this behavior has been standard operating procedure since the TSA was created.  Some of the agency’s recent advancements deserve to be mentioned, however.

Checkpoints are now involving a much deeper look into traveler’s private personal information.  Nothing short of a criminal background check will allow a person to fly in America anymore.  The new security programinvolves gaining access to travelers’ private employment information, vehicle registrations, travel history, property ownership records, physical characteristics, tax identification numbers, past travel itineraries, law enforcement information, “intelligence” information, passport numbers, frequent flier information, and other “identifiers” linked to DHS databases.  The TSA is allowing people to purchase the title of “trusted traveler” if they willingly submit their biometric fingerprint scans into a FBI database, submit to a criminal background check, and pay the TSA a fee of $85.00 for a five-year PreCheck membership.

The TSA has evidently expanded its reach to parking lots this year, after encouraging and overseeing airport security plans that involve opening up parked cars and performing warrantless searches on their interiors.  Although the TSA may not be directly involved with performing these searches, they are approved by the TSA and some airports claim they are mandated by the TSA.

The response of may Americans is to avoid the TSA by ceasing air travel.  This is a shortsighted solution, as the TSA has never been bound to airports.  As one TSA official pointed out, “We are not the Airport Security Administration.”  Indeed, avoiding the TSA became more challenging in 2013, and is bound to become more difficult in the future.

TSA agents are not making regular appearances on other modes of transportation.  Special armed TSA units — known as VIPR teams — are showing up at public venues, sporting events, train terminals, music festivals, rodeos, highway weigh stations in order to “surprise” the terrorists with “suspicionless” searches.  “The security at airports has increased so the bad guys are now traveling on the trains and buses,” said TSA agent George Robinson at a surprise TSA “Spot Checks” at an Austin railway.  The TSA was active in and around the Superbowl this year, one of many places many never expected to see the TSA operating.

To soften their villainous image, the TSA has been spending taxpayer money to produce cartoons designed to propagandize children into accepting warrantless checkpoints.  Getting searched by strangers in uniformed is presented as fun and exciting — and vital to safety.

The Surveillance State, Revealed

1-6-2014 12-51-17 PM

(Warner Brothers)

This year we experienced a lot of mainstream discussion about the breadth of the Federal Government’s domestic surveillance grid, in large part due to the revelations from NSA contractor-gone-rogue, Edward Snowden.  Snowden discovered over the course of his employment with the NSA that the American public was completely unaware of the extent of spying being performed by the government on its own people, and felt compelled to go public.  In June, Snowden went to journalist Glenn Greenwald with up to 200,000 NSA documents to prove what the government was up to.  Greenwald has since released a series of damning articles exposing the NSA spy grid, which have received international attention.

Now officially charged by the U.S. government with espionage, Snowden has been in hiding overseas for over 6 months.  But his leaks have provided valuable insight into the operation of the government.  Its a bit ironic that the man exposing the spy program is labeled the spy, but I digress.

Greenwald’s articles have revealed that the NSA’s modus operandi is to “collect it all,” meaning every collectible form of communication or data. To this end, the NSA has been utilizing what it calls the Prism program, under which the agency has obtained direct access to the systems of Google, Facebook, Apple and other US internet giants.  With this access to internet traffic, the NSA uses a program called XKeyscore, which is surveillance tool that collects “nearly everything a user does on the internet.”  One presentation of XKeyscore claims the program collects the content of emails, websites visited and searches, as well as their metadata.

“I, sitting at my desk,” Snowden said, could “wiretap anyone, from you or your accountant, to a federal judge or even the president, if I had a personal email”.

Another recent leak revealed that the NSA is “getting vast volumes” of records of individual’s physical locations from their cell phones — faster than it can process and store — as the agency surveils the nation’s mobile phone networks.  It goes deeper than that though.  Greenwald reported that the NSA is collecting information about phone calls from millions of Americans daily.  Such information includes the numbers of both parties on the call, their locations, the time, and the duration of all calls made on the network.

Border Security as Oppressive as Ever

The War on Drugs has been the source of incomprehensible levels of injustice, government corruption, brutality, and abuse for decades in the United States.   Although year 2013 represents no marked difference from the status quo, these Drug War abuses constitute far too great a threat to go unmentioned in this list.

We saw countless people imprisoned for non-violent, victimless crimes.  I say countless because the numbers are truly unknown when considering all of the federal, state, county, and city-level jails housing inmates for drugs.   What we do know is that there 1,571,013 prisoners in state and federal prisons in 2012, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.  Of the federal inmates, around half of the prisoners are being locked up because of the War on Drugs.  The number of lives ruined in the name of prohibition cannot possibly be tallied.  Many are going to prison for decades — even life imprisonment — without ever having committed a violent offense.   One such example was the case of Jerry Duval, a farmer who was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for growing marijuana for medicinal use in the manner he was licensed to in the state of Michigan.

The Drug War gives the government the perfect vehicle for expanding its ability to legally steal from citizens, and this year has been no exception.  Thanks to a legal maneuver known as Civil Asset Forfeiture, government agents can confiscate property and cash from anyone that they merely “suspect” of being involved in the drug trade.  Thanks to recent advancements in domestic spying capabilities, the DEA has managed to double its amount of seizures since 2001.  The owners of the seized property don’t even have to be charged with a crime, but often have to spend a small fortune in court to prove their innocence and get their possessions back.  This practice varies across the country, but the prospect of keeping seized property provides a direct incentive for confiscation in any agency where it is used.  For Darren Kent, a disabled widower in New Jersey, Drug War forfeiture could allow police to confiscate his house, his bank account, his 2 vehicles, and other property — all because of illegal plants he allegedly grew in his basement.

1-6-2014 12-57-13 PM

The enforcement of these silly drug laws has become increasingly aggressive and brutal.  When someone is suspected of committing a non-violent drug offense, there is often a team of masked, paramilitary SWAT agents sent in the middle of the night to break down the doors and windows of their home, hold the occupants at gunpoint, and shoot any family pets that dare to challenge their presence.   As one could imagine, this insane policy of “no-knock raids” over drugs leads to an unending torrent of violence and bloodshed inside people’s homes.  In 2013, Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies gunned down 80-year-old Eugene Mallory in his bed during a legal home-invasion to investigate if he was making meth.  Earlier this month, police negligently shot Krystal Barrows, mother of  three, in the head during a drug raid in Chillicothe, Ohio.

In case its not obvious, prohibition laws leave open the legal doorways for many innocent people to feel the brunt of the police state.   In 2013, a family of maple syrup farmers in Illinois was raided on suspicion of making meth.  The Harte family of Kansas says that after buying hydroponics equipment for their indoor garden, police stormed their house in a manner that reminded them of Navy SEALs storming the bin Laden residence.  Urban garden advocate John Kohler, of GrowingYourGreens.com, had his home searched because police thought he might be growing illegal plants in his house.  One does not have to look far for more examples of drug raids gone bad.

Not even the elderly can escape from the harassment of strident drug enforcers have.   Tennessee police pulled over and harassed an elderly couple because their car had a Ohio State University bumper sticker that the police officer thought might represent a marijuana leaf.  A Utah man’s final moments with his recently-deceased wife were rudely interrupted when police barged into his home to confiscate her prescription painkillers.

It should be obvious that drug prohibition gives perverts and sexual predators a convenient place to legally abuse citizens while getting paid to do so.  In June, a story broke about a female driver being asked to lift her shirt and shake her bra multiple times for a police officer who wanted her to prove she didn’t have drugs packed in it.  In Texas, two bikini-clad women were  given cavity searches on the side of the highway.  “You’re going to go up my private parts?” Brandy Hamilton asked the officer.  “Yes, ma’am,” the officer responded, before jamming a finger into each of their crotches with the same glove.

These forced cavity searches were a regular occurrence in 2013, in what can only be described as cases of legal rape.   After rolling a stop sign,David Eckert of Deming, Utah, was detained and taken to a hospital, and for hours he was subjected to manual finger probes of his anus, forced to take an enema and defecate in front of police officers, forcibly X-rayed, and ultimately given a full-blown colonoscopy to attempt to find drugs in his colon.  And this case is not unique.  An American woman returning to the United States from Mexico was detained at the border near El Paso, chained to a hospital bed and given a forcible gynecological exam, involving finger penetration, forced defecation, and X-rays and a CT-scan.  A 26-year-old Oregon man named Jason Barnes was forcibly catheterized by police after he was stopped by police for riding a bicycle without lights.

Stories from 2013 also should have made it glaringly obvious how easy it is to wrongly convict people and ruin innocent lives.  In February, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that “a court can presume” an alert by a drug-sniffing dog provides probable cause for a search, even if the dot is not fully trained and lacks any documentation of its accuracy record.  If animals deciding your fate is not disconcerting enough, consider what happens when the government agents decide to say you possessed contraband when you actually didn’t.   Tens of thousands of drug cases may have been corrupted by a Massachusetts crime-lab chemist namedAnnie Dookhan who collaborated with prosecutors to achieve more convictions.  A Georgia judge ordered police officers to frame a woman with drugs after she refused to have sex with him.  The potential for abusing “possession” laws are endless.

Schools Groom Children for Life in Police State USA

Government schools have always been the source of indoctrination and inadequate education, but the rise of security hysteria and zero-tolerance policies has made them into veritable conditioning centers for life in the American police state.

As a matter of policy in most compulsory government schools, students are subjected to warrantless searches of their bags and lockers, dog sniffs, and are even being forced to give urine samples without probable cause.    Drug enforcement and education takes on a variety of different forms.  In Indiana, police officers subjected a class of 5th graders to a “simulated drug raid” in a “drug awareness” event that resulted in one student getting attacked by the police dog that was demonstrating how it might search children for drugs if the police were crashing a party at someone’s home.

With modern technology, they are being watched and listened under sophisticated surveillance systems, sometimes which are fed directly to police departments.  Some schools are making students carry RFID badgesor use biometric scanners to track attendance and movement.  Their bodies are forced to endure mass-medication at earlier and earlier ages.

Many schools use what have been known as “isolation booths” for children who misbehave, which in practice are tantamount to solitary confinement in a dark closet.

Parking lots are subject to warrantless searches; some so draconian that high school students are getting felonies for leaving pocket knives locked in their cars.   In fact, it is common to have police officers regularly in school so administrators can outsource discipline to courts and jails.  Anundercover cop disguised as a high-schooler in Temecula, California, befriended an autistic boy and convinced him to purchase marijuana in order to arrest him.

The curriculum is unsurprisingly pro-statism, with recent (and glaring) examples involving students being asked to justify repealing amendments out of the Bill of Rights and being taught that government is like “family” and should be obeyed.

In addition, schools are being locked down at every possible opportunity.   A school in Idaho went into “full prison mode” when a student brought afolding shovel.  A Long Island school went into lockdown when a child had a lime green Nerf toy.

The lockdowns are becoming so routine that police departments and schools are running terror drills to make sure they run smoothly.  The El Paso SWAT team staged a “surprise” terror drill in a school in which police charged into the school, used simulated gunfire, and detonated concussion grenades while they took over the school — to the surprise of everyone except for the principal.  A similar terror drill was conducted in aChicago school “in an effort to provide our teachers and students some familiarity with the sound of gunfire.”  An Oregon school hired a man to wear a mask and carry a realistic gun into a faculty meeting and surprise teachers with realistic sounding gunfire in order to test their “readiness.”  In Ohio, a mock hijacking was staged on a school bus containing children so that the SWAT team could practice its explosive rescue techniques.

More Dangerous Decisions from the Supreme Court

SCOTUS made a few rulings in 2013 regarding the police state.  While certainly not the worst court decisions we’ve endured, they can be added to a long list of bad ones.  This year again made it clear that justice appointees from neither party are dedicated to constitutional principles and proper legal interpretations.

In Salinas v. Texas, the court ruled 5-4 that when a suspect doesn’t answer a question during an interrogation, his silence can be used as evidence in court to demonstrate guilt.  Genovevo Salinas was convicted of a 1992 murder.  Salinas cooperated with detectives in answering some questions, but refrained from answering others.  He remained silent when questioned about the murder weapon.  Prosecutors used his silence as evidence of guilt during trial, which has now been upheld by both Texas courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Critics say that this decision has compromised a person’s right to remain silent.

The second case being called to attention is Bowman v. Monsanto.  An Indiana farmer named Vernon Bowman was sued by agri-giant and seed-modifier Monsanto for purchasing seeds from a grain elevator and planting them in his fields.  Monsanto claimed that planting those seeds violated the corporation’s patent rights over them, since they were genetically-modified and considered Monsanto’s intellectual property.  Since Bowman “replicated” the company’s intellectual property, he was sued for nearly $85,000.00 in damages.  Bowman contended that existing patent law did not cover life forms, and that he had broken no laws.  “If they don’t want me to go to the elevator and buy that grain, then Congress should pass a law saying you can’t do it,” said Bowman.

The Supreme Court took up the Bowman case, and disappointingly sided 9-0 with Monsanto.  Rather than accurately declaring that the 120-year-old patent law did not offer any legal coverage of self-replicating seeds as they reproduce in perpetuity, the court made a landmark decision and changed the mechanics of patent law forever without an act of Congress.  This was the very definition of legislating from the bench, and gives corporations the leverage they need to punish consumers for “breaking” laws that don’t really accurately cover modern technologies like genetically-modified lifeforms and computer software.

Lastly was the Maryland v. King case, in which the Supreme Court affirmed 5-4 that a police department may seize DNA as a part of a standard booking procedure — like fingerprinting — for people arrested and accused of a crime.  The DNA may then be put into a database, stored indefinitely, and compared to existing cases, despite the fact that the accused person had not yet been convicted of any crimes.

The Obamacare logo

There are a lot of reasons to object to the compulsion of all individuals to purchase corporate services — also known as the “Affordable Care Act.”  For brevity and relevance, we will focus here on the aspects that increase the power of the police state.

2013 was the last year that Americans could live and breathe in the United States legally without being compelled to insurance packages from private corporations.  Should a person fail or refuse to purchase insurance, he will be subjected to some hefty fines from the federal government, enforced by the IRS.

The fines have been subject to quite a bit of disinformation, and are more significant than most people realize.  A common talking point is that the fines are “only” $95, being spread by disinfo agents on the internet and even official radio ads released by the government.  The part that is being omitted by these people is that the $95 fine is only valid for a small group of low-income taxpayers, for the first year (2014) only.  The fines increase dramatically if the person has an average income or has a family, as well as increasing in stages in 2015 and 2016.

Police State USA discussed the details of the fines in a previous article.  We consider the mandates to be a very serious breach of liberty that come with widespread implications.

We also learned this year that the upcoming health care law will include a considerable amount of privacy concerns.  With the creation of the “Federal Data Services Hub,” a trove of personal information will be collected on all customers and shared among several agencies.  The information “includes, but may not be limited to”: Social Security numbers, income, family size, citizenship and immigration status, gender, ethnicity, email addresses, incarceration records, enrollment status in other health plans, tax information, employment information, patient medical records, pregnancy status, list of disabilities, welfare information, and demographic data (e.g. address, birthdate, physical description…).

All this personal information will be accessible by bureaucrats ranging from the Social Security Administration, the IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Veterans Administration, Office of Personnel Management, the Department of Defense and the Peace Corps. And that is in addition to the Medicaid databases linked to the Hub.  To be forced into a system such as this by is indeed a great detriment to personal freedom.

The Dorner Manhunt

One of the most significant stories of 2013 in was the 9-day manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer, Christopher Dorner.  After 2 people related to a Los Angeles Police Department captain were shot to death, a manifesto was published online — purportedly by Chris Dorner — claiming responsibility for the acts and threatening more violence against the department.  In a city that experiences hundreds of murders per year, this incident would be treated much differently because the targets were police officers.  What followed was a horrifying and shameful display of violence and disregard for civil liberties.

The manhunt that ensued spanned from oceans to mountains, involving participation from local, state, and federal agents.  Roadblocks were set up and vehicles were searched without probable cause; some at gunpoint.  When police narrowed their search to the mountain community of Big Bear Lake, California, they began performing house-to-house searches.  Some 400-600 homes were searched, as reported by CNN and the Los Angeles Times.  The town was blocked off and all vehicles entering and leaving were searched.

1-6-2014 1-11-00 PM

Four days into the manhunt, with tensions high and paranoia abound, police opened fire on innocent people in two separate incidents; both in the LA suburb of Torrance.  The shootings took place minutes apart at separate locations, involving different sets of officers.

The first incident occurred when two newspaper couriers performed their regular delivery route during the early morning hours of February 7th.  Unbeknownst to the two delivery women, their route took them directly past the home of one of the VIPs of the Los Angeles Police Department, which was surrounded by police officers as a preemptive security measure.  Police watched as the truck made drops along the street.  As it drove away from the VIP’s home — making no threat to anyone — eight police officers opened fire at the rear of the truck.  The two terrified women huddled up as over 100 rounds riddled their vehicle; popping the tires, shattering the windows, mangling the steel, and hitting both of their bodies.  Miraculously, both women survived their wounds.

The incident was a breathtaking display of incompetence and unprovoked aggression.  Police had absolutely no idea who they were shooting at.  They were seeking a suspect driving a black Nissan Titan.  The victims were in a blue Toyota Tacoma.  The fugitive was a large, muscular black man with a shaved head.  The victims were two Hispanic women;  one of them 71-years-old.  A total of 102 rounds struck the truck, not counting the other stray shots that whizzed through the residential neighborhood.

(Source: Brad Graverson)

The second incident of unprovoked violence occurred 25 minutes later the same morning.  Around 5:45 a.m., a man driving a black truck was on his way to do some early morning surfing before work.  He was flagged down by two police officers staking out the neighborhood for Dorner.  The officers questioned him, searched his truck, and told him to turn around and head the other direction.  He complied.

Moments later, as he traveled the opposite direction on the same road, another police car approached him from ahead.  He slowed his truck to the side of the road and expected them to pass.  Instead, the police car went into rapid acceleration directly toward him, striking his truck so violently that it knocked one of his wheels off.  Police officers then leapt from their car and opened fire on the truck, riddling the windshield with bullets.  Miraculously, the man survived.

Again, police had no idea who they were attacking.  The victim in this case was a Caucasian man with a small build, and drove a Honda Ridgeline.  None of this matched the description of the suspect, and even if it did match, it would not be justifiable cause to immediately attack.

In both cases, the department defended the actions of the officers, kept them on duty, and concealed their identities from the public.  At least nine officers were involved in the two incidents of unprovoked aggression, and none of them have been held to any semblance of accountability to the public.

The manhunt concluded with Dorner being surrounded in a cabin in Big Bear, California.  Negotiations failed, and gunfire was exchanged.  Police quickly resorted to deliberately burning down the cabin in a Waco-style burn out.  Pyrotechnic teargas was deployed into the structure and set ablaze with the purpose of burning the suspect alive.  Although the sheriff would go on to deny the fire was set intentionally, audio from the incident clearly shows the fire was premeditated and the police had no interest in taking the suspect alive.

The Boston / Watertown Lockdown

The incidents that transpired after the attack at the Boston Marathon were nothing short of egregious with respect to civil liberties.  On April 15th, two small devices made from pressure cookers exploded at the race, killing 3 and wounding hundreds.  An incredible show of force followed, with a deployment of National Guard soldiers all over Boston and rifle-toting police officers standing guard on city streets.   Governor Deval Patrick said that Bostonians should expect random checks of their bags and backpacks while in public.   The governor said that the “enhanced” police presence and warrantless searches would be an “inconvenience” to residents.  Pedestrians were forced to show their identifications to soldiers, bags were searched, and civil rights were generally discarded for the days that followed.

“They can give me a cavity search right now and I’d be perfectly happy,”said one man as he boarded a Boston train.

Police suspected two Chechen brothers as being responsible.  On Friday, April 19th, police encountered one of the suspects and engaged him in a firefight.  The suspect was killed, but his brother remained at large in the Boston suburb of Watertown, Massachusetts.  With this information, over 9,000 police, federal agents, and military personnel from around the country descended upon the the town and put it into complete lock down.  Public transportation was suspended.  Residents were ordered to stay home and “shelter in place.”   Businesses were ordered to remain closed.  Roads were barricaded and no one was allowed to leave the town.

1-6-2014 1-18-51 PM

A Watertown family is ordered out of their home for a warrantless search. (Source: AP / Reuters)

Dramatic photographs began to hit the internet as people remained trapped inside their homes with mobs of police and military filling the streets. Armored vehicles and military Humvees patrolled the town and enforced the lockdown.  Agents began performing warrantless house-to-house searches.  Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform full home searches.  While it was unclear initially if the searches were voluntary, videos of the searches and interviews with the residents make it absolutely clear that some of the searches were absolutely NOT voluntary.

The scenes resembled martial law, a sentiment echoed by Congressman Ron Paul.  View one of the more dramatic raids here:

Complete abandonment of the Bill of Rights took place in order to catch one man.  After the suspect was apprehended — due to a citizen’s tip, not the warrantless searches — crowds of people cheered for the police and chanted “USA, USA, USA!”  Illusions of safety were the only things on their minds.

The first step toward reversing this menacing problem is to spread awareness and create some outrage.  Not nearly enough people care about their rights enough to protect them.  That needs to change, by the influence of a tireless and irate minority.  Those of you reading this and feeling outraged: your direct participation in politics and political organizing is essential.  Start by spreading this article to those who need a wake-up call, and commit yourself to real-life, hands-on activism that goes beyond feeling angry behind your computer.  Activism can take a variety of forms; peaceful, of course.  But that’s a subject unto itself.

Legislating Tyranny

January 6th, 2014 by

http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Opinion/148032-2014-01-04-legislating-tyranny.htm?From=News

By Stephen Lendman

Police state lawlessness reflects official US policy. Numerous examples explain. Congress opposes fundamental freedoms.

It terrorizes most people. So do rogue US administrations. Washington is more ruthless today than ever.

Waging war on humanity is much worse. It's ongoing globally. It's reflected in congressional legislation.

Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF – September 2001) approved open-ended permanent wars. They rage out-of-control. They do so at home and abroad.

The FY 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) targets freedom. It prioritizes militarism and permanent wars. It authorizes over $600 billion for global belligerence, mass killing and destruction.

It's a portion of what America spends overall. Around $1.5 trillion or more annually goes for domestic and foreign militarism.

It's authorized when America's only enemies are ones it invents. It's on top of trillions of dollars of Pentagon waste, fraud and grand theft.

In December 2006, George Bush signed FY 2007 NDAA into law. Included were hidden sections 1076 and 333. Media scoundrels ignored them.

They amended the 1807 Insurrection Act and 1878 Posse Comitatus Act. They prohibited using federal and National Guard troops for law enforcement.

They did so except as constitutionally allowed or expressly authorized by Congress in times of insurrection or other national emergency.

Presidents can now claim emergency powers. They can declare martial law unilaterally. They can suspend the Constitution.

They can do it on alleged "national security" grounds. They can deploy federal and/or National Guard troops on US streets.

They can do it to suppress whatever is called disorder. It includes lawful peaceful protests. America's First Amendment permits them.

Congress and Bush acted unconstitutionally. They did numerous times throughout Bush's tenure. Things got worse under Obama.

On May 21, 2009, he addressed national security and civil liberties issues.

He lied saying his "single most important responsibility as president is to keep the American people safe." He's gone all out to harm them.

He falsely claimed Al Qaeda "is actively planning to attack us again (and) this threat will be with us for a long time…"

Uncharged detainees pose no threat whatever to America. Obama maliciously claimed otherwise. He offered no evidence proving it. There is none. Innocent victims rot in prison on his say. Others are at risk.

He said those "who cannot be prosecuted" will be held indefinitely without trial. Indefinitely means potentially forever.

Doing so violates America's 8th Amendment. It prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. It doesn't matter. Core rule of law principles are null and void. Diktat power replaced them.

In December 2011, Obama signed FY 2012 NDAA into law. For the first time in US history, it codified indefinite military detentions.

It authorized US presidents to order America's military to capture, arrest, and indefinitely detain anyone anywhere in the world. US citizens are as vulnerable as others.

Indefinite detentions remain the law of the land. FY 2013 NDAA reaffirmed them. So did FY 2014 NDAA.

Detaining people based on uncorroborated suspicions or none at all remains official US policy.

It has strong bipartisan support. It violates core democratic freedoms. They're vanishing in plain sight. Militarized injustice replaced them.

Presidents have unchecked authority. No one anywhere is safe. Abuse of power replaced rule of law protections. Tyranny is official US policy.

Foreign nationals and US citizens are vulnerable. They can be arrested for any reason or none at all. They can be indefinitely detained in military prisons.

In September 2012, Southern District of New York federal Judge Katherine B. Forrest blocked Obama's indefinite detention law.

She called it "facially unconstitutional: it impermissibly impinges on guaranteed First Amendment rights and lacks sufficient definitional structure and protections to meet the requirements of due process."

"If, following issuance of this permanent injunctive relief, the government detains individuals under theories of 'substantially or directly supporting' associated forces, as set forth in" NDAA's section 1021, "and a contempt action is brought before this court, the government will bear a heavy burden indeed," she added.

Section 1021 states in part:

"Congress affirms that the authority of the president to use all necessary and appropriate force pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons (as defined in subsection (b) ) pending disposition under the law of war."

"Covered persons" are defined as:

Anyone "who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces."

In July 2013, the New York Second Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Judge Forrest's ruling. A three-judge panel did so unanimously.

They endorsed uncharged, untried indefinite detentions. Imprisoning US citizens and foreign nationals based on hearsay or nothing at all remains the law of the land.

FY 2014 NDAA reaffirmed what demands prohibiting. On December 26, Obama signed it into law. It went further than earlier. Enhancement of Capacity of the United States Government to Analyze Captured Records is authorized.

Doing so establishes new intelligence collecting. It enhances federal power. Indefinite surveillance is authorized.

The defense secretary is empowered to "establish a center to be known as the 'Conflict Records Research Center.' "

It's tasked with compiling "digital research database (information) including translations, and to facilitate research and analysis of records captured from countries, organizations, and individuals, now or once hostile to the United States."

It'll conduct research and analysis to "increase the understanding of factors related to international relations, counterterrorism, and conventional and unconventional warfare, and ultimately enhance national security."

The defense secretary is authorized to create an information exchange cooperatively with the director of national intelligence (DNI).

Doing so requires involvement of all 16 US intelligence agencies, as well as intelligence related operations.

Focus is on so-called "captured records." They're defined as "a document, audio file, video file, or other material captured during combat operations from countries, organizations, or individuals, now or once hostile to the United States."

They potentially include telecommunications, emails, text messages, web sites visited, medical history, financial records, and related information.

Ordinary information can be maliciously manipulated. It can be held against us. Potentially it becomes incriminating evidence.

It does if prosecutors say so. They're experts at creating indictments out of whole cloth. Truth or fiction doesn't matter.

Freedom is too precious to lose. More than ever it hangs by a thread. Constitutional protections don't help.

Alleged hostility is undefined. It's whatever Washington so designates. It includes nations, organizations and individuals. Anyone for any reason or none at all becomes a potential hostile entity.

FY 2014 NDAA sustains America's war on terror. It continues waging war on humanity. It jeopardizes everyone everywhere. It gives presidents more diktat power.

It further compromises fundamental freedoms. It makes everyone potential enemies. It pronounces guilt by accusation. It turns planet earth into a battleground. It does so unconstitutionally.

On January 29, 1788, James Madison commented in The Federalist No. 46 (The Influence of the State and Federal Governments Compared).

He said the way to combat federal overreach is by refusing "to cooperate with officers of the Union."

Resisting tyranny is a longstanding US tradition. Jefferson called doing so "obedience to God."

John Locke said when governments fail people their "trust must necessarily be forfeited, and the Power (shall) devolve into the hands of those that gave it"

America's Declaration of Independence affirmed abolishing governments abusing their just powers derived from the consent of the governed.

Civil disobedience more than ever is essential. Henry David Thoreau affirmed "the right of revolution; that is, the right to refuse allegiance to, and to resist, the government, when its tyranny or its inefficiency are great and unendurable.

America today is more unjust than ever in modern times. Arguably it Resistance is a national imperative. The alternative is full-blown tyranny. It's what no one should accept anywhere anytime.

Gun Confiscation: The New World Order’s New Year’s Resolution

January 4th, 2014 by

By Adan Salazar

Will the Second Amendment be completely eradicated in 2014?

For many Americans, 2013 was the year “gun confiscation” became an undeniable reality, but it has merely set the precedent for what’s to come in 2014.

The Second Amendment represents the biggest obstacle blocking the elimination of individual sovereignty and private property, and is one of the only things preventing a total Homeland Security dictatorship.

However, in states like California and New York, laws restricting firearms have already been passed, and gun confiscation from private citizens is already being forcibly carried out.

As Infowars has furiously documented, numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies have divulged they are being trained to confiscate Americans’ firearms. One Austin politician even flat-out stated this is the ultimate goal behind “gun control” (see below).

These warnings go hand-in-hand with rumors of a litmus test in which commanding officers gauge whether soldiers would feel comfortable firing on Americans who resist orders.

All of this leads us to question how long it will be before the rest of the nation imposes such measures, and begs the question as to whether military and police will ultimately comply with orders to violently engage the public.

Considering the frequency of attacks leveled at the Second Amendment, the question of the new year is: Will the Second Amendment be completely eradicated in 2014?

Here are just a few videos encapsulating the ensuing War on Gun Rights:

Message to Police

Upon noticing the prevailing culture of police brutality, a woman nicknamed “Josie the Outlaw” issued a viral public plea asking police to disobey unlawful orders, including raiding homes without warrants, illegally conducting checkpoints and confiscating Americans’ firearms.

Troops Ordered To Kill All Americans Who Do Not Turn In Guns

Last year, Infowars broke down how the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, eerily containing wording similar to a 1961 State Department memorandum (7277), outlined how “all types of weapons, notably including small arms and light weapons” would be targeted under the guise of preventing war.

Ron Paul Warns of 2nd American Revolution if Obama Bans Guns by Executive Order

Before Congressman Ron Paul left office, he appeared on the Alex Jones Show and asserted that  Americans would view an effort by Obama to confiscate firearms as a “line in the sand.” “I don’t think the American people will (turn in their guns),” Paul stated.

Democratic Official Admits Plan To Confiscate Guns

Back in April of this year, Infowars exposed how Democratic City Council member and the potential next mayor of the City of Austin, Mike Martinez, admitted during an anti-gun rally hosted by Moms Demand Action that the ultimate goal behind their efforts was to “ban guns.”

EMERGENCY ALERT: Soldiers Warn of Coming Gun Confiscation and War Against Patriots

In an interview with Alex Jones in October, former Navy SEAL Ben Smith startlingly claimed members of the military were being questioned as to whether they felt “comfortable disarming American citizens.”

Gun Confiscation Begins In California

Californians have actually been surrendering their firearms since October 2007, according to a Bloomberg article which highlighted how citizens in the Golden State deemed “illegal” were having their guns taken, but in August, we documented how California also produced the label “Armed Prohibited Persons” (APPs) in order to further confiscate legally purchased guns from registered gun owners.

Lt. Col. Wants To Pry Guns From Your “Cold Dead Fingers”

And just this month, we exposed how an Esquire magazine article, written by a decorated military officer, indicated he was more than willing to “pry your gun from your cold, dead, fingers.”

Fortunately, not all is lost. 2013 was also the year the sleeping giant that is the American people became aware of the assault on the Bill of Rights.

After Infowars blew the lid off the DHS’s massive ammo splurges, and after Obama was re-elected, and after the tragedy at Sandy Hook spawned 23 executive orders aimed at firearms, and after Alex Jones sounded the alarm during his appearance on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, gun sales surged to all-time highs and an ammo shortage followed.

These are promising indicators that Americans won’t stand idly by as their gun rights are violated. This “line in the sand” must be firmly held in 2014 and beyond if Americans are to maintain our rights and the Second Amendment intact.

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

Fortunately I’m at the end of my working life and have more time to devote to what is happening to our society, and government. The problem with so much concentration on the destruction of my country is, I am constantly in a rage at those whose opinions differ from those of the founders of America. I simply cannot understand people who have no interest in understanding what is going on in their government, while admitting I was just as guilty as they are in my youth. As a young man I was only interested in providing for my family, and was as ignorant of what the government was doing as most working people are today. That hardly qualifies me as a complainer, but when faced with a government like we now have, all obligations to be as my neighbor is of no importance. As long as I’m alive and you are reading my letters, I’m going to keep on your backside to join me in taking our country back. And the first step in doing that is to fully understand what we are losing, who is taking it, and how they are doing it. That’s why I re-publish the articles of writers who are much more talented and educated than I am. That’s also why I am so disrespectful of those who do not participate. It’s like this folks, if you do not help me and many others save our Nation; that makes you an enemy of my country. Your willingness to sit on the side lines and let other people do all the fighting is not going to cut it with me, because there is too much at stake. We need every able minded person in America to know what’s going on and are willing to die to prevent it.

I know it’s not easy, and I know it’s an up hill battle with many reversals, but the alternative is slavery, and we cannot recover in our life time if we allow it. You simply must read the alternative news media to learn how diverse the enemy really is, and how much power we have allowed them to acquire. And, once you are fully aware of what has been going on, you will be in the same boat as a man or woman whose spouse has been beguiling them for years. Your politicians have been screwing your spouse and you both. And, they intend to add your children to their collection of enslaved souls. They are not interested in protecting you; they are only interested in staying on their real master’s good side. The International Investment Bankers are at the top of the hierarchy, and everyone else either works for them or they are eliminated one by one. My personal opinion of this is, this is a real life and death war, and the least loss of life will be by taking out the stud ducks. If we can convince the military to round all these scumbags up and try them for treason, then hang them by their ankles over a fire and burn them alive, we will have done the world an unforgettable, and unimaginable service. That is the most explicit wording of what needs to be done I can think of, and as horrible as it seems, it is really a global act of mercy for billions of people. If the tyrants must die so the people of all Nations can live free, it is the root of all law. Once you are aware of their tyranny, you will agree.

AND THE DEVIL SAID TO OBAMA!

"He's really sort of the devil. He's completely emotionally detached. He has no empathy. You find that in psychopaths. It's about power with Voldemort. (Lighting Bolt). It's an aphrodisiac for him. Power makes him feel alive." -Ralph Flennes, English Shakespearian Actor

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! The once-proud dragon slayers of the North American Continent, the righteous defenders of freedom who walked with head held high in a land of liberty, are now the prisoners of the dragon and are being beguiled by the false promises of a camouflaged devil, in the hopes of eternal salvation here on earth. But the dragon speaks with a forked tongue. This dragon has uttered lofty words of hope, change, dreams, and of being lifted up by the omnipotent power of the Messianic One. He will wave his magic wand and relieve you of your suffering and wants. He will provide you with jobs, free health care and he will bring peace to the world at last.

After 5 years of this Devil, how is that working out for you?

This purveyor of false dreams appeals to the weakness in man, the weakness in man that seeks salvation by the hand of another, instead of looking into his own heart and mind to extract his own salvation in the manifestation of self-reliance, responsibility and the duty to one's own life. He does this so that he does not become a burden on his neighbor. The man who would bow down to a false savior hoping that this savior will deliver him from poverty, oppression and discrimination, is a man who believes in apparitions and ghosts. Such a man hands over his life to the Devil and in so doing surrenders his will and his freedom, ignorant of the fact that the Devil wants to own him.

America's freedom, the promise of liberty and the pursuit of happiness was not a promise from government to save you from yourself, or to drag you out of poverty, or to protect you from oppression and discrimination, or dip into the public treasury to pay you for your mistakes and transgressions. It was a promise and an absolute contract on government to preserve, protect and defend your individual liberties so that you are "free" to succeed in glory, or fail and rise out of the depths of failure on your own. America's Constitution was not a contract to feed you, or provide you with a job, or "free" health care, that is anything but free. In fact, the Constitution makes no such promise or guarantee.

Government has no Constitutional right to take from me because I am a little better well off than you and hand over my sweat equity to you, because you are not as well off as I. That is pure Marxism. Government has imputed that right by a perversion, strained interpretations or unlawful additions to the Constitution and it has done so with malice aforethought. It has done so to own you and keep you under control and to keep them in power. Unfortunately, most Americans have now become slaves to that very government that had an absolute duty and obligation to defend and maintain their freedom, but instead, with stealth, wrapped them in chains.

So out of the bowels of one of the most corrupt cities in America, came a flawed "savior". In flowery tones and inspirational phrases he spoke of high hopes, attaining unrealized dreams and changes to government that will lift each of us up out of bondage. He uttered words of American pride, strength and a can-do spirit and for those of us who can see through this veil of propaganda and deceit, we know he cares not one whit about American pride, strength and can-do spirit. This man is motivated by one thing and one thing only, power, power over the people. His ego discovered that power when his audiences began to heap praise and applause on his emotionally charged speeches. We are surprised that he has not spread his arms wide to the heavens and parted the Atlantic Ocean.

But should you believe in the promises of the Messianic One, this omnipotent savior with a tortured past, who was blown into national prominence from the Windy City by unseen hands, you will hand your life over to a man who will instead, strip you of your American pride, strength and can-do spirit. Because no one man, or a plethora of men can give you what can only come out of your own heart, mind and soul. Others may reach out and give you a helping hand, but the final thrust to a better life and the pursuit of happiness must come out of what is inside you.

This false prophet and his cast of loyal "angels" have taxed achievement and provided monetary incentives for sloth by executive fiat, or legislative trickery. He negotiates with our enemies who seek to destroy us. By his own words he would disarm America and render her vulnerable to those enemies who would see her in Hell. He has sold American sovereignty on the alter of the one-world-order. He has opened the doors to illegal immigration with the promises of amnesty, in the hopes of enlisting new hordes of socialist voters. He has pandered to the radical environmentalists who, if they get their way, will reduce America to a third-world country and strip her of her pride, dignity, wealth, prosperity, ingenuity, creativity and generosity, not to mention her very freedom.

But take heart! We've taken on Kings before. Back in 1776 we smote the almighty King and kicked he and his army and navy out of America. We had to do it again in 1812, but we did it then too. So what's the big deal? Obama is just another King to smite. Americans are good at that. We will just have to kick out this new King and send his narcissistic bony carcass on a one-way trip to …… well, what do you think ….. maybe Kenya. He'd fit right in there with his brother who lives on $50.00 per year, an illegal aunt and uncle who should be there and a grandmother who swears Obama was born there.

Then, one by one, we'll have to package up the Emanuels, Pelosis, Reids, Schumers, Dodds, Franks, Rangles, Nadlers, Clintons and a whole bunch of other political traitors and send them to say ….. well how about an old, rusting liberty ship, towed out in the Pacific Ocean just above the Mariana Trench (it's 35,000 feet deep there), where they can argue amongst themselves over who is going to run the ship with a dead engine and a leaky hull. Remember how the old liberty ships used to break apart when they broached a big wave? Blub! Blub! No loss there.

Oh, and by the way. Only about 15% of the American people participated in the victory over King George III in the late 17 hundreds. And good ole "Hickory", (General Andrew Jackson) although outnumbered 5 to 1, annihilated the British again at New Orleans in circa 1812, with a bunch of irregulars and a little American guerilla warfare know-how. The British were stunned and then routed in one of their worst defeats in all of their empirical history. Too bad!

However, as usual, in both the 1776 and 1812 wars, the rest of the Americans stood by and watched, or were traitors and ratted on true Americans. So how is that any different than today? We've got all these dependent folk who live in big cities, voting for and hanging on every word that emanates from Obama's lying mouth and ratting on patriotic Americans who live by the principles of liberty. That hasn't changed. We've got the millions who are too cowardly to lift a finger to depose King Obama and his gang of thieves and liars. That's no different. We've got neighbor ratting on neighbor over alleged violations of draconian environmental regulations. Many shameless Americans have turned into a bunch of "tattle talers" in response to the millions of laws our government has passed. Does Hitler's Youth come to mind?

But on the other hand, what we do have is tens of millions of Americans who are getting fed up with the King and his trashing of our constitution, the lying, the irresponsible spending of our money and the increasing of his and the government's power. If we let him have his head, soon he will be King and America will be a fascist country under dictatorial rule. Now how is that any different from Hitler, Stalin or Mussolini? The net result is the same, enslavement ….. if we let him.

Folks, it isn't going to happen. Americans are a funny lot. They'll take the crap off of government for just so long and then, look out. Hell hath no fury than an American scorned and Americans are being scorned by the minute by their government, especially under the IRS and Obama Care, a grandiose wealth re-distribution scheme that has become the liberal's unintentional gift to Conservatives.

We have taken on tyrants before and we have beat them every time. So quit whining about how tough our job is and join in the effort to send these over-educated idiots to the scrap heap where they belong. Sure there is a cost, but remember, "The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance". We just forgot that old adage for about a century. Now it is time to put the "cost" into practice and there is no doubt ….. we can do it.

The NSA, the IRS, Benghazi, Obama Care and the brainwashing of our kids, are all important issues to address. The "Duck Dynasty" controversy is trivia at best. In 2014 and beyond, let's focus on the real issues that deteriorate our freedom and avoid those issues that distract us.

Ladies and gentlemen, no man should hand his life over to another and if he does, he has given into the weakness that inhabits the lower recesses of all men that they must resist if they desire to remain free. With all our power of persuasion, we implore you to not hand over your life and this Country's future to the Devil's advocate that would willingly sell your freedom, individual rights and America's sovereignty down the river.

Look deep into your hearts for the life force that sustains you. That life force will be your salvation. That life force will lift you out of poverty, oppression and discrimination in the land of the free, that is, if we are allowed to remain free. If you bow to their will, government will just enslave you.

In the end, achievement transcends race, religion, creed, oppression, discrimination and yes, even poverty. Achievement and the desire to achieve, flourishes best under the flag of liberty.

We would like to conclude with a poem we wrote several years ago. We hope that it will help you visualize and seek out your own strength so that you will not so willingly hand it over to the false inspiration of the Devil's right hand man, masquerading as a counterfeit Messiah that has mesmerized the naive, unwashed masses of America, who seek salvation by another's hand, where only slavery exists. The poem is called:

THE LIFE FORCE WITHIN ME
© Copyright January 2001, Ron Ewart – All Rights Reserved

In all living things a life force resides.
The will to survive is paramount.
Living is a battle and you have to take sides,
For to do otherwise, the soul that is you will not count.

No matter what life has in store for me,
Each new obstacle shall harden my resolve.
Be it fortress or mountain or just a large tree,
The life force within me will never dissolve.

Should an event cripple me and leave me with one leg.
I shall hop forever if that’s what is demanded of me.
Should somehow I be left with no legs at all,
I will find the strength to slither or crawl.

If I finally end up with no legs or arms,
I will use my teeth to keep up the pace.
When my eyes will no longer show me the way
I will use my ears, or the nerves in my face.

For my destiny is not getting to some temporary place,
Where I cannot stay for but a moment or a smile.
For everyone knows it’s not getting there, it’s the race,
And it’s the life force within me that makes it worthwhile.

When nothing is left but a shallow breath,
And my heart beats with a dying sound.
My mind will look skyward as I wait for death
As the life force within me seeks higher ground.

And when finally the light has gone out of my soul.

I will allow the winds to carry me far.
Because the life force within me has me on a roll,
And I dare not let go on my way to a star.

As you read the poem you may have been thinking that the life force within us has a different name. If that is your bent, we defray to your wisdom.

Our pursuit of happiness and prosperity comes from what lies within inside each of us. In no way is it, or can it be, a free gift from government. For those who look to Obama or government as their savior, they give into their deepest weaknesses. Obama and unrestrained government will enslave you, not free you.

Because of our personal experiences, our next three articles will focus on the IRS with the following titles:

1- "Why Congress Will Never Repeal The IRS"
2- "Why Are Thousands of Producers Not Paying Taxes?"
3- "The Lawsuit That Will Dismantle The IRS"

Stay tuned …..

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

Ron,

Thank you for the best New Years gift I've ever had, AND THE DEVIL SAID TO OBAMA!

If by some freak accident you have read some of the articles I have re-posted on http://anationbeguiled.com and http://anationbeguiled.wordpress.com , you will already know what my opinion is of OBUMA.

I sincerely hope he will be remembered as the first person in history to be hated more than Hitler and Stalin. That he will live a long life of shame, self hatred, and devastating poverty.

For years now I have spent my morning hours looking for articles that will help our obtuse citizens understand the real danger we face as a society, and a Nation, and it has had a terrible effect on me to see so much apathy and acceptance of tyranny in our government.

Where is the spirit of freedom in the minds and hearts of our fellow Americans? Where is the pride of being non-dependent? Where is the outrage after realizing we were beguiled by our teachers and elected leaders? Why are there not fifty million Americans standing in front of the Capital building demanding their country back?

So, it's a real gift to see someone as hurt and outraged as I am by our noctambulous society.

May your words be branded on every Americans mind as I re-post them on both my sites this morning. Happy New Year!

New Hampshire Moves Toward Nullifying NDAA

December 31st, 2013 by

http://www.activistpost.com/2013/12/new-hampshire-moves-toward-nullifying.html

Activist Post

As the National Defense Authorization Act 2014 heads to Obama's desk as an even more draconian piece of legislation than it was previously, states have taken notice and are beginning to intensify their efforts to nullify it.

Michigan was the latest to opt for full nullificationafter Governor Rick Snyder (R) signed bill SB0094 into law.

New Hampshire has now taken a critical step toward nullification with the introduction of their billHB1279, scheduled to be formally presented on January 8th, 2014.

New Hampshire's bill has bipartisan support among its five sponsors, and is based on the model legislation of The Tenth Amendment Center. While other states like Michigan have offered some opposition contained in their legislation, many lack the thorough resistance being proposed by the "Live Free or Die" state of New Hampshire.

The following analysis introduces the bill:

This bill prohibits the state, political subdivisions, and the national guard from participating in enforcement of the counterterrorism detainment provisions of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act.

The full text is as follows:

CHAPTER 642-A3

PROTECTION FROM MILITARY ACTION

642:1 Protection Against Military Action Within New Hampshire. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, no New Hampshire agency, political subdivision, or employee of either acting in his or her official capacity, and no member of the New Hampshire national guard when such member is serving in the national guard, may knowingly engage in any activity that aids an agency of or the armed forces of the United States in the execution of 50 U.S.C. section 1541 as provided by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, Public Law 112-18, section 1021, or any other similar law, order or regulation, in the investigation, arrest, detention, extra-judicial transfer to foreign jurisdictions or entities, military tribunal or trial, of any person within the United States. Nothing herein shall be interpreted to prevent cooperation with federal civilian authorities not acting pursuant to 50 U.S.C. section 1541, as provided by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, Public Law 112-18, section 1021, or any other similar law, order, or regulation.

Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2015.

This type of legislation is essential, as it prohibits the much-needed local cooperation required by such federal dictates as the NDAA. It also closes the gaps left in other states' legislation.

Michael Boldin explains:

It bans indefinite detention assistance to not just the U.S. Armed Forces, but any federal agency. It also broadens the scope beyond the specific sections of the 2012 NDAA to “any other similar law, order or regulation.” (emphasis added) [Source]

The Tenth Amendment Center comments on the significance of the strategy behind their model legislation:

Our research shows that at least 80% of all federal enforcement actions rely heavily on such “partnerships,” and that’s a very conservative estimate.  The Liberty Preservation Act would ban this law enforcement participation.

When the federal government carries out an enforcement action, it not only relies on state or local law enforcement to carry the burden of much of the physical enforcement actions, it also relies heavily on logistics and information-sharing with state agencies.  Whether the information is provided by fusion centers (which are often heavily funded by states and operated by them) or through sharing agreements, the Liberty Preservation Act would ban such actions. It would also ban all logistics assistance, setting up road blocks, putting on handcuffs, use of state or local jail or prison facilities, and the like.

As James Madison said, such a “refusal to cooperate” when done in multiple states can effectively stop federal acts by creating “obstructions which the federal government would hardly be willing to encounter.”

An interactive map of other states that have nullified or propose to nullify the NDAA are available here. Take action in your state now to ensure that the United States as a whole can regain its position as a Republic based on immovable constitutional principles, and show the federal government that any time they attempt to roll out tyranny, we will be there to roll it back.

The federal government, under the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF), claims the power to arrest and detain people within the US and deny them access to courts, attorneys and more.  In short, this is little more than government-sanctioned kidnapping.  To learn more about the 2012 NDAA and indefinite detention, use the links in the sidebar of this page.

The Liberty Preservation Act – and local ordinance – bans participation with or assistance in any way with any federal act which purports to authorize the indefinite detention of a person within the United States.  Passage of the Liberty Preservation Act in your state, county, city and town will create obstacles to implementation that will help thwart the unconstitutional indefinite detention efforts of the federal government. State laws and local ordinances and resolutions are all important pieces of the puzzle to resist and nullify NDAA “indefinite detention.” (model legislation here)

MADISON’S BLUEPRINT

James Madison, known as the Father of the Constitution, gave us a blueprint for stopping federal overreach. In Federalist 46, he argued that a “refusal to comply with officers of the Union” along with other actions at the state and local level would create a situation where the federal government would have an almost impossible time enforcing their acts.   When several states join together and do the same, Madison said  it would “present obstructions which the federal government would hardly be willing to encounter.”

(You can read more about Madison’s blueprint HERE.)

In the Virginia Resolutions of 1798, Madison wrote that “in case of a deliberate, palpable, and dangerous exercise” of power by the federal government, states “have the right, and are in duty bound, to interpose for arresting the progress of the evil.” Thomas Jefferson, in the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798, wrote that “where powers are assumed which have not been delegated, a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy”

“that every State has a natural right in cases not within the compact to nullify of their own authority all assumptions of power by others within their limits: that without this right, they would be under the dominion, absolute and unlimited, of whosoever might exercise this right of judgment for them”

Indefinite Detention represents just the kind of dangerous, palpable evil Madison was talking about, and the assumptions of power that Jefferson was talking about.

Our model legislation is based on the principles and advice of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.   It’s not going to be easy, and there’s no guarantee of success.  But, if we sit back and wait for the federal government to stop its own indefinite detention programs, we’ll wait forever.

So, as those founders advised, we’re taking action without the feds, and taking every step possible to create “obstructions,” and a “refusal to comply with officers of the Union,” as Madison advised.  The goal is to get enough states and localities on board so that indefinite detention is rendered null and void, as Jefferson advised.

INDEFINITE DETENTION REPEALED?

While some believe that the 2013 NDAA eliminated indefinite detention, it did not. Dianne Feinstein introduced a very weak amendment to 2013 – and it failed anyway. 2012 indefinite detention provisions remain intact – and the Obama administration is aggressively defending them in court today.

Last year, Federal Judge Katherine Forrest struck down these indefinite detention powers as unconstitutional and issued a temporary court order blocking their use. That order was revoked by an appeals court and indefinite detention powers remain while the case is currently on appeal but not decided.

Additionally, when Judge Forrest asked Obama administration attorneys if the federal government was using indefinite detention in violation of her temporary order blocking it, they refused to confirm, leaving the door open for potential use of these powers in secret, even in outright defiance of an order from the federal courts.

All attempts to stop indefinite detention on a federal level – in courts and the congress – have so far failed.  It remains the so-called “law of the land” and deserves to be nullified.

SUPREMACY CLAUSE

Some opponents of these efforts claim that the U.S. Constitution’s “supremacy clause” prevents your local community from taking action.  But this is a complete misunderstanding, not only of the supremacy clause, but of the local legislation as well.  There is absolutely ZERO serious dispute about the fact that the federal government cannot “commandeer” the states (or their political subdivisions, local governments) to carry out its laws.  None. Even the Supreme Court has affirmed this multiple times.

In the 1842 case, Prigg v. Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court ruled that States couldn’t be required to help the feds carry out programs to capture and return runaway slaves.

In the 1992 case, New York v. United States, the Supreme Court ruled that Congress couldn’t require states to enact specified waste disposal regulations.

In the 1997 case, Printz v. United States, the Supreme Court ruled that the federal government could not command state law enforcement authorities to conduct background checks on prospective handgun purchasers.

In the 2012 case, National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, the Supreme Court ruled that a significant expansion of Medicaid was not a valid exercise of Congress’s spending power, as it would coerce states to either accept the expansion or risk losing existing Medicaid funding.

In each case, the Supreme Court made it quite clear that, in their opinion, the federal government cannot require the states to act, or even coerce them to act through a threat to cut funding.  Their opinion is correct.  If the feds pass a law, they can sure try to enforce it if they want.  But the states, and your local communities, absolutely do not have to help them in any way.

MOVING FORWARD

While there is no silver bullet to stop Indefinite Detention, you have an option.  Wait for the federal government to give up this power, or resist it in any way possible.

These steps are just the first step of what will likely be a multi-year campaign to resist, refuse to comply, and nullify the unconstitutional indefinite detention regime.

Once these first steps are moving forward in a number of states, the next – more aggressive – levels of resistance can take place successfully.

In the end, Rosa Parks already proved it.  Saying “No!” can change the world.

Papers Please: Homeland Security to Push “National ID” Transit Documents

December 30th, 2013 by

http://godfatherpolitics.com/13785/papers-please-homeland-security-push-national-id-transit-documents/

By Tad Cronn

Beginning in January, the Department of Homeland Security will begin the phased implementation of a national identity card.

Your ID may still look like a state-issued driver's license, but the federal government will require all state IDs to be fully compliant with DHS standards under the REAL ID Act by May 2017.

Some of those standards may seem like a good idea at first blush. For instance, to obtain a compliant ID, a person will supposedly be required to submit a valid birth certificate or proof of citizenship or legal permanent residence.

Considering the porous nature of the U.S. border, this sounds like it may help with the illegal alien problem.

Also, the IDs will have new security features to prevent counterfeiting, they will contain your personal information on both a magnetic strip and a bar code, and the IDs will only be issued in state facilities where all the employees have undergone security and criminal background checks.

This will cause obvious problems in states such as California, where one of the worst-kept secrets is that if you know the right person at the DMV, you can get an ID regardless of validating documents, stories of buying IDs at flea markets are plentiful, and there is a brisk trade in birth certificates and baptism records.

But the DHS push for verified IDs may actually add to the pressure on Congress to pass amnesty for illegal’s, rather than lead to enforcement of our immigration laws. The Democratic Party is desperate to inflate its voter base with the millions of illegal immigrants in this country, and it won't stand for law enforcement officials getting in the way of securing power well into the future.

Another feature of the national ID cards is that they will be compliant with the standards of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

On its surface, compliance with the WHTI will allow you to travel throughout North, Central and South America, including the Caribbean and Bermuda.

The WHTI will be phased in first for air travel, then for ground and sea travel.

Both the WHTI and the national ID are the results of laws passed by Congress in 2004 and 2005 in response to recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.

The big catch to having a WHTI-compliant national ID, though, is that not only is it yet another route for tracking you and putting your personal information in the government's spying apparatus, but any person who doesn't have their ID won't be able to travel anywhere legally. The TSA will prevent you from air travel, with trains and boats soon to follow. Of course, driving anyplace without a license is a good way to get tossed in the slammer already, and hidden in the DHS's security protocols are plans for establishing freeway checkpoints and roadblocks where you will be asked for your papers.

Should any state not comply with the federal regulations, its entire population will be barred from travel until it gets in line.

The day of the free-wheeling American will soon be over. All for your convenience and safety, of course.

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

Now, will you get off your dead ass and get busy in the patriot community? Fifty million people complaining every damn day will drive them out of their cock-roach mind. Learn how to call your State reps, and tell them you will vote them out of the damn country. The alternative is going to be a living hell on earth, as a National I.D. is nothing compared to home searches without restitution for damages.

And these two things are just a drop in the tyrants bucket. Wait until they steal your savings, & retirement accounts, and all you’re other investments. Wait until social services take’s your children away because you let them play outside alone.

The Elite Plan for a New World Social Order

December 28th, 2013 by

http://www.newdawnmagazine.com/articles/the-elite-plan-for-a-new-world-social-order

By RICHARD K MOORE

When the Industrial Revolution began in Britain, in the late 1700s, there was lots of money to be made by investing in factories and mills, by opening up new markets, and by gaining control of sources of raw materials. The folks who had the most money to invest, however, were not so much in Britain but more in Holland. Holland had been the leading Western power in the 1600s, and its bankers were the leading capitalists. In pursuit of profit, Dutch capital flowed to the British stock market, and thus the Dutch funded the rise of Britain, who subsequently eclipsed Holland both economically and geopolitically.

12-28-2013 9-52-50 AM
In this way British industrialism came to be dominated by wealthy investors, and capitalism became the dominant economic system. This led to a major social transformation. Britain had been essentially an aristocratic society, dominated by landholding families. As capitalism became dominant economically, capitalists became dominant politically. Tax structures and import-export policies were gradually changed to favour investors over landowners.

It was no longer economically viable to simply maintain an estate in the countryside: one needed to develop it, turn it to more productive use. Victorian dramas are filled with stories of aristocratic families who fall on hard times, and are forced to sell off their properties. For dramatic purposes, this decline is typically attributed to a failure in some character, a weak eldest son perhaps. But in fact the decline of aristocracy was part of a larger social transformation brought on by the rise of capitalism.

12-28-2013 9-53-47 AM The business of the capitalist is the management of capital, and this management is generally handled through the mediation of banks and brokerage houses. It should not be surprising that investment bankers came to occupy the top of the hierarchy of capitalist wealth and power. And in fact, there are a handful of banking families, including the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, who have come to dominate economic and political affairs in the Western world.

Unlike aristocrats, capitalists are not tied to a place, or to the maintenance of a place. Capital is disloyal and mobile – it flows to where the most growth can be found, as it flowed from Holland to Britain, then from Britain to the USA, and most recently from everywhere to China. Just as a copper mine might be exploited and then abandoned, so under capitalism a whole nation can be exploited and then abandoned, as we see in the rusting industrial areas of America and Britain.

This detachment from place leads to a different kind of geopolitics under capitalism, as compared to aristocracy. A king goes to war when he sees an advantage to his nation in doing so. Historians can ‘explain’ the wars of pre-capitalist days, in terms of the aggrandisement of monarchs and nations.

A capitalist stirs up a war in order to make profits, and in fact our elite banking families have financed both sides of most military conflicts since at least World War 1. Hence historians have a hard time ‘explaining’ World War 1 in terms of national motivations and objectives.

In pre-capitalist days warfare was like chess, each side trying to win. Under capitalism warfare is more like a casino, where the players battle it out as long as they can get credit for more chips, and the real winner always turns out to be the house – the bankers who finance the war and decide who will be the last man standing. Not only are wars the most profitable of all capitalist ventures, but by choosing thewinners, and managing the reconstruction, the elite banking families are able, over time, to tune the geopolitical configuration to suit their own interests.

Nations and populations are but pawns in their games. Millions die in wars, infrastructures are destroyed, and while the world mourns, the bankers are counting their winnings and making plans for their postwar reconstruction investments.

From their position of power, as the financiers of governments, the banking elite have over time perfected their methods of control. Staying always behind the scenes, they pull the strings controlling the media, the political parties, the intelligence agencies, the stock markets, and the offices of government. And perhaps their greatest lever of power is their control over currencies. By means of their central-bank scam, they engineer boom and bust cycles, and they print money from nothing and then loan it at interest to governments. The power of the elite banking gang (the ‘banksters’) is both absolute and subtle…

Some of the biggest men in the United States are afraid of something. They know there is a power somewhere, so organised, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.
– President Woodrow Wilson

The End of Growth – Banksters vs. Capitalism

It was always inevitable, on a finite planet, that there would be a limit to economic growth. Industrialisation has enabled us to rush headlong toward that limit over the past two centuries. Production has become ever more efficient, markets have become ever more global, and finally the paradigm of perpetual growth has reached the point of diminishing returns.

Indeed, that point was actually reached by about 1970. Since then capital has not so much sought growth through increased production, but rather by extracting greater returns from relatively flat production levels. Hence globalisation, which moved production to low-waged areas, providing greater profit margins. Hence privatisation, which transfers revenue streams to investors that formerly went to national treasuries. Hence derivative and currency markets, which create the electronic illusion of economic growth, without actually producing anything in the real world.

For almost forty years, the capitalist system was kept going by these various mechanisms, none of which were productive in any real sense. And then in September 2008 this house of cards collapsed, all of a sudden, bringing the global financial system to its knees.

If one studies the collapse of civilisations, one learns that failure-to-adapt is fatal. Is our civilisation falling into that trap? We had two centuries of real growth, where the growth-dynamic of capitalism was in harmony with the reality of industrial growth. Then we had four decades of artificial growth – capitalism being sustained by a house of cards. And now, after the house of cards has collapsed, every effort is apparently being made to bring about ‘a recovery’ – of growth! It is very easy to get the impression that our civilisation is in the process of collapse, based on the failure-to-adapt principle.

Such an impression would be partly right and partly wrong. In order to understand the real situation we need to make a clear distinction between the capitalist elite and capitalism itself. Capitalism is an economic system driven by growth; the capitalist elite are the folks who have managed to gain control of the Western world while capitalism has operated over the past two centuries. The capitalist system is past its sell-by date, the bankster elite are well aware of that fact – and they are adapting.

Capitalism is a vehicle that helped bring the banksters to absolute power, but they have no more loyalty to that system than they have to place, or to anything or anyone. As mentioned earlier, they think on a global scale, with nations and populations as pawns. They define what money is and they issue it, just like the banker in a game of Monopoly. They can also make up a new game with a new kind of money. They have long outgrown any need to rely on any particular economic system in order to maintain their power. Capitalism was handy in an era of rapid growth. For an era of non-growth, a different game is being prepared.

Thus, capitalism was not allowed to die a natural death. Instead it was brought down by a controlled demolition. First it was put on a life-support system, as mentioned above, with globalisation, privatisation, currency markets, etc. Then it was injected with a euthanasia death-drug, in the form of real-estate bubbles and toxic derivatives. Finally, the Bank of International Settlements in Basel – the central bank of central banks – pulled the plug on the life-support system: they declared the ‘mark-to-market rule’, which made all the risk-holding banks instantly insolvent, although it took a while for this to become apparent. Every step in this process was carefully planned and managed by the central-banking clique.

The End of Sovereignty – Restoring the Ancien Régime

Just as the financial collapse was carefully managed, so was the post-collapse scenario, with its suicidal bailout programs. National budgets were already stretched; they certainly did not have reserves available to salvage the insolvent banks. Thus the bailout commitments amounted to nothing more than the taking on of astronomical new debts by governments. In order to service the bailout commitments, the money would need to be borrowed from the same financial system that was being bailed out!

It’s not that the banks were too big to fail, rather the banksters were too powerful to fail: they made politicians an offer they couldn’t refuse. In the USA, Congress was told that without bailouts there would be martial law the next morning. In Ireland, the Ministers were told there would be financial chaos and rioting in the streets. In fact, as Iceland demonstrated, the sensible way to deal with the insolvent banks was with an orderly process of receivership.

The effect of the coerced bailouts was to transfer insolvency from the banks to the national treasuries. Banking debts were transformed into sovereign debts and budget deficits. Now, quite predictably, it is the nations that are seeking bailouts, and those bailouts come with conditions attached. Instead of the banks going into receivership, the nations are going into receivership.

In his book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, John Perkins explains how the third world has been coerced over the past several decades – through pressure and trickery of various kinds – into perpetual debt bondage. By design, the debts can never be repaid. Instead, the debts must be periodically refinanced, and each round of refinancing buries the nation deeper in debt – and compels the nation to submit to even more drastic IMF diktats. With the orchestrated financial collapse, and the ‘too big to fail’ scam, the banksters have now crossed the Rubicon: the hit-man agenda is now operating here in the first world.

In the EU, the first round of nations to go down will be the so-called PIGS – Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain. The fiction, that the PIGS can deal with the bailouts, is based on the assumption that the era of limitless growth will resume. As the banksters themselves know full well, that just isn’t going to happen. Eventually the PIGS will be forced to default, and then the rest of the EU will go down as well, all part of a controlled-demolition project.

When a nation succumbs to debt bondage, it ceases to be a sovereign nation, governed by some kind of internal political process. Instead it comes under the control of IMF diktats. As we have seen in the third world, and is happening now in Europe, these diktats are all about austerity and privatisation. Government functions are eliminated or privatised, and national assets are sold off. Little by little – again a controlled demolition – the nation state is dismantled. In the end, the primary functions left to government are police suppression of its own population, and the collection of taxes to be handed over to the banksters.

In fact, the dismantling of the nation state began long before the financial collapse of 2008. In the USA and Britain, it began in 1980, with Reagan and Thatcher. In Europe, it began in 1988, with the Maastricht Treaty. Globalisation accelerated the dismantling process, with the exporting of jobs and industry, privatisation programs, ‘free trade’ agreements, and the establishment of the regulation-busting World Trade Organisation (WTO). Events since 2008 have enabled the rapid acceleration of a process that was already well underway.

With the collapse, the bailouts, and the total failure to pursue any kind of effective recovery program, the signals are very clear: the system will be allowed to collapse totally, thus clearing the ground for a pre-architected ‘solution’. As the nation state is being dismantled, a new regime of global governance is being established to replace it. As we can see with the WTO, IMF, World Bank, and the other pieces of the embryonic world government, the new global system will make no pretensions about popular representation or democratic process. Rule will be by means of autocratic global bureaucracies, which will take their orders, directly or indirectly, from the bankster clique.

In his book, The Globalization of Poverty, Michel Chossudovsky explains how globalisation, and the actions of the IMF, created massive poverty throughout the third world over the past several decades. As we can see, with the dramatic emphasis on austerity following the collapse and bailouts, this poverty-creation project has now crossed the Rubicon. In this new world system there will be no prosperous middle class. Indeed, the new regime will very much resemble the old days of royalty and serfdom (the ancien régime). The banksters are the new royal family, with the whole world as their dominion. The technocrats who run the global bureaucracies, and the mandarins who pose as politicians in the residual nations, are the privileged upper class. The rest of us, the overwhelming majority, will find ourselves in the role of impoverished serfs – if we are lucky enough to be one of the survivors of the collapse process.

Today Americans would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government.
– Henry Kissinger speaking at Evian, France, May 21, 1992 Bilderbergers meeting

The End of Liberty – The Global Police State

For the past four decades, since about 1970, we’ve been experiencing a regime-change process, from an old global system to a new global system. In the old system, first world nations were relatively democratic and prosperous, while the third world suffered under police state tyranny, mass poverty, and imperialism (exploitation by external powers). As discussed above, the transition process has been characterised by ‘crossing the Rubicon’ – the introduction of policies and practices into the first world, that were formerly limited, for the most part, to the third world.

Thus debt bondage to the IMF crossed the Rubicon, enabled by the collapse-bailout scam. In turn, mass poverty is crossing that same Rubicon, due to austerity measures imposed by the IMF, with its new bond-holding powers. Imperialism is also crossing the Rubicon, as the first world comes under the exploitative control of banksters and their bureaucracies, a power nexus that is external to all national identities. Unsurprisingly, police state tyranny is also crossing the Rubicon: the imposition of third world poverty levels requires third world methods of repression.

The anti-globalisation movement can be taken as the beginning of popular resistance to the process of regime change. Similarly, the police response to the Seattle anti-globalisation demonstrations, in November 1999, can be taken as the ‘crossing of the Rubicon’ for police state tyranny. The excessive and arbitrary violence of that response – including such things as holding people’s eyes open and spraying pepper into them – was unprecedented against non-violent demonstrators in a first world nation.

Ironically, that police response, particularly as it was so widely publicised, actually strengthened the anti-globalisation movement. As demonstrations grew in size and strength, the police response grew still more violent. A climax of sorts was reached in Genoa, in July 2001, when the levels of violence on both sides began to resemble almost a guerilla war.

In those days the anti-globalisation movement was dominating the international news pages, and opposition to globalisation was reaching massive proportions. The visible movement was only the tip of an anti-systemic iceberg. In a very real sense, general popular sentiment in the first world was beginning to take a radical turn. Movement leaders were now thinking in terms of an anti-capitalist movement. There was a political volatility in the air, a sense that, just maybe possibly, enlightened popular sentiment might succeed in shifting the course of events.

All of that changed on September 11, 2001, the day the towers came down. The anti-globalisation movement, along with globalisation itself, disappeared almost totally from public consciousness on that fateful day. Suddenly it was a whole new global scenario, a whole new media circus – with a new enemy, and a new kind of war, a war without end, a war against phantoms, a war against ‘terrorism’.

Earlier we saw how the orchestrated financial collapse of September 2008 enabled certain ongoing projects to be rapidly accelerated, such as the dismantlement of sovereignty, and the imposition of austerity. Similarly, the events of September 2001 enabled certain ongoing projects to be greatly accelerated, such as the abandonment of civil liberties and international law.

Before the towers had even come down, the ‘Patriot Act’ had already been drafted, proclaiming in no uncertain terms that the police state was here (in the USA) in force and here to stay – the Bill of Rights was null and void. Before long, similar ‘anti-terrorist’ legislation had been adopted throughout the first world. If any anti-systemic movement were to again raise its head in the first world (as it did, for example, recently in Greece), arbitrary police powers could be brought to bear – as much as might be necessary – to put the resistance down. No popular movement would be allowed to derail the banksters’ regime-change designs. The anti-globalisation movement had been shouting, ‘This is what real democracy looks like’. With 9/11, the banksters replied: ‘This is what real oppression looks like’.

The events of 9/11 led directly to the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and in general helped create a climate where invasions of sovereign nations could be readily justified, with one excuse or another. International law was to be as thoroughly abandoned as was civil liberties. Just as all restraint was removed from domestic police interventions, so was all restraint being removed from geopolitical military interventions. Nothing was to stand in the way of the banksters’ regime-change agenda.

The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society… dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values… this elite would not hesitate to achieve its political ends by using the latest modern techniques for influencing public behaviour… Persisting social crisis, the emergence of a charismatic personality, and the exploitation of mass media to obtain public confidence would be the stepping-stones in the piecemeal transformation of the United States into a highly controlled society… In addition, it may be possible – and tempting – to exploit for strategic political purposes the fruits of research on the brain and on human behaviour. – Zbigniew Brzezinski, Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era, 1970

The Post-Capitalist Era – New Myths for a New Culture

2012 might not be the exact year, but it’s difficult to see the endgame lasting much beyond that – and the masters of the universe love symbolism, as with 911 (both in Chile and in Manhattan), KLA 007, and others. 2012 is loaded with symbolism, eg. the Mayan Calendar, and the Internet is buzzing with various 2012-related prophecies, survival strategies, anticipated alien interventions, etc. And then there is the Hollywood film, 2012, which explicitly portrays the demise of most of humanity, and the pre-planned salvation of a select few. One never knows with Hollywood productions, what is escapist fantasy, and what is aimed at preparing the public mind symbolically for what is to come.

Whatever the exact date, all the threads will come together, geopolitically and domestically, and the world will change. It will be a new era, just as capitalism was a new era after aristocracy, and the Dark Ages followed the era of the Roman Empire. Each era has its own structure, its own economics, its own social forms, and its own mythology. These things must relate to one another coherently, and their nature follows from the fundamental power relationships and economic circumstances of the system.

Whenever there is a change of era, the previous era is always demonised in a new mythology. In the Garden of Eden story the serpent is demonised – a revered symbol in paganism, the predecessor to monotheism. With the rise of European nation states, the Catholic Church was demonised, and Protestantism introduced. When republics came along, the demonisation of monarchs was an important part of the process. In the post-2012 world, democracy and national sovereignty will be demonised. This will be very important, in getting people to accept arbitrary totalitarian rule…

In those terrible dark days, before the blessed unification of humanity, anarchy reigned in the world. One nation would attack another, no better than predators in the wild. Nations had no long-term coherence; voters would swing from one party to another, keeping governments always in transition and confusion. How did anyone ever think that masses of semi-educated people could govern themselves, and run a complex society? Democracy was an ill-conceived experiment that led only to corruption and chaotic governance. How lucky we are to be in this well-ordered world, where humanity has finally grown up, and those with the best expertise make the decisions for the whole globe.

Capitalism is about growth, progress, and change. Under capitalism the virtues of ambition, initiative, and competitiveness are praised, because those virtues serve the dynamics of capitalism. People are encouraged to always accumulate more, and never be satisfied with what they have. Under capitalism, people need to have a bit of liberty, and a bit of prosperity, so that the dynamics of capitalism can operate. Without some liberty, ambition cannot be pursued; without some prosperity, how could accumulation be pursued? In the post-capitalist world, the capitalist virtues will be demonised. This will be very important, in getting people to accept poverty and regimentation…

The pursuit of money is the root of all evil, and the capitalist system was inherently corrupt and wasteful. Anarchy reined in the marketplace, as corporations blindly pursued profit, with no concern for human needs or for the Earth. How much more sensible are our production brigades, producing only what is needed, and using only what is sustainable. Capitalism encouraged greed and consumption; people struggled to compete with one another, to ‘get ahead’ in the rat race. How much wiser we are now, to live within our ration quotas, and to accept our assigned duties, whatever they might be, in service to humanity.

In this regime change, ushering in the post-capitalist era, we’re seeing a conscious orchestration of economics, politics, geopolitics, and mythology – as one coordinated project. A whole new reality is being created, a whole new global culture. When it comes down to it, the ability to transform culture is the ultimate form of power. In only a single generation, a new culture becomes ‘the way things are’. And what, we might inquire, might stand in the way of any future manipulations of the cultural regime that the bankster royal family might contemplate?

Ever since public education was introduced, the state and the family have competed to control childhood conditioning – and it is in childhood that culture is transmitted to the next generation. In the micromanaged post-capitalist future, we’ll most likely see the ‘final solution’ of social control, which is for the state to monopolise child raising. This would eliminate from society the parent-child bond, and hence family-related bonds in general. No longer is there a concept of relatives, just fellow members of the hive. The family must be demonised. Already, here in Ireland, there are daily TV spots dramatising the plight of children who are being abused or neglected by their parents…

How scary were the old days, when unlicensed, untrained couples had total control over vulnerable children, behind closed doors, with whatever neuroses, addictions, or perversions the parents happened to possess. How did this vestige of patriarchal slavery, this safe-house den of child abuse, continue so long to exist, and not be recognised for what it was? How much better off we are now, with children being raised scientifically, by trained staff, where they are taught discipline and healthy values.

The Unspoken Truth on 9/11: “September 11, The New Pearl Harbor”

Introduction by Jefferson’s Voice

We have many heroes in our midst and some of the most tireless and courageous are those who have been very active in the 9/11 Truth movement for over ten years.  It is impossible to overstate the importance of recognizing the magnitude of damage done to the American republic from the 9/11 false flag attack.  It was the fulcrum event launching the global war on terror resulting in the deaths of thousands of US soldiers, disabling many more, killing millions of innocent civilians in the middle east and devastating the lives of tens of millions.  The effects at home have been nothing short of catastrophic as (1) a steady metastasis of an encroaching police state eviscerates our Constitution and civil liberties; (2) a black hole of military expenditures accelerates America's trajectory into fiscal insolvency; and (3) as an event that provided a smokescreen for large scale criminal activity to include financial and corporate crime.

The 9/11 false flag could be said to be the second major coup, after JFK's assassination, to be foisted on a mostly unsuspecting American public ultimately intended to deprive us of our God given rights to freedom, dignity, and self determination, gifted to us by the greatest minds of the Enlightenment and the countless men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for generations of Americans.  9/11 spawned a form of malignant cancer on our civilization that must be exposed now at this critical juncture in our collective history.

Thankfully, the 9/11 Truth movement is still working hard to educate the public and has written extensively and produced documentaries to that end.  The most recent 9/11 Truth film "September 11: The New Pearl Harbor" is a brilliant example, utilizing expert researchers who "knock it out of the ballpark" and thus shame disinformation propagandists as establishment buffoons.  While the subject matter is sobering, to say the least, never before have I relished an opportunity to cheer on the "good guys".  Please watch the documentary in full and then share this with everyone you know and in as many internet forums and networks as you possibly can so we can come together as one voice to defend our basic human rights.

May God bless those fighting the good fight for Truth, Justice, and Freedom.

There have been several good films and videos about 9/11. But the new film by award-winning film-maker Massimo Mazzucco is in a class by itself.

For those of us who have been working on 9/11 for a long time, this is the film we have been waiting for.

Whereas there are excellent films treating the falsity of particular parts of the official account, such as the Twin Towers or WTC 7, Mazzucco has given us a comprehensive documentary treatment of 9/11, dealing with virtually all of the issues.

There have, of course, been films that treated the fictional official story as true. And there are films that use fictional stories to portray people’s struggles after starting to suspect the official story to be false.

But there is no fiction in Mazzucco’s film – except in the sense that it clearly and relentlessly exposes every part of the official account as fictional.

Because of his intent at completeness, Mazzucco has given us a 5-hour film. It is so fascinating and fast-paced that many will want to watch it in one sitting. But this is not necessary, as the film, which fills 3 DVDs, consists of 7 parts, each of which is divided into many short chapters.

These 7 parts treat Air Defence, The Hijackers, The Airplanes, The Pentagon, Flight 93, The Twin Towers, and Building 7. In each part, after presenting facts that contradict the official story, Mazzucco deals with the claims of the debunkers (meaning those who try to debunk the evidence provided by the 9/11 research community).

The Introduction, reflecting the film’s title, deals with 12 uncanny parallels between Pearl Harbor and September 11.

The film can educate people who know nothing about 9/11 (beyond the official story), those with a moderate amount of knowledge about the various problems with the official story, and even by experts. (I myself learned many things.)

Mazzucco points out that his film covers 12 years of public debate about 9/11. People who have been promoting 9/11 truth for many of these years will see that their labors have been well-rewarded: There is now a high-quality, carefully-documented film that dramatically shows the official story about 9/11 to be a fabrication through and through.

This is truly the film we have been waiting for.

Part I, II, and III

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

This series of films should be watched by every person in America, and I mean if you do not do everything in your power to watch it and then demand everyone you know watch it, then you are not worthy of calling yourself an American. We can no longer tolerate the people sitting on their hands while America burns to the ground.

The Greatest Gift for All

December 23rd, 2013 by

http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2013/12/23/greatest-gift-paul-craig-roberts/

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

In this world of words there are billions of people vomiting hate and heresy every day and it has a tendency to infect us all. I know for a fact it has me, and that is why I leave writing up to better and smarter men and women than I am. I consider it a gift to re-publish these silver tongued word-smiths, even though I sometimes have the audacity to express my anger. Today I am going to wish everyone regardless of their faith, or lack of it, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, and if that makes you mad, TOUGH SHIT! The reason for this foul attitude is better expressed by one of my betters below.

By Paul Craig Roberts

Dear Readers, thank you for your support in 2013. Although you have kept me working past retirement age, I find it encouraging that there are some Americans who can think independently and who want to know. As Margaret Mead said, it only takes a few determined people to change the world. Perhaps some of you will be those people.

My traditional Christmas column (below) goes back to sometime in the 1990s when I was a newspaper columnist. It has been widely reprinted at home and abroad. Every year two or three readers write to educate me that religion is the source of wars and persecutions. These readers confuse religion with mankind’s abuse of institutions, religious or otherwise. The United States has democratic institutions and legal institutions to protect civil liberties. Nevertheless, we now have a police state. Shall I argue that democracy and civil liberty are the causes of police states?

Some readers also are confused about hypocrisy. There is a vast difference between proclaiming moral principles that one might fail to live up to and proclaiming immoral principles that are all too easy to keep.

Liberty is a human achievement. We have it, or had it, because those who believed in it fought to achieve it. As I explain in my Christmas column, people were able to fight for liberty because Christianity empowered the individual.

The other cornerstone of our culture is the Constitution. Indeed, the United States is the Constitution. Without the Constitution, the United States would be a different country, and Americans would be a different people. This is why assaults on the Constitution and assaults on Christianity are assaults on all of us. There is not much that we can do about these assaults, but we should not through ignorance enable the assaults.

In a spirit of goodwill, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year.
Paul Craig Roberts

The Greatest Gift For All

Christmas is a time of traditions. If you have found time in the rush before Christmas to decorate a tree, you are sharing in a relatively new tradition. Although the Christmas tree has ancient roots, at the beginning of the 20th century only 1 in 5 American families put up a tree. It was 1920 before the Christmas tree became the hallmark of the season. Calvin Coolidge was the first President to light a national Christmas tree on the White House lawn.

Gifts are another shared custom. This tradition comes from the wise men or three kings who brought gifts to baby Jesus. When I was a kid, gifts were more modest than they are now, but even then people were complaining about the commercialization of Christmas. We have grown accustomed to the commercialization. Christmas sales are the backbone of many businesses. Gift giving causes us to remember others and to take time from our harried lives to give them thought.

The decorations and gifts of Christmas are one of our connections to a Christian culture that has held Western civilization together for 2,000 years.

In our culture the individual counts. This permits an individual person to put his or her foot down, to take a stand on principle, to become a reformer and to take on injustice.

This empowerment of the individual is unique to Western civilization. It has made the individual a citizen equal in rights to all other citizens, protected from tyrannical government by the rule of law and free speech. These achievements are the products of centuries of struggle, but they all flow from the teaching that God so values the individual’s soul that he sent his son to die so we might live. By so elevating the individual, Christianity gave him a voice.

Formerly only those with power had a voice. But in Western civilization people with integrity have a voice. So do people with a sense of justice, of honor, of duty, of fair play. Reformers can reform, investors can invest, and entrepreneurs can create commercial enterprises, new products and new occupations.

The result was a land of opportunity. The United States attracted immigrants who shared our values and reflected them in their own lives. Our culture was absorbed by a diverse people who became one.

In recent decades we have lost sight of the historic achievement that empowered the individual. The religious, legal and political roots of this great achievement are no longer reverently taught in high schools, colleges and universities or respected by our government. The voices that reach us through the millennia and connect us to our culture are being silenced by “political correctness” and “the war on terror.” Prayer has been driven from schools and Christian religious symbols from public life. Constitutional protections have been diminished by hegemonic political ambitions. Indefinite detention, torture, and murder are now acknowledged practices of the United States government. The historic achievement of due process has been rolled back. Tyranny has re-emerged.

Diversity at home and hegemony abroad are consuming values and are dismantling the culture and the rule of law. There is plenty of room for cultural diversity in the world, but not within a single country. A Tower of Babel has no culture. A person cannot be a Christian one day, a pagan the next and a Muslim the day after. A hodgepodge of cultural and religious values provides no basis for law – except the raw power of the pre-Christian past.

All Americans have a huge stake in Christianity. Whether or not we are individually believers in Christ, we are beneficiaries of the moral doctrine that has curbed power and protected the weak. Power is the horse ridden by evil. In the 20th century the horse was ridden hard, and the 21st century shows an increase in pace. Millions of people were exterminated in the 20th century by National Socialists in Germany and by Soviet and Chinese communists simply because they were members of a race or class that had been demonized by intellectuals and political authority. In the beginning years of the 21st century hundreds of thousands of Muslims in seven countries have already been murdered and millions displaced, because their religion does not submit to Washington’s hegemony.

Power that is secularized and cut free of civilizing traditions is not limited by moral and religious scruples. V.I. Lenin made this clear when he defined the meaning of his dictatorship as “unlimited power, resting directly on force, not limited by anything.” Washington’s drive for hegemony over US citizens and the rest of the world is based entirely on the exercise of force and is resurrecting unaccountable power.

Christianity’s emphasis on the worth of the individual makes such power as Lenin claimed, and Washington now claims, unthinkable. Be we religious or be we not, our celebration of Christ’s birthday celebrates a religion that made us masters of our souls and of our political life on Earth. Such a religion as this is worth holding on to even by atheists.

As we enter into 2014, Western civilization, the product of thousands of years of striving, hangs in the balance. Degeneracy is everywhere before our eyes. As the West sinks into tyranny, will Western peoples defend their liberty and their souls, or will they sink into the tyranny, which again has raised its ugly and all devouring head?

IS AMERICA IN THE GRIP OF COWARDICE?

December 19th, 2013 by

http://www.newswithviews.com/Ewart/ron132.htm

By Ron Ewart

“There are those that recognize a wrong and act to right it. There are those who "see" the wrong, but do nothing. But unfortunately there are way too many of those who don’t "see" anything at all.” -Ron Ewart

If you were standing on the railroad tracks and you saw a train bearing down on you at high speed, what would you do? If your child was playing next to a cliff and you saw him chasing a ball towards the cliff, what would you do? If 12-18-2013 8-08-54 AMburglaries and thefts were rising in your neighborhood, what would you do? If bullies and thugs took over your town, what would you do? If a man confronted you on the street and demanded your money, what would you do? In most cases you would act swiftly to get out of the way, save your child, take action to stop the neighborhood crime, confront the bully and resist the robber from stealing your money ….. or would you?

What if your neighbor came over one day and said, I need more of your property and I am moving my fence twenty feet onto yours and I'm not going to pay you a dime, what would you do? If your boss said that he has established a new policy of welfare and has decided to take a percentage of YOUR paycheck (not his) and give it to the poor, what would you do? If you were part of an organization that existed on private donations and the board members decided that they were going to use fear, intimidation, threats, lies and propaganda to increase donations, what would you do? If you were a deacon of a church and you discovered that the other deacons were using parishioner money for their own use, or grossly wasting that money, what would you do? If the local school board decided that they were going to include in the curriculum for your children, a course on Earth's salvation that required teaching the kids that their parent's lifestyle was environmental heresy and should be condemned, what would you do?

In all of the above cases, a normal, reasonable and prudent person would set about to right the situation, one way or another and if necessary, he would enlist others to help him, because a normal, reasonable and prudent person has a sense of what is right and wrong. When they see a wrong, they try to right it, provided they have the courage to face those who desire to continue the wrong for their own benefit, or a hidden agenda.

The Revolutionary War righted a wrong and declared freedom in America. The War of 1812 was a continuation of the Revolutionary War and our winning it prevented America, once again, from falling under British rule. The Civil War righted an egregious wrong and ended black slavery ….. well sort of. The first and second World Wars righted international wrongs against human life, dignity and individual rights. These wrongs were righted by courageous leaders and individuals who knew that they might have to make the ultimate sacrifice to right those wrongs.

Today, we have a litany of wrongs that need to be righted, right here in America. We have government perpetrating on the people the same "wrongs" that we mentioned above, that a normal, reasonable and prudent person would take immediate action to right, when the wrong was recognized.

Why then would the normal, reasonable and prudent people of America turn their heads when their government commits the same wrongs as the neighbor, the bully, the boss, the board members, or the deacons, but on a much grander scale? Why indeed!

Americans, by the millions, are getting hammered by Obama Care through no fault of their own. Why do they take it? Why isn't there a massive uprising? Why aren't lawsuits flying all over the place? Why aren't the people demanding that heads roll with the large, unified voice of millions?

Our school children are being brainwashed and indoctrinated by a federal government-created curriculum (Common Core Standards, Race To the Top and No Child Left Behind programs) that emphasize socialism, collectivism and multi-culturalism. Why aren't the parents crying foul? Why don't they take over the local school boards and reverse this garbage? Why aren't they at the state legislatures creating all kinds of Hell? Do they just not care ….. or are they afraid?

Landowners are being treated like criminals and going to jail for minor code violations on THEIR property. They are forced to fight a tyrannical government, whether it be local, state, or federal, all on their own. They seldom win. But you never hear of these individual battles waged against an arrogant and abusive government, a government that has become the master instead of the servant, a government that blatantly ignores the constitutional limits on its power.

The IRS targets conservatives for political purposes and the president and congress promise a full and complete investigation. The FBI says they are investigating. Nothing happens. Why aren't the people, en masse, demanding answers and not taking a "we're-investigating" as the answer? Why aren't IRS officers, employees and agents being tried in court, fined and incarcerated for long periods for their known criminal acts? Why do Americans tolerate this injustice? Do we enjoy being slaves to the IRS? Have we all become cowards and unwilling to challenge tyranny when it arises?

Four of our diplomats are killed in Benghazi well over a year ago, due to government negligence and neglect. No one in government provided the necessary security, asked for by the diplomats. No one came to their rescue during the attack. No one is being held accountable for the criminal negligence that allowed the attack to happen. Congress is investigating. The Obama Administration is stonewalling and obstructing. Nothing is happening. No one is fired. No one is in jail. Where is the outcry for four dead brave Americans who paid the ultimate price because their government failed them? Have we lost our courage to right a wrong when we recognize it?

Then there are the Fast and Furious and the NSA scandals. In the Fast and Furious scandal, U. S. Attorney General Eric Holder, the top law enforcement officer of America, has been shielded by his boss, our liar-in-chief Barack Hussein Obama, who has declared executive privilege and won't release the documents that Congress has requested to find out who the Hell allowed Fast and Furious to happen in the first place. One of our brave border agents was killed by one of those guns in this gun- running scandal. Has anyone been fired? Has anyone gone to jail? Holder lied to Congress, which is a crime, but he gets off scot-free. The Congress seems to be powerless to stop him or put him in jail for this crime.

The NSA says it isn't spying on us, but it probably is, based on releases by ex-NSA staffer Edward Snowden, who now resides in Russia fearing for his life. Is he a patriot or a traitor? We don’t know. The public simply does not know the depths of NSA spying and how much data it is really collecting. NSA Chief James Clapper lied to Congress and that's a crime. But he is running around loose, free as a bird, telling the public that the NSA isn't really spying on us. Yeah, and President Obama says you can keep your doctor and your health care plan and health care costs are going to go down! Sure!

Why aren't Americans rising up by the millions to find out the truth? Once again, why haven't there been multiple lawsuits by harmed individuals over these egregious violations of our constitutional rights? There should be class action lawsuits exploding all over the place? Why aren't there?

Winston Churchill said at a time of great sacrifice and often quoted: “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

We do not believe that America is in the grips of cowardice because after all, we are Americans. We have a chance to right these wrongs peacefully, before the only action left to us is war. But do we have the will, the courage, the commitment and the resources to right these wrongs before war is our only option? Or, "Will we have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

The abject failure of Obama Care has opened millions of eyes to the flawed policies of liberals and progressives that have foisted these policies upon all Americans, doing great harm. If we do not act on this knowledge with the courage of our convictions and quit trying to compromise our beliefs because liberals have more votes, then we will have let over 200 years of freedom slip through our fingers. Ladies and gentlemen, there are other ways to fight these criminals, than at the ballot box.

Future generations will damn us for our cowardice in the face of danger because they will say we knew and did nothing. They will ultimately pay the price in money and eventually in blood, if we let them down.

If the people are afraid, as so many Americans are, and let the bully (government) win, the bully will win all the time and the bully is winning and has been winning for over 100 years ….. not just for the 5 years under the Obama regime. It's the people that let the bully win, out of fear and cowardice. Unless the people stand up en masse, as we are "standing up" with our articles, there will be no restoration of freedom.

Let us all promise that in the year 2014 and from then on, courage will return to those who have allowed easy times and a chicken in every pot to cloud their vision about the huge price that was paid for their freedom and the price that now must be paid to reclaim it, because we chose to look the other way when tyranny raised its ugly head.

In closing, we want to wish each of our readers a very special Christmas holiday with friends and family, at a time of giving and love, as well as the religious celebration it was designed to be for 150 years.

This will be our last article for the year 2013. We will take up the torch of freedom starting on the first Sunday of January, 2014. In the interim, we encourage you to take the time to visit our two websites that are dedicated to the protection of our property rights (http://www.narlo.org) and to exposing the arrogance, fraud, abuse and corruption of the IRS (http://www.attackwatchspies.com). Each website contains a wealth of valuable information and not just for rural landowners, or disgruntled taxpayers.

In liberty, until Sunday, January 5, 2014 …..

Latest Atrocity in Syria Death Squads Bake Civilians in Ovens

December 17th, 2013 by

http://www.activistpost.com/2013/12/latest-atrocity-in-syria-death-squads.html#more

By Brandon Turbeville

On December 14, it was reported by Ziad Fadel of Syrian Perspective that death squads operating in Syria had once again committed a massacre against civilians, this time in a town known as Adra. Fadel claimed that Christians, Druze, and Alawites had been specifically targeted and that many had been killed by being burned alive in bakery ovens.

On December 16, RT confirmed Syrian Perspective’s reports both of the massacre by the death squads, as well as the gruesome methods used to kill some of the victims.

At this time, it is being reported that at least 80 civilians have been executed by death squad forces currently occupying Adraa, a town located northwest of Damascus. Like the Maaloula nuns, many other civilians have been kidnapped in order to be held for ransom or as human shields.

RT Arabic correspondent Abultaleb Albohaya, reporting on the ground in Syria, stated,

For now it’s established that over 80 people were killed in the areas now taken over by the army. Often whole families were murdered.

[…]

Some families were kidnapped in order to be used as human shields in areas where the Syrian army is now trying to free the civilians.

The military sources also said that the other kidnapped families were moved to the area south of Adra in the direction of the town of Douma, which has been the opposition’s strategic backland since the start of the Syrian crisis [in March, 2011]. It’s also where the most important rebel fortifications are situated.

A local resident told RT about the manner in which some of the victims were killed as well as the identity of the killers.

The situation was terrible – with killing, atrocities, and fear as the background.

Unidentified armed men came into town, but it was obvious that they were Jabhat al-Nusra militants.

The worst crime they committed was that they toasted people in ovens used to bake bread when those people came to buy it. They kidnapped and beat up many.

Syrian Perspective reports that entire families were rounded up and killed – many because of their religious affiliation (Christian, Alawite, Druze, etc.). Unconfirmed reports also suggest that death squads murdered the mayor of Adra along with his wife and children.

Although the number of dead stands at 80 at the time of the writing of this article, the number is expected to rise after the Syrian military retakes the town, which has a population of about 20,000. Al-Ahd, an Iraqi television news agency, is reporting that the number of civilians taken hostage and the potential for civilian casualties is the reason that the Syrian military has largely refrained from using artillery in the area. With the military assault on Adraa now taking place, however, one can only wait and see if the hesitation to use such munitions continues to hold out.

The death squads remain strong in Adra with snipers placed in high-rise buildings posing a major threat to government forces and civilians alike, as well as the fact that a variety of Jihadist groups have also been operating in the town. In addition to Jobhat al-Nusra, Jaysh al-Islam is also known to occupy have a sizeable force in Adra.

Still, the Syrian military seems poised to retake the town. Government forces have already pinned down a highway leading from Adra to the International airport in Damascus, the airport being located only 4 kilometers away from the capital. Al-Ahd reports that the government does not rule out the possibility that the death squads, who stormed into Adra in large numbers, could break the blockade and enter the town of Dahiyat al Assad.

Nevertheless, government forces have surrounded the entire town and are engaged in offensive operations to liberate Adra. Already, several smaller operations have taken place against the death squads, resulting in the death of dozens of jihadists. According to Syrian Perspective, the Syrian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that, out of the dead “rebels,” at least 22 of them were Saudi Arabian.

RT reports that SAA troops have entered Adra and are storming every house in an effort to cleanse the town of death squad forces. Government statements suggest that the SAA has already rescued dozens of Alawite, Druze, and Christian families from captivity.

Syrian Perspective claims that, as a result of the horrific atrocities committed by the death squads in Adra, the Syrian military has been given orders to “take no prisoners.” The SAA will, no doubt, be happy to comply with these orders considering that the desire for revenge for the Adra massacre and a host of other atrocities committed against the Syrian people are running high.

Indeed, the shocking act of violence perpetrated against the innocent people of Adra is but one in the long list of atrocities committed by foreign-backed death squads in Syria.

Unfortunately, as long as Western money continues to flow into the coffers of the jihadists, it will not likely be the last.

Must be really big ovens or really small people, or were they chopped up first before being baked in the ovens?

Why would anyone be reporting such claims as if they are facts when there is no evidence whatsoever provided to support it except for SAA affiliated sources and RT quoting same SAA sources as "confirmation"?

That these forces could commit such a general massacre is indisputable based on 'historic precedent' and thus highly likely true in this case but claims of people being crammed into baking ovens and baked to death is comically recycled atrocity propaganda from WWI and WWII days.

Next SAA will uncover a corpse factory processing murdered civilian children into soap, grease, clothing for the winter, fuel, weapons, etc. or maybe the Jihadi's will uncover a 'torture chamber' where the SAA used pedal powered brain-bashing machines to murder good Sunni peoples.

I know the longer these conflicts go on the crazier the atrocity propaganda becomes as all sides get bloodier and bloodier and need to paint their enemy as "pure evil" in order to maintain their own "righteous" PR image but you would think an activist who is supposed to be a "skeptic" would wait for some kind of non-SAA connected/reported source for "confirmation".

Especially when this whole conflict started with "opposition forces" committing atrocities and then blaming them on the Syrian forces and usually involving comically "evil" bullshit stories of the claimed crimes.

Calling RT's quoting of SAA sources "confirmation" is deceptive.

Peace,
Jonny

Jonny is right, sounds like we are being played by the Russian-arm of globalism in yet another move on the n-dimensional chessboard.

Clearly, TPTB are trying to create a new or exaggerated atmosphere of contrived tension in the middle east attempting to prop up fear-based control methods back home and a redirection of blame for a devalued dollar.

MSM and gatekeeper reporting on Saudi Arabia is the most bizarre it has ever been. With a characterization of KSA as having gone rogue, frank admissions they are the major sponsor of middle east terrorism, are signaling to move away from the dollar, are attempting to access Pakistan's nukes, and have formed an "axis of evil" with Israel. Yet, the US recently sold them thousands of anti-tank missiles. In sharp contrast, another kind of reporting of KSA has been informing westerners that the Saudis are finally liberalizing their society, embracing western style television and beginning the process of institutionalizing women's rights. Also, it was just reported that moves were being made to form a Gulf states union – no doubt on script towards the formation of a central bankster controlled regional government, a.k.a, the New (or Greater) Middle East project.

The speed at which this massive operation is unfolding is stunning. The Saudis deported a million immigrants in just a few months and are on track to deport another million, in country with a population of only 30 million.

This is all tied to economic shock and awe at home with powerfully connected international bankster cronies like Trilateralist Larry Summers calling for the end of cash, adoption of a digital currency, and negative interest rates on savers. On the heels of Summers' proposal, a Fed Res Board governor called for capital controls.

Meanwhile, the MSM and gatekeepers conjure up faux military threats from globalist satellites Russia and China. [For example, recent articles warning of international “drone wars” when the drones are clearly intended to attack innocent civilian patriots, not for nation state wars]. If these nations are a "threat", then why are Russian troops training with the U.S. military? It's fake international tension with the goals of continued support for the military industrial complex, driving home the concept of a global military, distraction, and misdirection.

We have to step back and try to perceive the larger agenda in play. It's a deliberate fog of confusion.

BTW, it's funny, I always suspected RT was working as a globalist gatekeeper owing to the fact that the establishment never tried to vilify it, then I noticed one of my local PBS stations was broadcasting RT news and then the slam dunk moment and sinking feeling set in. No real surprise though.

A Government Separated from the People Cannot Stand

AMERICAN

THINKER

By Lawrence Sellin

In his 1952 book The Origins of Totalitarian Democracy, Israeli historian J. L. Talmon described a political system in which lawfully elected representatives rule a nation state whose citizens, although granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision-making process of government.

The federal government has become such a system, an entity unto itself operating outside of Constitutional constraints and unaccountable to the American people.

The United States is now controlled by a Democratic and Republican ruling class that transcends government and sees itself as distinct from the rest of society and as the only element that may act on its behalf. The ruling class considers those who resist it as having no moral or intellectual right, and, only reluctantly, any civil right to do so.

Power rests, not with the citizens, but with a relatively small group of politicians and financiers, who enhance their personal wealth and privilege by looting the country through a self-serving legislative process. They maintain their authority by adjusting the levers of government and using the establishment media to manipulate public perception and opinion.

Barack Obama, a coffeehouse communist, leads a dishonest and lawless cabal of far-left ideologues, whose goal is to promote socialist policies that can only be implemented at the expense of personal liberty.

Republican leaders neither contest that view nor oppose their Democrat counterparts because they do not want to challenge the ruling class, they want to join it. The GOP leadership has gradually solidified its choice to no longer represent what had been its constituency, but to adopt the identity of junior partners in the ruling class.

There is now a sharp division between the bipartisan ruling class and the rest of the American populace, who are considered retrograde, racist, and dysfunctional unless properly controlled by the dictates of central authority.

When blatant and outrageous lies are no longer sufficient to soothe the electorate into complacency, such a government must begin to curtail freedom and oppress the people in order to remain in power.

The present political environment, that is, the separation between the rulers and the ruled, bears comparison to the events leading up to the American Revolution.

On January 10, 1776, nearly six months before the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Paine published the forty-eight page pamphlet Common Sense, which openly presented arguments supporting the freedom of the American colonies from oppressive British rule.

According to Paine, a society arises because individuals living alone in nature find shared benefit by living together rather than remaining isolated. In an ideal society, where each individual acts in a morally just fashion toward every other individual in the society, there is no need for laws and government. Only when moral virtue is inadequate to restrain human evil, do laws become necessary; and only when a society becomes too large to operate by collective agreement and as individual enforcers of those laws do governments become necessary.

In such circumstances, the balance between society and government will determine the balance between individual liberty and functionality of the society. In complex societies, in the absence of laws and government, chaos will prevail. When laws become too numerous and government too large, individual liberty suffers.

The efficiency and effectiveness of government are directly dependent upon the trustworthiness of government officials as representatives and executors of the views and desires of the people.

In other words, whenever the interests of government officials divert from or are in conflict with those of the people, tyranny ensues.

The attributes that best describe how America is now governed are executive overreach, legislative complicity, judicial partisanship, and journalistic acquiescence.

The erosion of the Constitution and the theft of our Constitutional rights have been occurring incrementally and quietly over a long period of time. With the election of Barack Obama in 2008, those efforts have accelerated.

In contrast to what Thomas Paine wrote in The Rights of Man (1791), the Obama "utopian" model sees individual rights as privileges, not endowed by God, but granted via political charter, and, thereby, legally revocable to ensure the "good order" of society. It is a collectivist philosophy that directly conflicts with the principles outlined in the Constitution, where government is a construct of and accountable to its citizens, as Paine noted:

"The fact, therefore, must be that the individuals, themselves, each, in his own personal and sovereign right, entered into a contract with each other to produce a government: and this is the only mode in which governments have a right to arise, and the only principle on which they have a right to exist."

The Obama nightmare could be ended at any time simply by telling the truth.

To do so, however, would expose the rampant corruption of our political and media elite, reveal their complicity in Obama's violations of Constitution, uncover their willful ignorance of his alleged felonies and confirm their participation in the greatest election fraud and Constitutional crisis in American history.

Both the Democrat and Republican parties know that exposing Obama would reveal their dereliction of duty, their complicity in undermining the Constitution, and their continuous flouting of the rule of law. They know that the truth would topple the corrupt status quo and terminate their exclusive grip on political power, allowing the American people to regain control of their government. The political and media elite will do anything to prevent that.

The status quo is no longer defensible. Unless there is a significant reversal soon, it is only a matter of time that a catastrophe will be upon us, which may well lead to national collapse and fragmentation.

The ruling elites of a now hopelessly corrupt political system are just one major blunder away from revolution.

There is a Cold Civil War underway in the United States to determine who should control the federal government. It is not a contest between the Democrat and Republican ideologies, but a battle between the entrenched power of the bipartisan political establishment versus the rights and liberties of the American people. The Cold Civil War is a conflict between those who want to adhere to the Constitution and the rule of law and the party leaders, who wish to continue the practices of political expediency and crony capitalism. The US no longer has representative government. Members of Congress seek election, not to uphold the Constitution and serve the American people, but to obtain power, and to use that power to accrue professional and financial benefits for themselves and their major supporters. All the traditional means for the American people to seek the redress of grievances have now been blocked by a self-absorbed permanent political elite unaccountable to the American people. The ruling elites of a now hopelessly corrupt political system are just one major blunder away from revolution. When blatant and outrageous lies are no longer sufficient to soothe the electorate into complacency, such a government must begin to curtail liberty and oppress the people in order to remain in power. Ordinary Americans must band together and take a stand to restore the Constitution and the rule of law, to establish political and fiscal sanity and to return the government to the people. Otherwise, our republic may be lost forever.

Rigging Foreign Exchange Markets

By Stephen Lendman

It's the world's largest financial market. It trades around $5 trillion daily. It's more than all global equity markets combined. It operates round-the-clock. It's manipulated for profit. More on that below.

Grand theft reflects official Wall Street policy. It's longstanding. High crimes go unpunished. Bankers make money the old-fashioned way. They steal it. They do it lots of clever ways.

They do it through fraud, grand theft, market manipulation, front-running, misrepresentation, scamming investors, naked short selling, precious metals price suppression, controlling Washington, getting open-ended low or no interest rate bailouts when needed, and assuring world financial capitals are banker occupied territories.

They do it artfully. Few people know what's going on. Scandals rarely surface. Budding ones are usually buried. Little more than dust gets kicked up. Headlines disappear in short order.

In June 2012, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon testified before the Senate Banking Committee. He discussed his firm's trading losses at the time.

It was more of a homecoming than grilling. Washington is Wall Street occupied territory. Regulators don't regulate. Oversight is absent.

Investigations rarely happen. Initiated ones are whitewashed. Criminal fraud is institutionalized. It's encouraged, not curbed.

Congress, the administration, SEC, and credit rating agencies incestuously collude with giant banks and other major financial institutions. Whatever they want, they get.

Wall Street never had it so good. Senators didn't lay a glove on Dimon. His grand theft business model wasn't discussed.

Former bank regulator/financial fraud expert Bill Black's book titled "The Best Way to Rob A Bank Is To Own One" explains well.

He coined the term "control fraud." It lets corporate officials commit grand theft. Finance capital never had it so good. Trillions of dollars are stolen. Nothing intervenes to stop it.

MF Global (MFG) looted customer accounts. Former Goldman Sachs chairman/CEO Jon Corzine ran operations.

MFG faced a run on its holdings. In October 2011, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Months before doing so, it moved hundreds of millions of dollars in customer money from its US brokerage unit to Bank of New York Mellon Corp.

It looted them. It used client money to speculate, pay down debt and cover losses. It committed grand theft. It's longstanding Wall Street practice.

Why not when rare punishments at most are wrist slaps. Top Wall Street officials aren't punished. They free to steal again.

Markets are rigged. Movements up or down aren't random. The
Wall Street controlled Fed and high-level insiders manipulate them for profits.

Washington facilitates their lawlessness. It does it with business friendly legislation. It does it with similar executive orders. It does it by turning a blind eye to the worst of what goes on.

Market rigging is longstanding practice. It's part of the system. On March 18, 1989, Ronald Reagan's Executive Order 12631 created the Working Group on Financial Markets (WGFM).

It's commonly called the Plunge Protection Team (PPT). Officials involved (or their designees) include:

• the President;

• the Treasury Secretary as chairman;

• the Fed chairman;

• the SEC chairman; and

• the Commodity Futures Trading Commission chairman.

PPT's "Purposes and Functions. Recognizing the goals of enhancing the integrity, efficiency, orderliness, and competitiveness of our Nation's financial markets."

"(T)he Working Group shall identify and consider:

(1) the major issues raised by the numerous studies on the events (pertaining to the) October 19, 1987 (market crash and consider) recommendations that have the potential to achieve the goals noted above; and

(2)….governmental (and other) actions under existing laws and regulations….that are appropriate to carry out these recommendations."

Government and Wall Street collude. They manipulate markets doing so. They move them up and down. Enormous profits are made both ways. Most people don't know what goes on.

Wall Street/Washington invisible hands work better than Adam Smith imagined. They do it in dirty ways unknown in his day.

Mythology holds that prices move up or down randomly. Market forces do so, it's claimed. Manipulation isn't mentioned.

It's commonplace. It's longstanding. Tools are much more sophisticated than earlier. Computer technology facilitates blatantly illegal practices.

The 1934 Gold Reserve Act created the Treasury's Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF).

Section 7 of the 1944 Bretton Woods Agreements made its operations permanent.

The Treasury runs the Fund. Congressional oversight is bypassed. Manipulation keeps sharp dollar fluctuations up or down from disrupting financial markets.

Treasury operations include stabilizing foreign currencies, extending credit lines to foreign governments, and guaranteeing money market funds against losses up to tens of billions of dollars.

In 1995, Clinton provided Mexico a $20 billion peso credit stabilization line. It did so in time of crisis.

Earlier administrations extended loans or credit lines to various other countries. Current US lending to the IMF tops $35 billion.

Years earlier it was $57 billion. In 2009, Congress expanded contributions by $108 billion. The Treasury's web site states:

"By law, the Secretary has considerable discretion in the use of ESF resources."

"The legal basis of the ESF is the Gold Reserve Act of 1934."

"As amended in the late 1970s….the Secretary (per) approval of the President, may deal in gold, foreign exchange, and other instruments of credit and securities."

In other words, the Treasury maintains a slush fund. It uses it for whatever purposes it wishes. It manipulates markets. It operates secretly.

In 1999, the Counterparty Risk Management Policy Group (CRMPG) was established. It followed the Long Term Capital Management (LTCM) crisis.

CRMPG manipulates markets beneficially for Wall Street giants. It lets them collude through large-scale program trading. Doing so manipulates markets up and down advantageously.

Troubled giants get bailed out. Ordinary people get sold out. The process repeats as needed. A secret FDIC plan involves looting bank accounts.

Depositor theft may follow. Doing so is called bail-ins. It's code language for grand theft.

Ordinary people and richer ones have trillions in bank accounts. It's low-hanging fruit. It's a treasure trove begging to be looted. Legislative shenanigans may legitimize it.

Cypriot officials did it. Canada approved it. So did Eurozone member states and New Zealand. It's theft by other means.

Leading US banks warned about charging depositors. They may do so if the Fed cuts interest it pays them on bank reserves.

Imagine being charged for checking, savings and/or money market accounts. Depositors already earn virtually nothing on them. Penalizing them further may follow.

Libor markets are rigged. It's an acronym for London Interbank Offered Rate. It's a fundamental rate-setting benchmark. It's set daily between UK banks for overnight to 12 month durations.

It's produced for ten currencies with 15 maturities. It represents the London market's lowest cost of unsecured funding. It's the primary global short-term rate benchmark.

In the 1980s, it began expanding exponentially in importance. London's status grew as an international financial center. It's the world's largest.

It handles over 20% of all international bank lending. More than 30% of foreign exchange transactions go through London.

Demand grew for an accurate measure of the real rate at which banks and other financial institutions could borrow from each other.

It affects the price and availability of capital. The higher Libor goes, the greater the borrowing cost for business, individuals, real estate and other loans.

When things work right, operations are hardly noticed. When trouble occurs, all hell breaks loose.

Libor rigging affects countless trillions of dollars. Amounts involved exceed global GDP multiple times over.

Predatory banks manipulate things advantageously. Practices are too corrupted to fix. The longer they go unaddressed, the more harm done.

Financial giants, central bankers and complicit politicians bear full responsibility. Dirty policies persist out-of-control.

Libor rigging is one of many manipulative market practices. Systemic corruption breeds more of the same. An illusion of stability  conceals business as usual.

Gold and other precious metals markets are rigged. Naked short selling offsets rising bullion demand. Prices are driven lower.

Naked shorts reflect what sellers don't have. It's illegal. It persists anyway. Bullion prices would be much higher otherwise. Eventually they'll rise to their true value. When remains to be seen.

QE reflects Fed market rigging. Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities are bought. Too-big-to-fail banks hold enormous amounts of junk. Fed buying substitutes dollars for toxic assets.

Banks get lots of cash to speculate. Markets are manipulated up in response. It's artificial. It's not real. It can't last. It continues until bubbles eventually pop.

Foreign exchange markets are rigged. On October 12, The Economist headlined "The FX is in," saying:

It's "been a dreadful couple of years for financial benchmarks." Banks rig libor. "Commodities prices from crude oil to platinum have been the subject of allegations and inquiries."

Authorities now scrutinize global foreign exchange (FX) markets. Trillions of dollars are involved daily. "(S)uspect banks have tampered with those, too."

On October 4, Reuters headlined "Switzerland probes banks over possible forex rigging." FINMA said it's "currently (investigating) several Swiss financial institutions in connection with possible manipulation of foreign exchange markets."

It's coordinating with regulators in other countries. "(M)ultiple banks around the world are potentially implicated."

UBS is Switzerland's largest bank. It was fined $2.7 billion for market rigging. Credit Suisse may be involved. So are major Wall Street banks.

Bloomberg said major ones use advance customer order knowledge to push through trades manipulatively.

They colluded with other banks doing so. FX markets are poorly regulated. Most trading takes place away from exchanges. It's a shadowy anything goes realm.

Price rigging is standard practice. Hundreds of banks trade currencies. Four dominate the market: Deutsche Bank, Citigroup, Barclays and UBS.

Concerns center around what's known as the "London Fix." It's a daily snapshot of currency prices.

Enormous shifts happen during a 60-second window before 4PM London time. It's when markets are especially liquid.

Banks set a certain rate for trades of one currency against another. Shortly afterwards, prices revert to normal rates.

Forex traders call the practice banging the close. It reflects blatant market manipulation. Betting the right way yields huge profits in seconds.

A fraction of a cent is all it takes. Trading involves a measure called a "pip." It represents one basis point or 1/100th of 1%.

Multiple trades near the London Fix can yield enormous profits. Repeating the process many times daily multiplies it hugely. A few pips in the right direction is all it takes.

The so-called WM/Reuters (WMR) rate works as follows. It's when "more than 40% of daily global FX trading is done. It's the nearest thing to a closing price in a 24-hour, self-regulated market."

Unwary traders are fleeced big time. Banks know big trades they'll execute on behalf of others.

Moving forex prices ahead of the fix yields big profits. Major banks do it at the expense of unsuspecting clients.

According to New York University's Stern School of Business Professor Marti Subrahmanyan:

"There's no policeman. These things have sort of fallen through the cracks. Foreign exchange is really nobody's kind of baby."

Major forex traders collude in electronic messaging groups. They're called "the bandits club" and "the cartel."

They profit at the expense of clients. They do so by manipulating markets up or down. Regulators do virtually nothing to stop it.

Investigations come and go. Minor penalties at most are imposed. It's part of the system. It shifts enormous wealth to major players.

Forex trading is a buyer's beware market. Traders call it the wild west. Volatility is valued. Sharp rice movements create profit opportunities. Stability minimizes them.

Manipulation is part of the system. Forex trading shenanigans reflect grand theft. Who said crime doesn't pay?

Trust is Gone by Dennis Prager

By Dennis Prager

All of these are not only impeachable offenses, but incarceration indictments as well. Until every so-called anti-Obama

organization come together as one to remove this man……America is doomed to repeat the history of every other nation which

has allowed this to take place. Requests for more money, more petitions to be signed, will not be effective until a national

concerted effort to remove the politicians who support this traitor and his regime takes place.

Those of us who are being hurt the most by the illegal, executive orders, have no funds left to aid in ineffective rhetoric and

impotent actions.

Members of the Congress could call for a national movement and support for this action…..bypassing the corrupt Holder and his

courts of no justice. .

Facts are facts.

By Dennis Prager

I have been broadcasting for 31 years and writing for longer than that. I do not recall ever saying on radio or in print that a president is doing lasting damage to our country. I did not like the presidencies of Jimmy Carter (the last Democrat I voted for) or Bill Clinton. Nor did I care for the “compassionate conservatism” of George W. Bush. In modern political parlance “compassionate” is a euphemism for ever-expanding government.

But I have never written or broadcast that our country was being seriously damaged by a president. So it is with great sadness that I write that President Barack Obama has done and continues to do major damage to America. The only question is whether this can ever be undone.

This is equally true domestically and internationally.

Domestically, his policies have had a grave impact on the American economy.

He has overseen the weakest recovery from a recession in modern American history.

He has mired the country in unprecedented levels of debt: about $6.5 trillion — that is 6,500 billion — in five years (this after calling his predecessor “unpatriotic” for adding nearly $5 trillion in eight years).

He has fashioned a country in which more Americans now receive government aid — means-tested, let alone non-means-tested — than work full-time.

He has no method of paying for this debt other than printing more money — thereby surreptitiously taxing everyone through inflation, including the poor he claims to be helping, and cheapening the dollar to the point that some countries are talking about another reserve currency — and saddling the next generations with enormous debts.

With his 2,500-page Affordable Care Act he has made it impossible for hundreds of thousands, soon millions, of Americans to keep their individual or employer-sponsored group health insurance; he has stymied American medical innovation with an utterly destructive tax on medical devices; and he has caused hundreds of thousands of workers to lose full-time jobs because of the health-care costs imposed by Obamacare on employers.

His Internal Revenue Service used its unparalleled power to stymie political dissent. No one has been held accountable.

His ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were murdered by terrorists in Benghazi, Libya. No one has been blamed. The only blame the Obama administration has leveled was on a videomaker in California who had nothing to do with the assault.

In this president’s White House the buck stops nowhere.

Among presidents in modern American history, he has also been a uniquely divisive force. It began with his forcing Obamacare through Congress — the only major legislation in American history to be passed with no votes from the opposition party.

Though he has had a unique opportunity to do so, he has not only not helped heal racial tensions, he has exacerbated them. His intrusions into the Trayvon Martin affair (“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”) and into the confrontation between a white police officer and a black Harvard professor (the police “acted stupidly”) were unwarranted, irresponsible, demagogic, and, most of all, divisive.

He should have been reassuring black Americans that America is in fact the least racist country in the world — something he should know as well as anybody, having been raised only by whites and being the first (halfbreed) black elected the leader of a white-majority nation.

Instead, he echoed the inflammatory speech of professional race-baiters such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

He has also divided the country by economic class, using classic Marxist language against “the rich” and “corporate profits.”

Regarding America in the world, he has been, if possible, even more damaging. The United States is at its weakest, has fewer allies, and has less military and diplomatic influence than at any time since before World War II.

One wonders if there is a remaining ally nation that trusts him. And worse, no American enemy fears him. If you are a free movement (the democratic Iranian and Syrian oppositions) or a free country (Israel), you have little or no reason to believe that you have a steadfast ally in the United States.

Even non-democratic allies no longer trust America. Barack Obama has alienated our most important and longest standing Arab allies, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Both the anti–Muslim Brotherhood and the anti-Iran Arab states have lost respect for him.

And his complete withdrawal of American troops from Iraq has left that country with weekly bloodbaths.

Virtually nothing Barack Obama has done has left America or the world better since he became president. Nearly everything he has touched has been made worse.

He did, however, promise before the 2008 election that “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

That is the one promise he has kept.

What does it take for the American people to WAKE UP?

Will the Growing Militarization of Our Police Doom Community Policing?

December 11th, 2013 by

http://cops.usdoj.gov/html/dispatch/12-2013/will_the_growing_militarization_of_our_police_doom_community_policing.asp

Editor

The growing militarization of U.S. policing may be threatening community policing. When Sir Robert Peel developed his plan for the London Metropolitan Police circa 1829—which U.S. policing was loosely patterned after—he borrowed heavily from the military in organization and administrative structure, but he wanted there to be a clear distinction between the police and the military. To achieve that, the uniforms of the London Metropolitan police (Bobbies) were blue, in contrast to the red uniform of the day's British military, and Bobbies were forbidden to carry firearms.

While the military's mission is predicated on the use of force, Peel's principles of policing emphasize crime prevention, public approval, willing cooperation of the public, and a minimal use of physical force.

12-11-2013 3-32-33 PMAs U.S. policing evolved it took on a quasi-military orientation, with a hierarchical rank structure supported by distinctive uniforms, insignias, and a tangle of rules that borrowed heavily from the military. The military trappings were embraced even more as the field worked its way out from under the grip of political patronage and focused on crime control as the core mission.

The professional movement (1920s through 1970s) took policing from the corruption and political influence that pervaded the early years of policing to a more autonomous and less corrupt police culture. The professional movement relied on a regimented militaristic style to accomplish the transition, which remains constant to this day.1

While the community policing movement has drawn heavily from Peel's principles of policing, which emphasize the importance of the relationship between the police and the community they serve, the concurrent militarization trend may be undermining those relationships.

The current drift toward militarization has its roots in the 1960s and the responses to the social unrest that swept the nation at the time. The development of Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) teams in reaction to the Watts riots in Los Angeles began a movement in policing that relied more and more on military tactics, training, and equipment.2

There was unquestionably a need for the SWAT team approach in handling serious violent emergency situations, particularly those involving hostage taking and terrorist related incidents, and that was their primary use from their inception through the 1970s.3

However, since the early 1980s the use of SWAT teams has undergone a dramatic expansion: in the number of departments creating SWAT teams and in the mission and sheer number SWAT deployments. The number of departments—both large and small—with SWAT teams has increased by 48 percent from 1985 to 1995. SWAT team use increased as well, with team deployments jumping by 939 percent from 1980 to 1995, reaching about 30,000 deployments. The nature of their use changed as well. Search and arrest warrants related to drug cases accounted for a significant amount of the increase in SWAT deployments. Peter Kraska, Professor and Chair of Graduate Studies and Research in the School of Justice Studies at Eastern Kentucky University, estimates the increase in SWAT team use from 1980 to 2000 to be about 1,500 percent.4

12-11-2013 3-33-06 PMSWAT is not the only contributing factor to the growing militarization of our police. Some evidence suggests that the military type battle dress uniforms (BDU) that are becoming more prevalent as standard dress for patrol officers, and the stress training patterned after military boot camps may have a negative impact on the very relationships between police and community members that are critical to the operationalization of community policing.

The type and color of the uniform has been said to contribute to a citizen's perception of the officer, and some research has suggested that the uniform color can influence the wearer—with black producing aggressive tendencies,5 tendencies that may produce unnecessary conflict between police and the very people they serve.

Stress training in police academies, and its warrior-like orientation that tends to create an “us versus them” mind set in rookie officers, has the potential of creating barriers between the police and the community. Even when community policing is part of a stress academy curriculum, it has been shown that the stress training creates obstacles to the kind of police-citizen relationships necessary to operationalize community policing.6

Police chiefs and sheriffs may want to ask themselves—if after hiring officers in the spirit of adventure, who have been exposed to action oriented police dramas since their youth, and sending them to an academy patterned after a military boot camp, then dressing them in black battle dress uniforms and turning them loose in a subculture steeped in an “us versus them” outlook toward those they serve and protect, while prosecuting the war on crime, war on drugs, and now a war on terrorism—is there any realistic hope of institutionalizing community policing as an operational philosophy?
